Well, that's gonna dock them a whole point..."). It's come to a point that I just flat out ignore any "Editorials" they post of the site, since they just repeat the same bile they've been spewing for years. I could go on and on about what is wrong with IGNorant, but no one wants to hear my rantings.

EDIT: I think the only thing IGN's done right over the past generation is their Game Collection pages. In fact, that's the ONLY good thing about them.

Yep.. Like I said, I only read the objective parts of their sites, like check for news updates, but even things like straight up reporting on some news event seem too good of a chance to not start spewing crap inside these days. :/

What I want to know is why the hell Nintendo are giving Kuju their Advance Wars franchise to play with? WTF? Kuju is the #1 overrated developer in the UK today. They haven't developed a single interesting or remotely good game -- and they get ADVANCE WARS?! Gah..

Err.. I didn't read all the posts -- but a firmware upgrade would just be applied by flashing the rom. You don't need to 'store' it anywhere external. As you boot up -- where do you think the "operating system" comes from?

Hah! That's ACE!!

Lost101: The sound quality is somewhat down to the streaming nature of the file though.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Sawaru: Made in Wario impressions
« on: December 04, 2004, 03:29:54 AM »
Got this thing on order, and shipped. woh. May type up some quick impressions as soon as it arrives, which should be any day now. Nice impressions in here so far, though trying to read them and not reading someone going on in detail about this and that mini-game is a bit hard. Wario Ware is always best served fresh! The less you know beforehand, the better the mini-games are.

To be honest, I've actually noticed the sudden 'mood-change' over at IGN. It's strange... are they seriously doing it just to piss people off? What's the point? Aren't they supposed to just cover gaming? Eh. I can't really say I care much though, being mostly interested in non-objective stuff -- like news... and not previews/reviews anyway.. but that DS launch report was just taking the mickey. I'd already seen pictures from the other tokyo districts, with people queuing around corners waiting to get the DS. What good will it do when one of the bigger american sites are downplaying the turn-out of something as important to Nintendo as a hardware launch? Makes no sense. Ah well.

It's not surprising to get that mixed up.. it's not as if socialism exists in the US anyway. That is, if that person is indeed an American. If not, ouch. Hehe.

« on: December 04, 2004, 02:42:39 AM »
I'm guessing these will both be turned into 2D for the DS -- which should be fine. The DS can pull of some spectacular 2D stuff, N64 quality 3D is a bit unexciting for sprawling RPGs anyway -- so here's hoping. Either way it was huge news strategically one day ahead of the Japan launch.

TalkBack / RE:Nintendo DS Japanese Launch
« on: December 04, 2004, 02:35:13 AM »
Will be interesting to see the first week of sales for Japan -- most sites have downplayed the japanese DS launch in terms of people showing up for queues and so on, but I don't think they really have taken into account the fact that Nintendo actually managed half a million units by launch-day. It'll be interesting. Somehow I doubt Japan can beat the US' half million in a week though.

All Pilotwings got excellent reviews. I'm pretty sure both sold very well. Pilotwings SNES because it rocked, first game to utilise Mode7 and kicking arse. Pilotwings 64, launch-title for N64... golden.

In me is the magical power contained, to be able to play multiple games at once. In fact, one time I tested the range of my skill and came up to 7 games before I fell into a severe coma. After that I've been smarter in my ways and only done about 3-4 games at most simultaneously.

Adding a little note to that; Nothing about the original on SNES was cartoony. woop.

Not as good as .. but good enough. They could easily do a Zelda for GC. Throw in an under guidance by Miyamoto or whatever, if it'll help.

Factor 5 is set to demonstrate a GameCube version of Pilotwings during E3, or so the rumour goes (and it's quite convincing, actually). Factor 5 are of course erstwhile developers of the excellent Rogue Leader, which distinguished itself as the best early third party title on the system when it became clear that Luigi couldn't cut the mustard by himself. We'll obviously let you know if this is true from the show floor in a fortnight's time…

So.. hm.. could it be?
