Nintendo Gaming / GBA SP
« on: February 01, 2003, 11:08:14 PM »
Yes, that's true about the glare.. But the fact that it protects the screen from getting so messed up is worth it, I think. Besides, the glare usually isn't that bad if you're under the right lighting conditions... But with the SP, you can play it anywhere, anytime and not have to worry about sitting under a lamp. And the fact that the screen folds over means that I can put it in my pocket with no worries about it getting scratched up...

Tsk, tsk... You know what happens when you put a controller in a public place... it gets broken . I'm hoping for a really sweet-looking steering wheel. If it's possible to see what the steering wheels in the cars look like, it needs to be an exact scale replica. Word.

Nintendo Gaming / What ever happened with the Triforce?

The thing that sucks is that there's not a decent arcade for at least 30 miles where I live. At least these games are coming out on the home systems too.. Maybe if I get lucky, I'll find an arcade eventually. I want to play Star Fox Armada and F-Zero AC really badly.

Nintendo Gaming / w00t. First Topic Ahoy.

I like this. A lot faster than the ezboard, and I'm also liking the new banner at the top. "Where PGC readers go to bitch about EVERYTHING" <-best slogan ever. lol. Well, let's see... 2002 kicked ass. Great games. Metroid, Mario, Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil, TimeSplitters 2, Animal Crossing... 2003 looks like it's going to be very promising too. We already have Skies of Arcadia: Legends, and we're getting Zelda (pre-order disc deal=PWN), and hopefully Animal Crossing 2 (supposedly confirmed by NoE to be online), Mario Kart/Golf/Tennis (also supposedly online, NoE), maybe the new Pikmin and Mario games, and much more. I'm looking forward to this year, it shall be a good one. And TEH SS FOUR GOGIAT, congratulations on the first topic. EDIT: Oh, hey, that's cool. It shows you what posts are new when you look at a topic. Nice.

Nintendo Gaming / GameCube's Appeal to the Teen Audience
« on: February 01, 2003, 10:46:44 PM »
Yes, Nintendo needs to advertise the hell out of games that will appeal to teens and adults. The majority of the mainstream gamers today buy stuff based on what "looks cool". They could still make a new, better Metroid commercial and show it way more often (I never even saw the original one on TV), and maybe feature some actual gameplay footage in it, and people would possibly pick it up. So many people overlook the GameCube because they think it's for preteens and younger, and even ignore the fact that a game on that system won Game of the Year in at least 3 different places. It's basically all in the advertising now, and the big N needs to realize that as soon as possible, and start making great commercials and good advertisements for Zelda right now.

We can only hope... I really hope that they can get back up into at least second place (if they aren't right now.. I'm not exactly sure). They have major potential, but if they're not aggressive, They're never going to get back up to where they once were. Not that it really matters to me, personally, as long as I still get to play the games, but they need to take more action. Get better advertisers. Appeal to the "mature" crowd a bit more (no, I don't necessarily mean games like GTA or others with mindless violence or whatever, but more stuff along the lines of Metroid Prime and Eternal Darkness). Decide on an online plan. Nintendo needs to change quite a bit if they expect to reach out to more people and sell more consoles.
