Apparently I couldn't supplement my Mario Tennis Open coins by spending 3DS play coins

I know Camelot are making the game, not Nintendo, but overlooking console features like this annoy me. Why impliment a coin feature in the game when the console already has one? Why aren't Nintendo promoting these features more? Mario Tennis Open better have some level of SpotPass and StreetPass functionality otherwise there will be quite a few opportunities missed.

For those of us who walk around with our 3DS and build up play coins, only being able to use them for StreetPass Quest and Puzzle pieces is frustrating. I know a few games like Shinobi, Sonic Generations, DOA and Resi Evil: Mercenaries have used them, and stationary can be bought in Letter Box/SwapNote, but it's still an underused feature.

I'd have loved to have been able to buy kart pieces in MK7, or purchase power-ups in SM3DL. Hopefully Nintendo make use of play coins more in the future, when puzzles and StreetPass quests are completed for most of us.
