Nintendo Gaming / Official Game Boy Player Discussion

How cheap of nintendo..i was all for the gameboy player till i read that faq...no mode for Widescreen tvs! the gba has a widescreen and i thought the 16:9 ratio was a standard in japan?  no progressive scan is a dissapointment but no biggy.  not using the super gameboy features? now that one is dumb, Nintendo released 2 super gameboy's and plenty of games aready include the code for them, was it going to be that difficult for the gbp to read the extra code?

now that im done ranting, one question for bloodworth.  How do gbc and gb games look on the tv, i mean do they fill the screen, fit in a window, or are they horizontaly streched like on the gba (which is dumb, they should have streched it verticaly)?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: nintendo's next system
« on: June 21, 2003, 04:01:41 PM »
something i havent seen anyone mention, the next game system needs to be HD compatable. if the release date for this thing is 2005 the fcc has mandated the change over to be 2006.  thats gonna be alot of people buying HDsets.  im not sure how possible it is but if games could be displayed in 1080i they would rock the compitition.

Another thing, nintendo needs some digital outputs on their next system! plz nintendo!  prologic is ok, but its still not nearly as clear and crisp as dolby 5.1 encoding.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: the next next-gen console

I dont see Nintendo giveing away brand new games with a brand new console.  Its just not smart business.  But if backwards compatablity is there i COULD see them going the route they allready are and offer a top notch GCN game with a new GC2

I really hope the next nintendo system is either backwards compatable or has somesort of expantion to make it compatable.  I've been riding the nintendo console wave since the NES but ive never had this many games for my system before.  I'd hate to think it's all just a waste when the next system arives.

General Gaming / Help with ProLogic II
« on: June 18, 2003, 11:57:49 AM »
Hey everyone! My reciver is hooked up to both my gamecube and my dvd player.  When my dvd player outputs a signal that is not dolby digital 5.1 it switches to prologic mode, but its prologic mode is diffrent from my gamecubes set mode in 2 ways #1 it has the D icon with the word "dolby" and #2 it seperates the surround sound into 2 channels..anyone have any ideas for me?

reciver model:  Sony  Ht-DDW840

TalkBack / Zelda Date Break?
« on: February 12, 2003, 01:28:21 PM »
I called babbages around noon today and the manager said he knew that the street date had been broken by other stores but he was waiting for conformation from Nintendo that it was ok.  I called back at 3:30 and the guy on the phone said even though other stores are giving them out they arn't untill sunday.

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda Pre-Order Discs
« on: February 08, 2003, 02:24:09 PM »
Ok so we all know that these discs will be realised very soon, and we all know that the eb.com site is already shiping them.  But what i dont know is this, do we have to have the game completely paid for in advance.

My local babbages lets you pre-order games for only 5 bucks, so i have 20 down already on Zelda, so i asked the guy today when we can pick them up. He said they already had the discs in but they can not give them out untill next week.  He also said that he wasnt sure what order they were given out in, he told me if they had enough everyone would get one.  But what he wasnt sure of was if you had to have the game completely paid for.

I say that sucks! i didnt put 20 bucks down on zelda so that someone that goes in the day of the pre-order deal could pay more than me and get a dics when i dont!

Has anyone else heard anything else like this?
