General Gaming / VGA cable issue.
« on: August 07, 2003, 06:01:20 AM »
I sent this message to Goldenshop, whose VGA cable I just got. Maybe someone here can beat them to the punch on the solution?

Hi. I'm hoping you can help me with something: I just received one of your Gamecube VGA cables, and plugged it into my Samsung LCD monitor's VGA input (it also has a DVI input, which my PC uses). I get a picture, and it looks great, but there are about 40 equally-spaced vertical lines in the signal. They're not any color; the picture there is dimmed. Each line is a few pixels wide, and as I said they're equally spaced. It's very strange. This happens on all of my games, and it happens immediately when the system starts. Do you know what the issue could be, and how to correct it? Thanks!

Silly Creative Labs. Seriously.

I'll do that. Find one of those clay pots in Zelda and try to throw it behind the camera or something.

Okay then. So as far as you know, does CMSS use any Pro Logic encoding in the audio signal when in determines what's in the rear channel, or does it treat it like any other stereo signal?

So I want to hook up my Gamecube to my PC. I have a SoundBlaster Audigy (no drive addition or anything). I use an Altec-Lansing analog 5.1 speaker set. So if I were to use an adaptor and plug the audio RCA plugs into the line-in jack, is there a way I can get that sound card to do Pro Logic II? Is there a workaround, or another option of some kind? And what's the story with that CMSS thing it does that seems almost the same, but not? WHAT DO I DO?? I'M LOST AND ALONE!!!

...Thanks.

General Gaming / D-sub mod - DIY?
« on: July 25, 2003, 07:01:36 PM »
Hey hey. Does anyone know of a guide to modding your own D-sub cable for VGA? I found one for the component cable, but apparently it's easier to mod a D-sub, and since I'm hardly an electrical whiz, I thought I'd try that out. Also, where can I order one online so that the shipping to Texas is reasonable? Thanks!
