Nintendo Gaming / RE:The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker General Help

Hi all,

I've got one Triforce scroll left to get, and it's the one found at Outset Island. I can't seem to find it though. I think it might be in the cave at the back of the island, but if it is, I don't know how to get it. Can someone tell me how to get it?

TIA,
Mike

Nintendo Gaming / Rogue Squadron Targeting Computer
« on: August 03, 2003, 01:24:37 PM »
So I'm trying to unlock the bonus levels by winning medals. But I don't seem to be using the targeting computer properly, because I always end up with 0% after finishing the level.
Is it simply a matter of having the targeting computer on when I shoot down a TIE for it to count? What am I missing?

TIA,
Mike

Nintendo Gaming / Japanese Games on NorAm Gamecube
« on: August 03, 2003, 07:06:12 AM »
I'll be moving to Japan in September and the first game I want to pick up for my North American Gamecube is Viewtiful Joe. I'm hoping to use it with a Freeloader disk. Has anyone tried this? Does it run well?

I've heard there are problems running some Japan games on North American Gamecubes. How frequently are there problems? Do most games run well?

TIA,
Mike

More trouble:

I've just arrived on Gale Island, where the statue blows wind so strongly that you can't approach. I've got the super-heavy boots so that I can walk right up to the statue, but I don't know how to get passed it. What do I do?

TIA,
Mike

Fire arrows for ice, boots for wind.

Thanks, but I know that much (the fish told me), but what I don't know is which to get first, and/or how to get it. For example, I can't get onto the fire island yet. I don't have the item required to get onto it (I think -- maybe I'm overlooking something in my inventory?). I need to know what my first step should be after returning to the surface after meeting the king.

Thanks again,
Mike

I've returned to the surface after meeting the king and finding out Tetra's true identity. I'm now supposed to go to the ice island and the wind island, but need to get items in order to get onto these islands. I'm not sure what my next step is supposed to be. I've been wandering around the ocean getting less than ideal advice from the bait-hungry fish, but I still don't know what to do.

Thanks,
Mike

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Not sure if I'm posting in this thread correctly, so apologies in advance, but I have a Wind Waker question:

I've just reached the castle under the sea that is frozen in time (at least I think that's the idea) to get the Tri-Force. There's a statue of Link in the main room of the castle, and I think the Tri-Force is under the floor. I just don't know how to get at it, and I'm impatient to keep moving -- this seems like an important point in the game! Now that I'm inside this castle, what's my next step?

TIA,
Mike

General Gaming / Gamecube as a DVD Player
« on: July 01, 2003, 01:36:47 PM »
I'm thinking of buying a Gamecube. I think I remember hearing once that the Gamecube can act as a DVD player, but you have to buy some extra accessory.
Is this true? Can I watch DVDs on the Gamecube?

Thanks,
Mike
