Nintendo Gaming / Sonys PSP vs. GBA- Does Nintendo have a chance?
« on: May 29, 2003, 09:25:24 AM »
Yes that is a valid point, that making a card port would make it less than portable, but won't they need a memory card port anyway to save game data?  It would be great if they could make a dual port that is for memory cards as well as the GBA games (I got this idea from one of the recent news articles)

General Gaming / PlayStation Portable, a serious contender to GBA?

The thing that I think will be the cause of the PSP not getting very many sales is the battery life.  It uses a disk that must be spinned in order to access.  It also has a backlit screen that also uses up a lot of power.  In order for the PSP to match the battery life of the GBA SP the battery would have to be pretty darn big and it will make the charge times take longer and make the unit a lot heavier.  Not very appealing to the potential buyer.

Nintendo Gaming / Wind Waker 2
« on: May 29, 2003, 07:35:03 AM »
I don't think that they should use the same game engine as The Wind Waker.  If you think about it Majora's Mask used the same game engine as OOT and they only spent about a year developing it so it wasn't that great.  They plan on doing the same thing for the Wind Waker sequal (if it is even a sequal).  I think they should develope a whole new system and take their time on it so they can release it on the next-gen Nintendo console right when the console comes out.  The game would probably be a lot better and they the graphic style would have a much better chance of going back to the real link that way.  Having a zelda game at release would also boost the sales of their next console.

Nintendo Gaming / Is this a glimpse of the future? Blu-Ray Disc ...

I'm all for a 100 layer fluorescent disk in a game console in the generations to come.  They could make it really really TINY and still have plenty of space for any game and it is so cheap to make as well.

Imagine a demo-disk on a blue-ray disk or a fluorescent disk.  They could have a demo for just about every game in the console's library.  Of course this will never happen though because no one will want to put forth the time and effort to make such a massive demo.
