I don't think so Mario. If you check here they are reporting it as the first picture of the DS. They just retroactively put the image in every article about the DS, going back as far as November of last year.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Broadband Adapter
« on: November 25, 2003, 12:14:26 PM »
Well, until this is moved, I guess I will help.
The broadband adapter lets your Gamecube communicate with (1)Other Gamecubes and/or (2)a Computer.
Right now there are 3 games that can utilize the BBA. Phantasy Star Online, Kirby Air Ride, and Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. The first one, PSO, is the only official online game for the Gamecube. To play PSO online you need purchase a subscription. I'm not sure of the price but it's about $10-$15. This is an example of the Gamecube communicating with a computer. The Gamecube uses the BBA to link to Sega's servers. The other 2 games, KAR and MK: DD (and soon to be 1080 :avalanche) can use the BBA for LAN (Local Area Network) play. This is the Gamecube communicating with other Gamecubes directly.  The back of the MK: DD manual shows examples of how this can be done. Basically with only 2 cubes you can use an ethernet crossover cable, and with more you need a hub.
That is all the official stuff. Unofficially you can play LAN enabled games over the internet by using a computer running a tunneling program. I was going to refer you to the thread about Warp Pipe but it seems you were the one who started that thread so I won't bother. For more info on how Warp Pipe lets you play LAN games online check their site and read the various FAQS in the forums.

Metroid 1-3 ending images (there is a link within the pages for the specific games)

In Metroid Prime she doesn't take off the whole suit, but if you beat it with 75% or more she takes off the helmet.

Flop? Are you kidding me? Besides having the huge Dreamcast Game library it includes two controllers, a remote control for video cd or mp3 playback, and a car adaptor. I don't think it will flop. I say handheld war because now there is game boy advance, sony PSP, Nokia N-Gage, and Treamcast.

Flop isn't even the right word. This thing will never see the light of day in America aside from the random importer here or there who actually found one for sale, or went to Hong Kong and got one. First and formost; it is illegal. You will never see one in an EB, Bababges, Target, K-Mart, etc, and very few if any import websites will stock them for fear of a lawsuit from Sega. Lik-Sang has already said there is no way for them to sell them. That immediately takes it out of the so-called 'handheld war.' Secondally; even if it was legal and available, it is about as portable as the PSone with the mobile monitor, which is legal, avaiable for purchace everywhere, and has a huge library of great games. Does anyone even think of this as portable? I doubt it is cutting into Nintendo's GBA sales.

Now the N-gage, that will flop

Nintendo Gaming / Games to start costing more?
« on: June 18, 2003, 10:30:24 AM »
Yeah, this should happen right after all the systems drop $50. Wait, wasn't that supposed to happed right after E3? or was it before? or was it last Christmas? Basically what I'm saying is that news stories like this come out all the time (if you could even call them news) and people on message boards like this one get all worked up over it and then nothing happens, or it happens completely different than the analysts predicted (like the $20 drop in PS2/X-Box and the Gameboy Player bundle with the GCN) We should really just stop paying attention to them, they are completely pointless.

Nintendo Gaming / Castlevania
« on: June 12, 2003, 10:26:48 AM »
That sounds like Circle of the Moon, the first of the three Castlevanias for the GBA. It was actually a launch title for the system(and the first GBA game I bought). It's not a remake of the original Castlevania for the NES, but it's still a good game. The majority of the 'the screen is too dark' comments after the GBA came out pointed at this game as evidence, and they fixed the problem with the second Castlevania game "Harmony of Dissonance." The third one "Aria of Sorrow" just came out, and In my opinion is the best of the three.  If you liked this game you should pick up the others.

Nintendo Gaming / D&D Heroes -- XBox Exclusive
« on: May 19, 2003, 07:59:58 PM »
I have a feeling this might be another temporary exclusive game like Splinter Cell was, at least I hope it will be. First off, this game, albeit cool and all, isn't really a big game. It is not going to be a system seller like Halo, Zelda, GTA, etc. Hell, Splinter Cell was a much bigger game, I remember a lot more Splinter Cell hype before it came out. I read somewhere not too long ago (it was probably in these forums) that when a company like Microsoft gets exclusive rights for a game they have to may the company making the game the projected amount that the game would make on the other systems, and this can be a lot of money. I know that MS has the money, but if they didn't do it with Splinter Cell, why would they do it with DnD Heroes. Secondly, this game has been in development for a while. I'm sure work has been done on both the PS2 and GCN versions and I doubt the developers would just let all that work slide. This is all just hopeful speculation on my part and it's unlikely that we will be sure for a while because these temporary exclusive deals have some sort of media blackout stipulation.

General Gaming / Metroid:Zero Mission
« on: May 14, 2003, 09:43:30 AM »
Games Are Fun posted a short Zero Mission movie (it's on the left hand side, scroll down a bit) After watching the movie there is no doubt that it is a Metroid 1 remake. Obviously with some added abilities such as grabbing the edge of platforms like in Fusion.

This is my new favorite band. I also reccomend if at all possible to try and find their first album "Origin" It's just as good if not better than "Fallen"
In case you care, my favorite track off "Fallen" is number 6 "Tourniquet"

« on: February 25, 2003, 10:10:35 AM »
I've been looking forward to this for a while, and I went to an EB the other day and they didn't have any, but I happened to go to a CompUSA yeaterday and they had them for like $4.50 . I almost bought 2. Now I just need to find a few more people to play it with. It's 2-4 players and like Rick said, you don't need an e-reader, but if you are going to use it you only need 1.
