TalkBack / RE:First Details on US Zelda Bonus Disc
« on: November 04, 2003, 11:00:28 AM »
I got the link to work first time (lucky me) but did you read what the site said?
They misspelled Wind Waker, twice. The Site says it includes "The Legend of Zelda: Wind Walker Demo" and a "Special The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Walker: The Movie Experience."

I'm usually not one to nitpick but this is a Nintendo game on the Nintendo site.  You'd think someone would catch that.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Onyx and Flame=Dust Free?
« on: September 25, 2003, 01:11:18 PM »
I picked up an Onyx GBA SP at Electronics Boutique the day they started selling them and that particular model had a relatively large speck of dust about 2 or three pixels across although not very large from top to bottom.  I took it back and asked the clerk if I could get it replaced.  She was curious because she'd never really seen that sort of defect in one of the GBA SP's.  So I showed her and, sure enough, she saw it too.

Anyhow, my new one is just fine.  I think it may have a tiny little speck of something or other under the screen but I was really really worried about finding one when I was looking  and I haven't really given it any thought since.

So I guess that some models do have legitimate problems with dust and the Onyx and Flame models are not impervious to this defect either.  Not much you can do about it but hope you get a good one.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: I just ordered the GBA SP Boktai edition :)
« on: September 03, 2003, 01:50:23 PM »
I figured that only a rather limited number of the Boktai GBASP were produced so I find it surprising that you could return it and have it replaced with another.  How much did the system cost you anyway, because admittedly that is one sweet looking color combo, especially considering that I'm kind of undecided between a flame and onyx SP.  Also where did you buy it.

Nintendo Gaming / Miyamoto confirms new Zelda title for GBA

Ah, I see.  You make an interesting point with Tolkien there, I have to say that would be fairly unorthodox to see his works include "cute loveable friendly trolls", so I do see why the Oracle games faced some hostility from longtime fans of the series.

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda bonus disk boxart.
« on: February 25, 2003, 06:05:49 PM »
That's some pretty keen work there on that boxart PelagiCube, and if I had the necessary ink and the right quality and size paper, I'd print that thing out.  Come to think of it, I do have the ink but I'm not sure how well the image would come out on a standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. You suppose it'd work?

Nintendo Gaming / Miyamoto confirms new Zelda title for GBA
« on: February 25, 2003, 05:57:00 PM »
Maybe I'm nuts, but I rather liked the Dimitri and Ricky characters.  The Oracle of Seasons was the first Legend of Zelda game I'd ever played, and I thought it was absolutely brilliant.  I'd often find myself humming along to the charming Subrosian underworld theme.  Personally, I thought that some of the goofy characters were very entertaining, but that the gameplay itself was still serious enough to keep me entranced.  I bought it shortly after I got my Game Boy Advance in June 2001, which also happened to be the first Nintendo system I'd ever owned.  First of all, I'm not 8 years old (16 actually), I just hadn't taken too much of an interest in Nintendo until then.  About two years later, I bought a Game Cube.  I guess that shows just how well Nintendo's "Trojan Horse" strategy worked with the GBA.

I can't really think of anything that I would or wouldn't want to see in the coming Zelda game.  I trust that it'll be a thouroughly entertaining game as most of the releases in the series have been.

Nintendo Gaming / Miyamoto confirms new Zelda title for GBA

Read the news on http://www.zeldauniverse.net/

"...Miyamoto  continued with stating   that   this   game   will  most likely be revealed at the E3  convention in  Los  Angeles,  May 2003."

I'm much too giddy to comment right now.

Nintendo Gaming / favorite Zelda game quotes, anyone?

"tee hee!"
-Nearly every female character in OoT

and Gibdo Master, it's actually Dr. PILL, not Phil.  I'm not sure what inspired the name, but, I did see Wind Waker on Oprah for a split second once.  Oprah was looking for furniture on Wal-Mart.com and for just a split second there was a shot of the screen with the Wind Waker box in the corner. Anyway, just wanted to clear that up.
