Nintendo Gaming / RE: Prince of Persia Glitch

Nemo, to fight the crows/vultures/whatever, wait for them to attack, block it, and then swing at them. Works most of the time.

Looks interesting. Thanks for the link. Oh, is it possible to link regular memory cards to the cable, and not just their 64MB one?

3
I saw a USB memory card that can transfer saves, but I haven't found a single place that sells it. Is there anything else? My recent ass-kickage of the F-Zero GP mode has made me rather anxious to back up my files. And Sega (stupidly) made it impossible to copy the F-Zero file to another card from the GC setup menu.  For a game this difficult, that's just mean.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: I got to play Metroid Zero Mission! (Tiny Spoilers?)
« on: February 09, 2004, 06:40:23 AM »
Bombs explode really quickly in this, which allows for infinite bomb jumping. (did SM have this? I can't remember) Should be interesting to see what kind of sequence breaking that allows.

The game is extremely easy on normal mode. Especially the bosses. Even Ridley, who is generally regarded as one of the Metroid series' toughest battles, can be defeated within literally 30 seconds. (but he was also easy in the original, so I guess it's okay) But hard mode, which can only be unlocked after beating the game, is a lot harder. Upgrades give you less, weapons do less damage and enemies do more. And apparently bosses are affected by your item completion, so the more items you have, the harder it gets.

Oh, and there isn't any text conversations like in Fusion. The story is delivered completely visually, except for the occasional Samus monologue which only pops up 2 or 3 times in the game.

So yeah. This game kicks ass. The UK isn't getting it until april though. =/

I take it that it doesn't apply if you already bought the games? There's only three there that I don't have, and I don't particularly want. :/

*sigh*

Why can't Nintendo of Europe reward its long time fans rather than the new buyers for once?

Yeah, PGC showed a video of this glitch quite a few months ago.

Rogue Leader only took 9 months.

Yeah, the game does look pretty cool.

The voices won't be in the arcade port, unfortunately. =/

Denis hinted at a yellow god in one of his interviews. The ED universe is apparently a lot bigger than what has been revealed so far.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Whats the best RGB Scart Cable?
« on: August 15, 2003, 03:27:11 AM »
I got the official Nintendo RGB SCART cable. The picture quality is great. I did hear that one of the third party RGB cables didn't use a "true" RGB signal, so maybe it was the Joytech one.

The digital out on the GC is for component connections to HDTV's I believe. They're not available in PAL yet (which I assume you're using, since you're asking about RGB).

Nintendo Gaming / RE: What did you think of the clone wars??
« on: August 11, 2003, 11:49:36 PM »
It's a fun game. I loved the aerial gunship missions, the gunship's "phasers" are SO fun to use. I really hope it's in Rebel Strike as a bonus craft or something. But the non-vehicle missions kinda sucked, and the game lacks the replay value of Rogue Leader.

I don't think there has been any situations where any significant content has been removed.  Apparently the demo introduction for SSBM was shortened slightly for PAL to make room for the extra languages, but I'm not sure.

15
Heh, I just completely finished the game. 60 missions/130 emblems/30 Metal Sonic emblems. I think reviewers have been a little harsh with it. Even though it's old, and pretty glitchy, it's EXTREMELY fun. And there's tons of replay value in it.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: another sonic adventure DX topic.

It's about the same. Apparently there are a few collision bugs on a couple of stages where you can fall through the ground, but that happened to me on the DC version sometimes too. *shrug*

Apparently the frame rate has been fixed since E3. (though, it's still not perfect...) And Sonic Team added the ability to manipulate the camera with the C-Stick.

Game improvements include improved character models and textures,  geometry textures (not much), improved lighting...generally it looks as good as SA2B. Oh, and there are 12 unlockable GameGear Sonic titles. One word: w00t!

PAL regions get this game on the 27th. I can't wait. (even though I have it on the DC, which has a busted AV cable. Sigh.)

The Saturn used a lithium battery to store all its data. It blew out after a couple of years. Mine is gone. =(

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Wind Waker is SOOOOOO Blurry!!!!!!
« on: June 12, 2003, 12:53:32 AM »
I think the PAL version was made less blurry. Either that or the extra 100 lines makes the picture sharp enough to counter-effect the blur.

I wouldn't call Luigi a clone of Mario. He's based on him, but his moves are too different for him to be a real clone. Dr. Mario is Mario's official clone.

I never got into playing with Marth or Roy. First I stuck with Mario and Link, but now Mewtwo seriously owns everyone. He's fast, has very good jumping ability, his recovery move has him immune to attacks (and looks damn cool), He can deflect projectiles, he's strong - so lifting heavy objects doesn't slow him down much, and he can throw them very far, oh, and his reverse and vertical throws kick ass.

He's pretty light, though, so it's easy to get smacked around sometimes.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Metroid: Prime lock up problem
« on: May 26, 2003, 03:18:36 AM »
It's harder in the sense that enemies drop items less frequently. We also got some extra features like voiceovers in the intro and outro, and bug fixes (I had a list somewhere, oh well)

Anyway...I can't really help you, Army, I haven't experienced any lock-ups in Metroid Prime before. (I had a lockup in WW a couple of weeks ago though. That sucked.) I heard it was to do with IBM manufacturing slightly faulty CPU's in the early batches. That's probably completely wrong though.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: lack of good teen or mature games
« on: May 12, 2003, 11:41:24 AM »
Aren't games like Rogue Squadron or Spider-Man rated E? Everyone forgets about these types of games when considering the "maturity" of a console. If it's an E game, it's automatically assumed to be bright coloured and directed at children.
