Those who played the demo at E3 said that you couldn't select multiple of the same character.  So those early screenshots showing multiple of the same character being played seem to just be "in development" screens.  We'll just have to wait for more information to come from Nintendo to know for sure.

Reader Reviews / Intec Game Screen

Thanks for that great review aoi tsuki!

I'm thinking of picking one up, especially with LAN gaming coming to the GCN...

Nintendo Gaming / LCD screen
« on: May 26, 2003, 12:26:50 PM »
Here is IGN's old review of Interacts Mobile Monitor.  Their review has a movie where you can see the monitor in action.  I thought it looked great.  Since everyone says the Intec Game Screen is even better than Interact's screen, I think I'm going to pick up an Intec when the LAN games hit the GC.

I think these LCD screens are a very cheap and easy solution for those wanting to have some great LAN gaming fun withouht having the big expense of mulitple televisions.

Wario and Waluigi can be seen in the IGN Insider movies on Cube.IGN.com

This site has a picture where you can see Wario, Waluigi and their kart.

Nintendo Gaming / Thanks for nothing Nintendo!!!(Zelda 4 Swords)
« on: May 20, 2003, 03:37:25 PM »
Looking at Nintendo's video of this game.  How can any Zelda fan not want this game!?

Check out that battle on the bridge over the water!  Holy crap!  That is amazing!

Four players on a Zelda adventure with tons of enemies everywhere!  Now that's what I'm talking about.  I can't wait to get this game!

Nintendo Gaming / What's this? Demo Disc only with purchase of GCN?
« on: May 20, 2003, 01:48:36 PM »
To those of you who bought the demo disk, what kind of packaging does it come in?  Does it say anywhere on the packaging something like "not for resale"?  Thanks for answering.

General Gaming / Confused about Star Fox

In IGN's recent update, they confirm that Star Fox 2  and Star Fox Armada are indeed the same game.

General Gaming / Miyamoto's Pac-Man (I challenge thee, tomorrow!)
« on: May 14, 2003, 09:32:26 PM »
Can you give us more impressions of this game?  When you say you won, do you mean you won as Pac-Man or as a ghost?  How are the controls?  How are the graphics?  Do the mazes/levels change?  Is Ms.Pac-Man in the game?  Thanks.

Wow thanks for the link Bill!  The footage looks beautiful.  We finally see some characters switching in the drivers seat.  You can see Baby Mario and Baby Luigi switch just before Baby Mario releases Chomp-chomp. The switching happens virtually instantaneous. Very nice Nintendo!

Holy crap.....someone upload this new footage!!

I like how the passenger characters start out pushing the karts.     Luigi balancing the three mushrooms was funny as well.  The 'Donkey Kong Mountain' track looked like it will be so much fun.  I liked the steep inclines and all the dust clouds the karts were kicking up into the air.

I want this game now!

Nintendo Gaming / What game would you like to see Nintendo make?
« on: May 11, 2003, 08:54:05 AM »
I would love to see the WW engine used to create a new Earthbound GCN game.  Other games I would like to see from Nintendo are:

Mach Rider GCN
StarTropics GCN
Kid Icarus GCN
Fire Emblem GCN
Gamecube Wars

I don't think their will be a co-op feature.  IMO I don't think it would be very fun.  The whole fun of playing MK is driving around AND blasting others.  Why would anyone want to split this up for two people to do?

If there was co-op, that would mean only one person drives (boring) and the other person has to wait around for the driver to pick up an item (boring).  What if the driver only picks up bananas and mushrooms?  Do you really think it would be fun to just sit around and press one button to fire bananas and use mushrooms?

In 2004, no Gamecube game or Halo 2, will outsell the newest PS2 GTA game.  As for the big 2004 games for Xbox and Gamecube, I only see Halo 2 as the big Xbox game.  I think Fable will turn out to be a huge disappointment if it even comes out in 2004.  For Gamecube, the big 2004 titles will be:

Metroid Prime 2
Resident Evil 4
New Mario
New Zelda
Virtua Fighter Quest
Too Human

16
Yes I don't understand why there is this confusion?  You control both drivers in the cart.  This game plays exactly the same like past Mario Kart games.  The only new addition will be one button that switches the drivers.

I hope they replace all the tired voice acting from MGS and replace it with grunts/moans ala the Zelda games!

Nintendo Gaming / Metroid Prime 2
« on: April 27, 2003, 07:39:36 PM »
Most of the "insider information" speculation seems to indicate that the Metroid Prime sequel will indeed have multiplayer.  I have complete faith in Retro Studios.  If they decide to include multiplayer, I'm sure they will make it work flawlessly.  Afterall Nintendo did add multiplayer to Zelda and it worked out perfectly.

Some additions I would like to see are:

Melee weapon - I always wanted to smack some enemies around with Samus' arm cannon.

Grenade weapon - I think it would be cool to launch some grenades.  Imagine bouncing grenades off walls at enemies around hallway corners! FUN!

Nintendo Gaming / Has anyone had this problem with the memroy card?
« on: April 25, 2003, 11:18:23 PM »
Do you have your system modded to play other regions?  Just wondering because if one has a memory card filled with U.S. saves and sticks it into a system set to play Japan/Europe games, the system will format the memory card to make it ready for Japanese/Europe saves.

What do you think will be the eight unique weapons?  Here are some of my guesses:

1. Mario/Luigi: ???
2. Peach/Daisy: Shrinking Mushrooms
3. Donkey/Diddy: TNT Barrels
4. Bowser/Jr.: ???
5. K.Troopa/P.Troopa: ???
6. Yoshi/Birdo: Eggs
7. Baby Mario/Baby Luigi: Bubbles
8. Wario/Waluigi: ???

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo's LAN stratagy - Why?
« on: April 09, 2003, 07:34:01 AM »
Also if Nintendo releases those high quality portable GC LCD screens they showed at last years E3 show, that will definitely help make LAN gaming even easier to achieve!  My friends and I are eagerly awaiting to have some GC LAN parties in the future!  LAN party Mario Kart GC...oh my!

I disagree completely.  People said the same thing when word spread about multiplayer Zelda in Four Swords.  When that game was released and eveyone saw how incredible multiplayer Zelda was, all the earlier complaints about "multiplayer Zelda" went away.

TalkBack / Metroid Prime 2 Poll at Nintendo.com
« on: April 09, 2003, 07:14:38 AM »
I'm sure if Retro and Nintendo decide to add a multiplayer mode to the sequel, they will find a way to make it work perfectly.  How can anyone doubt the talents of Retro after the amazing Metroid Prime?  I have full confidence that Retro will develop an even better game in the sequel.

Also for all those oppose to multiplayer, if the sequel does include this option, just don't play it if it offends you so much.  Don't try to deny those who would appreciate multiplayer, the chance to enjoy it.  And by looking at that poll on Nintendo.com, it seems the majority of Metroid fans do want to experience multiplayer Metroid.
