There is no Wi-Fi support. Multiplayer is played on 1 console.

The single player part consists of matches against the AI, of course you can adjust the difficulty of the AI. You can choose between 3 game modes. One of them is called the Pro Mode. This mode should be the most used for single player: Each killed chick on the opponent's side will be replaced by a new one. On your side your chicks won't be replaced, so if you lose all chicks, you lose the game. As a result the aim is to kill as many chicks as possible before your team is wiped out. Of course your records will be saved, this way the hunt for a high score will be a nice aim for each round.

The Pro Mode can also be played in coop with 2 players against the AI.

Oh yes, if two or more skilled players play together it becomes demanding :) And if you have beginners playing it is much more settled.

Regarding the price, as you said, Nintendo will have the final word, so i won't be able to tell anything about it for now...but i think you can expect something in the middle range.

You have to "kill" the opponent's chicks and save your own ;)

Maybe the transitions inbetween the scenes are confusing, we cut single scenes to one big video to show the general gameplay.

Oh yes - and we don't understand why coop is maybe the most underestimated feature for games at all...as it is a sweet variation for multiplayer  :)

We worked on a first ingame video of the game over the last days and it will be up today or latest tomorrow. I will keep you informed for sure, as it is something which will show best what the game is about actually.

DAaaMan64
Yes, the game was available in a flash version 3 years back (and that's why we won't change the name, not because of a trivial video someone made - long time after chick chick BOOM was online ;) ).

And we are glad that you are looking forward to the multiplayer part as it is a very strong feature of the game in our eyes.

As soon as the video is available i will post it here ;)

Nintendo Gaming / chick chick BOOM - our first WiiWare game

Hi guys,

my name is Bogac and I am the designer of tons of bits, a small game development team based in Germany. We finished developing our first WiiWare game a few weeks ago. The game is now at Nintendo waiting for approval.

I was following an interesting discussion in the staff blog about WiiWare games, including the quality, the chances and the problems in this field.

As we are right in the middle of this subject and a member suggested to start a thread about introducing our game, i thought that might be a good idea :) I apologize if it's not the right place for doing this.

So let's start with a few facts as an overview for those who are interested:

title: chick chick BOOM
platform: WiiWare
available for: Northamerica, Europe and Australia
rating ESRB: 10+ (mild cartoon violence)
players: 1-4 (coop, vs)
official microsite (not finished yet, we will add content over the next days and weeks):
www.chickchickboom.com

Short coverage about the gameplay:

- Scenery:
2 teams with 5 chicks on each side of an arena.

- Goal:
Knock out the opponent chicks.

- Offensive Moves:
7 different attacks with 2 upgrades for each attack, making a total of 21 unique attacks to choose from.

- Defense:
Drawing lines in the arena to protect your chicks. For example you can block a falling weight by drawing a horizontal line above the chicks. The weight lands on the line and the chicks are safe.

- Strength:
Multiplayer: can be played from 2-4 players in every combination (coop, vs, 2 vs 1 etc)
Dynamics: line drawing and constantly jumping chicks creates a nice dynamic gameplay with new situations in each round

I don't want to overwhelm you with masses of text, so this should be sufficient for the beginning, though there are many details and other features which add depth and fun to the game (unlockable teams, 3 game modes, 3 arenas, bonuses etc ) ;)

I would be glad to hear some comments about the game (even if it's not playable currently and you can't find much on the website yet).

Thank you!

Hi all,

that is really an interesting coincidence here. I am the designer of a small game development team and we finished our first game for WiiWare 2 weeks ago - waiting for approval by Nintendo. Hopefully our game will then be released the next weeks.

I agree that having demos for WiiWare titles were a great idea - and a totally usual one in the games industry after all. I can't understand why Nintendo decided to take down this opportunity as it is one of the biggest chances for WiiWare game developers out there, unless you are a bigger team like Hudson Soft etc...

I wrote Neal an email with informations about our game, i hope we will have at least a small news or article, so we can get some publicity before the game is out. I wrote to so many news and review site teams and it's weird, that i only get replies from about 10-15% of the sites. Seems that there is a real problem for WiiWare titles not only on the platform side but also in the press.

But still we won't give up, as we believe in our game :) I hope you will see this, too :)

Thank you for this article - and the amount and intensity of the comments is a glow in the dark for me after all :)

PS: Sorry for my English - we are based in Germany, i hope this counts as a little excuse ;)
