Nintendo Gaming / The makers of the Master Sword?
« on: June 02, 2003, 02:16:34 PM »
no, its the possum that keeps on coming to the porch and eating the cat food... no wait, thats what the super soakers are for.

Hey, thats a great idea!!! Lets put super soakers in the zelda games, just so you can get the people in towns angry, like when you hit Orca.  They should also throw in some possums.

You must be like a zelda master to beat the first zelda game with life count zero.
\Anyways, for some reason LttP didn't impress me as much as some of the other FLAT zelda games.  I do agree that AoL was pretty hard, but it gets a lot easier after you learn some moves (in my opinion).

Back to your post,  I think the Oracle games were great.  They did a good job with puzzles. some confused me a bit.  thats good to look for in a zelda game.  I'm only 14, and the first game I played was Links awakening, or LoZ, I forget.  My parents kept me from video games until I was 6, which I got hooked on after I learned how to play them.  I've only been getting better.  That was their worst fear.

I mean, all zelda games are good, its just after a while, they just aren't as appealing.  When you think about it, LttP is better than links awakening, which I found was slow and klunky after playing the oracle games and lttp.  And the Snes version of LttP was better than the game boy, cause sound is better, and theres no fear of hearing link do that annoying shout after every sword swipe.

BTW:  the reason the nes games are harder for me is that they are not always available.  I might have completed them years ago if I hadn't had the nes and all 40 games out at the cabin.  plus, I've started to play LoZ more often because my friend somehow found them on Animal crossing with this device called action replay.

I still think LoZ is hardest though.

-What do you think the hardest zelda game is?I think its the original Legend of zelda.  IT SO FRICKIN HARD!!! I can't beat the sixth dungeon without a like-like eating my shield, and I keep being killed by wizzrobes 3 seconds later.  everything hurts you too much, and it takes too long to buy your shield back if its eaten.  Plus, it is 1 of 2 zelda games I've played and haven't beaten.  It's just too hard.

-How many times have you all died on one file on any zelda game?  when I was 8 and had links awakening I got 375+ deaths.  My next try a few years later got 3.  But I started playing LoZ again and I already have 35+.  Its just too hard.

What do you think was the worst zelda game?  I think it was LttP.

- can you come up with other interesting topics like these, too?

I disagree with you on the mario thing.  Go to the nintendo gallery.  I thing that guy has a striking resemblace to mario with the mustache and everything.  also the other person manny is a cameo appearance of a character that used to be in a nintendo power comic.

you know, I'm surprised that tingle is still there.  Tingleism must be a long hard religion.  I can just see the prophecy in the book of the tingles: "...And every time a man named tingle is born,  a boy will be born 25 years later that 10 years after that will kill the guy that keeps coming back and being evil..."  Some book.

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda Quiz!!! Do you know the answers?
« on: May 18, 2003, 07:43:32 PM »
When you were talking about the games, did you also include the 3 zelda games that were so crappy, they never came out (one of them was called "The faces of Evil").

I know that there are 6 OoT versions (3 normal cartages, master quest cartrige for japan, MQ for gc, and OoT for gc).  I think that there are 4 versions of MM (all cartrage)  2 releases for LoZ (three if you count appearance in an animal crossing game) AoL there was 2, links awakening 2,  OOA and OOS each had 1, 2 LttP, 1 ww (so far).  If you count 4 swords, the three games to crappy to release, and all cameo appearances where you play as link (SSB, SSBM, Soul Caliber 2 at least) thats 30+ releases.  If you count japanese cartriges too (famicom, super fc) there is just a hell of a lot of games (55+?).

you made some great questions man.

I also heard that if you get a picture of Knuckle (the blue dude you can get with the tingle tuner) you get his model, but not link's at the very end.

well, when link is going up in his little bubble, theres an extra bubble of air where the hat should be if he was wearing the tunic.  It comes to a little point in the back.  also, when on the surface of the water and the rest of the end credits, link is wearing his tunic instead of the lobster clothes he wears throughout the game in the second quest.  I guess the programmers just didnt bother to change it at all.

There might be more, but if there are, they are very subtle

I found the site.  If you want the font used in the wind waker, go to:

http://www.kasuto.net/wind_waker.php?main=wind_waker/font.html

You can find the font, download it, and find your own translations to stuff.  It may not be accurate, but its cool. The website also has other really cool stuff so check it out.

Ok, obviously, some spoilers are involved. I'm sorry if I forget something, its been a few weeks since I saw the translations.

First, Valoo basically thanks link.  Im not exactly sure what happened after that, but its easy to find out.

Then the deku tree asks link if he is the hero of time.  then he speaks normal.

thirdly, jabun reasons with the king of red lions (which he calles "Hyrule king" throughout the conversation) why he should give them the pearl.  Before they leave, he wants to know if the king found "zelda."  He believes that he has.

Finally, Valoo at the tower of the gods, I completely forgot. Someones gotta fill in for me.

Also at the end, youll notice some inconsistencies after you turn ganondorf to stone (try to spot them, its not that hard)

Oh yeah, I found a hylian screensaver.  It came with a translation sheet.  If I can find the website I'll post it.

Nintendo Gaming / Is dragon roost island....
« on: May 11, 2003, 07:34:34 PM »
you can blow off trader's hats with leaves...

Also, compare the oot map with the ww sea chart.  look at all of the consistencies with locations in oot (ex: market=windfall, desert colossus=forsaken fortress, forest haven= kokiri forest)

But one thing puzzles me...  When did the tower of the gods appear? When was it built?  The closest it coencides with anything is the ranch.

Nintendo Gaming / Just for Kicks...
« on: May 11, 2003, 07:20:43 PM »
You know, I just found something really fun to do...
Kill everything with light arrows in WW.  It works on EVERYTHING!!!  It can speed up the time if you have a contest on who can get through the savage labyrinth the fastest (another good kick, I can do it in less than 40 minutes).

Also, in majora's mask, after doing the feirce diety glitch (in earlier post by me), go to the town and walk into the maze game area.  Its kinda funny how they treat you as a kid.  Then I walk out and see how long he will keep his legs under the ground (just a glitch, he's too tall tofit through doors)  then I talk to a bomber and get the game frozen, so I have a pretty grand time.

Oh, in WW, experiment with every creature possible how to kill them.  Like you can flatten a wizzrobe in one hit with  the hammer, blowing up stalfos with bombs, and throwing almost exploded bombs into floormasters' hands.

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda soundtracks? Which is the best?
« on: May 08, 2003, 01:47:42 PM »
The wind waker is probably one of the most awesome soundracks next to chrono trigger.  My favorite tracks are The legendary hero,Molgera, and Farewell hyrule king.

theyre awesome

This is a bit off subject, but how do you guys put a little image next to your screen name?

Nintendo Gaming / ***SPOILER*** Confused on ending...
« on: May 03, 2003, 08:32:51 PM »
I think it's good they left the ending open in this game, cause, hey, it doesnt happen in too many games.  its just "mission accomplished, go home party and clean up the house ive not been to in months."  it just doesnt happen.

but they left a good opening for a new quest.

But I didnt catch this: was ganondorf's intentions good or bad?

Nintendo Gaming / what about the gerudos?
« on: May 03, 2003, 08:22:10 PM »
If you read gossip stones in OoT, youll find that every few years, the gerudo's would get drunk (probably, cause they hate men) and go to the market to find dates.

Therefore, them being isolated from men when the ocean flooded, they died out.  This sounds like a reasonable idea.

Nintendo Gaming / What happened to the Kokiri?
« on: April 30, 2003, 02:46:30 PM »
I understand all of the theories, but im going to make you all think:

-How did everything evolve so quickly?

-Where did the gorons come from?

-How do the Man-Fish survive, because they said in the game that the great sea was "empty and fishless"?

SPOILER!
-If Hyrule got flooded at the end of the game, shouldnt the water level in the great sea go down?

and the big questions:
-Who is links mother?
-Who is links father?
I've heard some speculation that his father was lenzo, but it was rumor.  It makes sense, because his model says hes good with women.

Think, think, think...

Nintendo Gaming / Miyamoto again says ALttP is a sequel to LoZ
« on: April 28, 2003, 02:41:36 PM »
Also, concerning the master sword issue, there could have been a new sword forged, for the old sword was forgotten, hence that the old master sword sleeps forever.

Nintendo Gaming / Miyamoto again says ALttP is a sequel to LoZ
« on: April 28, 2003, 02:39:26 PM »
links awakening comes after the oracle games if im not mistaken.

plus, wouldnt it make sense that termina and other places were different coninents?  They say that the hero of time rode about the land in search of adventure.  this didnt limit him to hyrule, so I think that the oracle games may have come before MM, because he may have had to sail from the hylian continent to termina by ship. So I think it fits in after the oracle games, but before MM.

...but its my opinion...

Nintendo Gaming / what about the gerudos?
« on: April 28, 2003, 02:29:28 PM »
no, the traders are the gorons.

Take a close look at them...

20
Another note:

It makes sense that Zelda 2 is last for 2 reasons:

1) It leaves an opening (just diregard the last post for a bit) at the very end.

2) The town's names are named after important people in the legend of zelda timeline, like the town of ruto or darunia.

...but that is just one of many opinions

21
You know,  we still also have to keep an open mind about what games might come next.  So far, I haven't sen anyone leave any open spots for new games.

Anyways...

I think all orders of the games are cool, cause it makes you think.  It also makes you think this way: in the wind waker, there were no gerudos or anything, the gorons were almost extinct, and the zoras and kokiris evolved.  I dont think it makes sense for oracle of ages to come after WW, because there are zoras, and thriving goron populations.  plus Id like to know in these timelines why there are cuccos, then pigs, then cuccos again. It makes no sense.

But thats my opinion...

Nintendo Gaming / what about the gerudos?
« on: April 28, 2003, 01:54:59 PM »
I know we all know what happened to the kokiri, zoras and gorons in the wind waker.

But...

what the hell happened to the gerudos? Here are possible explanations:

- they evolved into a new enemy (like the bobokins or somethin')

- they might not have been part of the group that fled to mountains and were spared

- they turned into normal people

these are just things I thought up in 5 minutes.

IF SOMEONE HAS THE REAL ANSWER OR A GOOD THEORY I'D LIKE TO HEAR IT!!!

what happened....?

One more thing: compare the sea chart and hyrule map from OoT.  You'll notice that there are many consistancies of where the things are.  Windfall island around the market, forest haven near kokiri forest, forsaken fortress near gerudo fortress... even the volcano island is near death mountain!!!  take a look at it.

to add to koopa troopas post, in MM youre able to roll into the right side of sakkon's door.  It takes a few tries, but roll into the little crack on the right side.  Eventually you will jump into the ocean and oblivion, but you can also enter the hideout before it opens at 8pm on the third day.

you know, I havent tried it, mainly cause I dont want to screw up my memory card.  Plus, there really aren't any useless items in this game.

It's worth a try though
