Nintendo Gaming / Wave Race: Blue Storm
« on: June 15, 2003, 07:58:38 AM »
I love that game, the only problem is, once you have become very good at the game, it's too easy.  In hard mode I am able to finish every single race at 1st place.  But  it still is a great game.  I want a sequel but highly doubt we'll ever get one.

Nintendo Gaming / will nintendo be back on top again?

I don't think advertising is the biggest problem because people who are not hardcore gamers or Nintendo fans usually don't care about the gamecube, and ads won't change that.  Nintendo must make games that appeal to them and then market them correctly.  They must also find a way to distinguish themselves from the competition because right now most of the people find titles on Xbox and PS2 more appealing.

Goldeneye better be on the list.  Perfect Dark better not be.

ICO better be in the top 20...........

Why?  Perfect Dark was a great game, better than Goldeneye IMO... especially in multiplayer.  As for the single player, well, I prefered PD's because of the improved AI and graphics, and there was much more place for strategy.

Nintendo Gaming / Animal Crossing 2 news

French website Newtechnix has some news about Animal Crossing 2.

According to them(there is no source indicated but they are usually reliable) Animal Crossing 2 will not be released until 2004 or even 2005, but an add-on to AC could be released this year in Japan.  What do you think of this?

I think it's great news.   They will take time to include as many features as possible in AC2, and hopefully online play for even more interactivity.  The potential of this game is enormous, so it's great news if they take the time to make it a kickass game.

What do you think the add-on could be?  Whatever it is, it will make us wait for AC2!

Did Nintendo ever say online would not be an important part of the future?  All they said was that it was not profitable RIGHT NOW for a company like Nintendo.  I'm not sure they are right about this, though...

Nintendo Gaming / GameCube's Appeal to the Teen Audience
« on: February 01, 2003, 07:40:29 PM »
The Resident Evil exclusive to the cube was a step in the right direction, but they need to do much more to change the image of Gamecube.  They also need third-parties to get interested to the cube.  I have nothing against ports, but a PS2 owner, for instance, would never buy a cube if he doesn't like Nintendo games and all other games are available for PS2.  Nintendo has deals with Capcom, Square, etc.  but they don't seem to care much about the US market and that is a problem.  Also, NOA really needs to be more aggressive marketing-wise.  The Eternal Darkness commercial sucked, and there was no other promotion for it.  The Metroid Prime ad was so-so, and once again, not enough promo for the game.
