Nintendo Gaming / New Street Fighter Game?
« on: April 22, 2003, 10:46:32 AM »
I think I've 'worked out' wot one of Capcom's Secret games is! Here are the facts:

1) Jean Claude Van Dam (sp?) has just confirmed that a new Street Fighter film is going to be released (See Nintendojo)

2) On IGN in the mailbag today (22/04/03) they have on a list of 'Good looking upcoming games' a "Capcom Entertainment Secret Project"

3) A while ago, maybe just over a year, there were reports that Capcom were creating a special fighting pad for a secret GameCube game, that has yet not materialised

4) There are a few Capcom games 'known' about but not confirmed, they are Project Devil (supposedly created my Mikami, so prob not Street Fighter) CAS Ra (completey secretive, some have thought about Capcom All Stars etc) and Glass Rose (Which may or may not have been that text adventure released late last year in japan and PS2 only called Critical Bullit)

5) There have been rumours (reported in Eds Rumour report on IGN) that we can expect some big franchises from Capcoms other development teams soon...

Anyone else?

« on: March 14, 2003, 07:56:42 AM »
Riteo, heres the deal....

Tuesday, a tabloid in the UK reported that the dixons group were dropping the Gamecube due to poor sales.

Thursday, Dixons said to Cube-Europe.com that they were not dropping Gamecube but considering it. They have sl;ashed the price in their stores of £99 (formely £129) an that includes the free game offer, if sales dont pick up they will drop the Gamecube

On Monday (before the above tuesday) there were also reports from dixon group than Gamecube is selling extremly well since the free game offer began.

This month in europe sees the release of the HEAVILY ADVERTISED RESIDENT EVIL 0, and METROID PRIME. ZELDA is released in may

Nintendo Gaming / Stage Debut
« on: March 02, 2003, 10:53:32 AM »
I just read a D.I.C.E interview with Miyamoto and in it he mentions that his ideal game would be Talent Maker or Stage Debut and that he has had three or four people working on this game to try and make it into an available product!

"and this is not necessarily certain, with Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire versions of Stadium for the GameCube." Shigeru Miyamoto, D.I.C.E

Miyamoto was discussing GBA connectivity and after saying this year they will show FFCC he said this!

And note, he said versionS, not verion, but VERSIONS! :S:S:S

Nintendo Gaming / EA/Nintendo Sports
« on: February 27, 2003, 05:09:29 AM »
A part of the NEWTECHNIX news story today about Shigeru Miyamoto confirming the existance of a Konami/Nintendo joint Metal Gear Solid game (With GBA connectivity), and almost as significant if not more has been overlooked.

A few weeks ago EA pulled their sports titles from Gamecube due to poor sales, the forgotten story was that Shigeru Miyamoto also confirmed that Nintendo are collaborating with EA to produce sports titles which will also utilize GC-GBA connectivity.

This is HUGE on Nintendo's part to realise that they need to aggressivly attract better third party support, dont get me wrong, the Capcom Resident Evil, Namco Starfox and Sega F-zero deals are all great, but they are too little too late, as several third parties are pulling support from the Gamecube, namely EA, Sega, THQ and Codemasters.

The average casual gamer when choosing a system, will always choose the one with the best variety, this being the PS2, the announcement that EA were dropping there sports titles was a huge blow, and GameCube sales are already suffering worldwide.

I dont actually like EA sports titles, they are all yearly installments with minor tweaks to tream rosters and the occasional graphical glitch. but with Nintendo teaming up with EA to deliver these sports titles, the GameCube library will have a varied range of quality sports titles which will easily be superior to the Madden 2001, Madden 2002, Madden 2003 style EA have been rigourlesly following.
