Nintendo Gaming / Tough Christmas Buys.... Please Help
« on: December 19, 2003, 07:55:03 PM »
Christmas is here soon and thus I must get some games. As most of you know I have a GCN and I have narrowed it down between these 4, yes 4. From these I may only get two. I have been debating and argueing with myself but I cant decide. Im a fan of action and RPG, like strategy and thinking in games. Ideally Id like to get one RPG, one Action from these.

-Prince of Persia- Everyone been saying great stuff about this but it seems to easy. Also I dont see what I should be excited about in this game, whats so grand?? Nevertheless it got awesome reviews.... and looks tempting graphically.

vs

-Beyond Good and Evil- This looks awesome, but everyones saying its too short. Gameplay looks terrific, stunned and awed me. Another major one Im debating over. Cant decide between it and PoP or whether I should just get both of them.

and

-Gladius- Id love to get this . A gladiator RPG, lots of strategy. A long game. Sounds perfect for me but the damn reviews are so much lower than the rest of these games. Thats the only thing holding me back.

vs

-Skies of Arcadia Legends- I have no RPGs sadly for GCN and desperatly want to change this. I heard SoAL is a great RPG but Im worried about its overall focus, and its a bit old.

Any help is appreciated, thankyou. In case your wondering Im already getting VJ, MP5, and FFTA.

Nintendo Gaming / will nintendo be back on top again?

Nintendo should fire thier advertising group people and hire someone capable. Advertisments for the GCN have just sucked, esp. at E3 with those fake celebrities.

"Backwards compatibility is pointless. The energy and restrictions to make backwards compatible would mean it wouldn't be worth their while anyway"

Are you crazy!! Backwards compatibility is almost a must for GCN2. Im sure Xbox Next will have it and PS3 already has it.

Nintendo Gaming / Thanks for nothing Nintendo!!!(Zelda 4 Swords)

Was anyone else disappointed with this Tetras Trackers crap. I love Nintendo and own a GCN but honestly this is one of the lamest Zelda games ive ever heard of. I was hoping for this to go somewhat like Majoras Mask, when it was released after OoT, not some halfbaked, GBA, pirate finding game.

Nintendo Gaming / IGN: GC is outselling xbox by 1.5 million!

"... I'll tell you right here and now that trying to compare sales numbers is futile."

Very true. EVERYONE gives different sales figures. It's extremely hard to compare two consoles side by side by sales in just one country, let alone the world. And these "private" organizations that have the "right" figures are almost always affiliated with the "leading" company itself.

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda Quiz!!! Do you know the answers?
« on: May 17, 2003, 06:48:45 PM »
I slipped across some very difficult Zelda questions. Frist of all, I'm in a contest to see who can get the most right. Obviously theres a prize involved. So can anyone help me on these questions?? (Its not like Im posting them all so don't think im cheating, help is appreciated.)

In Super Smash Bros. for the N64 Link's original defensive move was taken out and replaced with that brightly colored orb that all the characters share. What was his origional move?

How many zelda games are there to date including re-releases, and versions?

In Majora's Mask, there was a land mass reference from OoT that could be seen but never reached. What was it?

Which Zelda game allowed you to go on a second quest by entering the name "Zelda"?

Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask underwent four title changes can you name one of them?

According to Nintendo how many reserves were documented about one month before release? -(Wind Waker)

Nintendo Gaming / The ultimate ending to the ultimate game!!!

Il try to answer all questions given the very limited info given at the end of the game.

First of all he didn't say that the wind killed his people, they feared it, but they may have been alive until the flood, when he sais coveted, the word coveted means he had respect for it, he wanted it ardently, according to Websters. From this we can deduce that he liked the Hyrulian winds since they did not bring death, but life. So this story about wind killing his people and thats the root of his anger is balony.

"And why did the wind that brought Ganondorf sand and hot bring Hyrule water?"
Theres no reason to answer your two previous questions since the wind didnt kill his people or anything. Ganondorf lived in a desert. A desert is a harsh climate, if a wind blows theres nothing to slow it down and it can spread heat through spaces fast, at night the desert can drop to freezing temperatures very quickly, im guessing the wind pierced thier homes and chilled them. Hyrule is a diff. atmosphere, its a fertile field country. The temperature seems stable and since its the land the gods made i doubt the wind would be bad there, its pleasant actually id guess.

Also the gods came down and flooded Hyrule to stop (try) Ganon after he broke free again, GANON WAS NOT SEALED UP, since he couldnt take over Hyrule I guess he was just waiting until Zelda and Link came along so he could steal thier crests.

Nintendo Gaming / ***SPOILER*** Confused on ending...
« on: May 07, 2003, 06:40:12 PM »
I'm glad I'm not the only one who knew what was happening at the very end. Link and Zelda set sail for a new land, perhaps to start their own "Hyrule".  Probably going past the islands and out to far sea. That's what I got from it.

It's probably safe to assume that this is the latest chapter in the Zelda timeline for obvious reasons. There are many sequels to this. They could forget Ganon and move on to a worse guy, probably not. Or they could have Zelda and Link find "New Hyrule" and start thier own kingdom thing, then skip a few generations from there to make the game, OR they could leave Ganon in the picture. Im guessing if Ganon is revived it will be because someone pulls the sword out of his head. After all it was the key that locked his powers at the start, it might be the key that locks him in death, or stone. Its important to know that since Ganon DOES NOT have the triforce of power anymore he can be killed. You can bet that the Original Hyrule is not out of the picture either. It's kind of odd that the last thing Ganon chose to say what about the wind blowing, and then he laughs. Maybe his ?ressurection? could have something to do with that...
