Yeah the Madden commercials are always awesome (especially since now they have Ricky Williams in it).
By any chance does anyone know where we can see player ratings, cuz all I can find are team ratings.

P.S. When is PGC gonna give its review of the game, and who is doing the review?

By superlink666 and advancedgamer's logic I should've stopped buying Zelda games in back in the '80's because after all, all you do is go around killing monsters to save some girl.Hehehehe

I knew someone was going to post an intelligent comment like that as soon as I started the thread. This has already been discussed before but just in case you can't read well, this year the right analog stick is used giving the gameplay a whole new aspect. There are new franchise modes that have not been used in the previous installments (owner mode) and of course the AI has been fine-tuned more from last year. There's more in the game thats to be had, but its not like your going to listen anyways with your closed-minded ways, so i'll just stop now.
Oh and just to spite you a little more, the graphics are slightly better this year...haha.

Any of you excited about Madden 2004? Stores will probably be releasing it tommorow (monday) night to whoever pre-ordered it.
I just got a brand new 57" TV thats waiting for it to be played on and I can't wait to see it (especially in progressive scan).

P.S. Do any of you know if its going to be capable of Pro Logic II?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Soul Calibur 2 Discussion!
« on: July 27, 2003, 05:02:40 PM »
Soul Calibur II is a must have game. I imported it right when it came out in Japan and it blew me away.

This might be a SPOILER to some people, so beware.

They added a story mode (sort of) which gives the game some depth in that you can acquire new weapons etc. But the bulk of the game comes in the arcade and versus modes. Plus, Anyone can pick up this game and have fun with it immediately.
This is a must have and I think it was also a game which people shouldve imported a looong time ago (its very very import friendly with most of the menus in English).
In August, you guys will be blown away.
P.S. Link is awesome, though sometimes he does strike me as out of place.

Nintendo Gaming / F-Zero Scores?

Has anyone seen any review scores from the Japanese version of F-zero?
I'm dying to find out what it got.

Nintendo Gaming / Gamecube on Tom Green Show
« on: July 24, 2003, 04:12:23 PM »
Yeah he does seem kinda depressed now.  But I still find him funny.
Plus I like the fact that i've been seeing all these games while watching his show.

P.S. Has anyone else noted that he now has this habit of making like weird faces, or like weird motions with his mouth. I have been watching him since the first day he started on mtv and never noticed that until this show started.

General Gaming / 3rd party memory cards
« on: July 24, 2003, 04:10:02 PM »
Don't trust 3rd party memory cards. I stopped using them after the one I had decided it wanted to "corrupt" all my files (especially my madden ones).

Nintendo Gaming / Gamecube on Tom Green Show
« on: July 23, 2003, 07:28:03 AM »
Did any of you see the Tom Green show last night? He had a little segment where he promoted the Cube and the new Rogue Squadron and then proceeded to throw eggs from a basket that was next to all the Cubes.

Plus, i've noticed many more commercials as of late. Maybe they are finally trying to appeal to that 18-24 age range instead of letting the other consoles fight over it themselves.

Nintendo Gaming / no disc error

Call NOA...Just go to www.nintendo.com and you should be able to find the number somewhere.
Plus, I think this topic would be more suited for the tech discussion.

Nintendo Gaming / Adapter to use X-box controller on Gamecube?
« on: July 21, 2003, 11:32:33 AM »
Just duct tape a concrete block to the bottom of the gamecube controller and add some non-reachable buttons. You'll be fine.
And if your picky, super-glue a green golf ball with the letter X to the top of it.

I wonder what the least polished GCN title is *Leans towards new topic button*

It wouldn't make sense to choose a multiplatform game, as those generally have the least polish, because they are made with the intention of porting it to another system.  About the only exception I can think of is Soul Calibur II, which reeks of polish on all 3 systems.

For sure, SCII is up there in terms of polish with any game. The only thing I would have added would've been more interactive environments like in DOA 3. But besides that, the game is as good as you can possibly get (I played it last night for the first time in like 2 months and I had totally forgotten what a perfect game it was).

Well if Nintendo wants to lose the "KiDdEh" image, Pokemon Online wouldn't be the best of ways to kick off an online venture. A online shooter or even a mario kart would be much more than suffice.

I thought this thread was about whether the new football games are worth getting...Not whether you like football.

Not a chance!!!
The playmaker feature (using the right analog stick to tell other players where to run, or who to block) gives Madden a whole new gameplay aspect. This year isn't just a makeover. If anything you should've just given up last years' editions (even though I would also find that unacceptable).
Plus the new rosters, graphics and animations are always fun for me.

General Gaming / Progressive Scan Questions
« on: June 29, 2003, 10:20:41 AM »
Hey, I had one more question about prog. scan. I don't have the component cables or a prog scan tv yet, but just wanted to see what the prog scan screen (where you enable it) looked like. I held B while powering on the cube, but it just loaded up like usual (I had metroid prime in since its prog scan compatible). Does that screen only load when you have the component cables or are you guys able to get to that screen without them?
Thanks alot

P.S. The reason I am asking this question is becuase I'm about to get the component cables and wanted to see what I had to do to run the games in prog. scan.

General Gaming / Progressive Scan Questions
« on: June 24, 2003, 06:26:30 AM »
Hey guys. I'm about to buy a new tv (it supports up to 1080i) and I wanted to know what I needed to play my cube in progressive scan (besides the component cables). Throw me whatever other info you have and/or tips from your own experience when playing it in prog. scan so I could get my cube to look really good. Thanks alot.

General Gaming / Need help to get best picture!!!!!
« on: June 12, 2003, 06:30:57 AM »
After much time at stores yesterday, I have decided on a Toshiba 65HdX82 (its a 65" hdtv). It looked very crisp and the sheer size is what got me hooked. The JBL speakers I had mentioned before were more than adequate for my price range so I think i'm gonna take those too. I've checked online and so far have only seen good reviews about the tv, so hopefully it'll turn out ok. If you guys have any comments feel free to post them. And thanks again Jsasky and TYP for all the info and help.

It totally impressed me, but after playing all my systems on either 13" or 20" (with the exception of the 36" in my parents room that I use once in a while), I'm finally getting a sick tv and want to experience what everyone always talks about. And since this game has such a "fast feel" to it, I think it would be the perfect game to try out the new enhanced visuals that you get with prog. scan.

I think those are a different model of JBL's, but thanks anyways. But yeah they do give them a pretty good review, and in other sites people seem to like that brand too.

In an hour or two i'm gonna go check out all these things at some stores here in Miami so I'll bring back the info.
