I find GI's alot easier with the d-pad.  And the digital shoulder buttons are great for SC too.

Ok.  Just been play some SC2 with the Hori.  It D-Pad is perfect IMO.  Nice and tight, but feels like it will break in a bit with time. Really nice.  Only complaint I have about mine, and this is minor, and I'm sure only with mine.  The left trigger feels a little different to the right.  The right is a little clicky (which is really good) while the left is not as clicky.  If they were both the same you wouldn't even be thinking about it.  But is does feel noticable when you first use it.  After a while of playing I forogt about it as there realy is only a slight difference.

This pad is awesome for fighting games.  I might have to pick myself a copy of MKDA now.  I hired it and it was very crap controls with the wavebird d-pad.

I don't have joe yet, but I've played it and I would be great with this.  Viewtiful Joe is next on my list of games to get.  I'll try just about to through in some rocky boxing which might be good with this pad as well.  Loving it so fast.  They're quite cheap really.  Even with shipping.

I got a 64 USB memory card.  So now I have a bigger memory card plus its all backed up on my PC.  You can download other peoples saves too.  So on my smaller mem card I've put fully unlocked saves of Super Monkey Ball 2, Mario Kart DD and Super Smash Bros Melee.  I'm not taking the fun out of it.  It's just for when people are over, since I haven't had time to unlock those games completely now I can enjoy the full game in multi player and finish it at my leasure.

I also got a Hoti Digital Controller.  Soul Calibur 2 will get quite a bit of playtime now.   I've finished Weapons Master Mode with the wavebird using the same character the whole way through.  Now I'll start to master all of them and unlock the rest.

I also got a S-Video cable that Aperenty won't work on a PAL gamecube.  Haven't tried it yet.  But it was only $8 so... meh.  If anyone has any questions about there products, I'll do my best answer them.

Got the goods to Australia in 8 days with the cheapest postage option.  Not working days.  Eight days.  Not bad I thought.

Ok.  I'm almost 100 percent certain but before a make my Play Asia purchase I better make sure.  I'm getting a Hori Digital Controller, and 64MB Usb Mem card and a Universal AV/S-Video 3in1 Cable.  These will all work on my Australian PAL Gamecube Right?

Thanks

Well not to sure if this has been posted somewhere else on the forum but I haven't seen it.  Please direct me to the thread if it has (I'm sure you will anyway).

Anyway.  Over at www.gamesindustry.biz there is a few rumours about nintendo.  One seems totaly stupid stating that Nintendo actually owns the right to the name "Playstation" and are going to sue Sony.  WTF???

And another that would be cool if it was true, is that "Nintendo is set to buy Sega and Capcom and that both companies will be working exclusively on the GameCube as a result".

Facts - None
True - Doubtfull

Just thought I'd post it and see what other people have to say.

If having your console able to connect online sells more systems and stops you getting hurt by your competitors, I don't see how it's not an opertunity.  I would use online and I think many other people would to.  Don't say you wouldn't just because you think nintendo are never going to do in for the gamecube (and you probably be right).  I would have love to have bought NFSU for gamecube but won't just because its not online.  I'll now get it for PC.

Something about knowing that the same game on other systems and online capability and mine does not just doesn't so it for me.  More and more games will be going online.  It opens up so many more features.  What are you doing Nintendo?  If the gamecube fails ( I hope it doesn't) then this will be one of the reasons.  Even if people don't use the feature, it may be one of the reason that swayed them in the direction of XBox and PS2.  You have to admit.  No Online.  No DVD.  I'm sure there are a lot of people who don't use these features but may have bought the system because of them.

Just had to get that off my chest.  I love the Gamecube and Nintendo.

I got it for PC.  I thought it was a great game.  Had it been released on gamecube the same time as XBox i would have bought it.  It may be a bit overhyped, but it is a great game.

I haven't looked too much in the Mario Kart thread, but did anyone in Australia get the Bonus Disc over here?  Can you get it from anywhere?

Is super mario sunshine really a "Buy" game.  I tend to only buy games with either multiplayer or long single player.  And I'm not bagging it, because I haven't played it.  Just asking the question?  Looking at screenshots and reviews i did think much of veiwtiful joe.  I just hired to today and "wow".  This game rocks.

Nintendo Gaming / Info on Action Replay and Freeloader Please.
« on: November 18, 2003, 02:59:42 AM »
For some reason I thought Action Replay was a CD (what ever the gamecube media is) that you booted off.  But it seems to go into you memery card slot.  Also people have mentioned Freeloader comming with ACtion Replay.  Does it come on the mem card thing or do you get a CD with it?  Is freeloader a CD or a Memcard?

I'm so confused.  Can some please explain the both of them do me, what media they're on and what come with what?

Well.  Had the cube a little over a month now.  Love playing it with friends.  Was looking to get get Super Monkey Ball 2.  I see now over at Nintendophiles they have a release date of Jan 1 2004 for Super Monkey Ball 3.  So I'd like to wait and get that.  Only will that be a PAL version.   Probably not.  Will I have to wait 6 months after this release date get it.  Probably.

Also..  Since I've had my cube a few times say that my mem card has been currupted and needs to be formatted.  I just power off the system and reinsert the mem card and all is fine so don't belive it.  Not sure why this happens.  I do have a 3rd party mem card though so thats probably it.  If I can find one of those 64mb USB mem cards in Australia I'll snatch it up.  I'd love to be able to backup to my PC.

If it's not happening with other games normally it's a fingerprint/mark/something wrong with the disc.  Give it a good clean.  Other people will know more then me though.  Only got my cube just over a month ago as well.

I can't speak for Mario Kart DD because I haven't played it..but... SOUL CALIBUR 2 IS A MUST.   Specialy if you like playing with your mates as do I.  This game gets the most playtime.

Where did you aussies get it from and how much did you pay.  I'm just about to go out and look for it.  I was going to get it over the net for a cheap price but now I can't wait.

Well,  after the IGN review I might hold off on getting it and see what you people think.  There are other games I could buy if it's not up to scratch.

DVD Crave has Both Action Replay and FreeLoader 1.06B for $49.95.  Why would you buy freeloader if it comes with action replay???? Will This do the trick.

On another note.  I've been looking around for super monkey ball 2 and found it's been discontinued already.  What's the go with that.  Didn't it only come out this year in Aus?  Looks like I'll have to turn to E-bay.

Backwards compatibilty please please please.  Helped the PS2 I think.  It's a nice transition when you buy a new console to be able to play all your old cool games.

DVD would be good for Travel.

HDD would eliminate Mem Card problem.

The D-Pad for game cube realy does suck.  It's about the size of the GBA.

I hope they think about Media Size this time.  PS2 is 2yrs older and Develpers are having to cut back things because they can't fit there game on 1.5 GB.

USB 2.0 Ports would be usefull.

More 3rd party games.

No Idea how do-able this stuff is.  Just what I think.
