Nintendo Gaming / Super smash bros. melee help
« on: March 11, 2003, 02:38:50 PM »
this may sound kind of stupid, but use jigglypuff.  If you hit someone with her down+b attack, it will send the enemy flyin with alot of damage.  You have to have the timing pretty much exact, though.  it works especially well against giga bowser.  It's obviously harder against the other two, since they are smaller targets.  but i guess two is easier than three, and then you just hope you get a few lucky items and try to avoid their attacks while gettin a few hits in here and there. Pokemon really help here.  Just try to float above their attacks while waitin for an opportunity.  At least, thats what i do.  This battle usually takes me around ten min.  but then again ive only done it three or four times.  Good Luck!!!

General Chat / Did anyone get EGM yet?
« on: March 07, 2003, 03:44:49 PM »
Yeah, I'm 99% sure that this code is fake.  Some of the things that you have to do sound kind of wierd and strange.  but if some of you actually want to try the code, here it is:
1.  Start a new save file with any girl and pick your partner as Lisa
2.  Travel only to island locations with no other people.  As soon as you arrive, exit the area.  At the end of the first day, you are forced to play volleyball.  ASAP hit pause and choose "Give Up"
3.  From day two onward, keep going to island locations with no other people and exiting the areas quickly.  End each day by sleeping.
4.  Do this for all 14 days and let the end credits roll without even playing any volleyball.
5.  Now you go back to the save file and make sure it has a time of 0:13 or less.  (I'm assuming that they meant 13 min. but it never really specifically says.  Then EGM goes on to say that you activated topless mode, woohoo, etc, etc.)
6.  Now you continue that save file with any girl.
7.  Open up the item screen, go to the swimsuits, press the Y button on an already equipped suit, and "W" (wear) will change to "T" (topless).  Note: This only works with two piece suits Im assuming since it is only topless.
8.  Now when you start the game, all competitiors in two piece suits will be topless (or so it says).

Let me know if it worked for you (if you even want to try it).  Idk, the two sets of guns in the magazine look kinda similar to me.  Anybody else see this?

Nintendo Gaming / Who Has Done This?
« on: March 05, 2003, 04:01:48 PM »
Who HAS gotten Master Mode on Super Monkey Ball One? I've gotten it on Super Monkey Ball 2 (beat master and master extra on one continue-99 lives helped) but never on Super Monkey Ball. This is like near impossible. If there was a scale of 1 to 100 ( 1 being the easiest thing ever and 100 being no possibility at all as in 0% chance) this would be a 99.99999999999. But there has to be some people whao have gotten it? Right?

In response to the question about the april fools joke, i think it was dead or alive beach volleyball code.  i havent actually played the game and tried out the code, but there is code for see-though swimsuits.

See through swimsuit:
Play as a girl with the Gimlet (Helena), Emu (Leifang), Carnelian (Christie) or another suit with a transparent part. Also wear a transparent visor. Go to the pool and allow your girl to lay on the chair until the menu disappears. Move the camera so that you are looking at the girl's body through the visor. The swimsuit will not be visible through the visor, but the girl's skin will. Small stars can be seen censoring her body. Each girl's stars appears different.

Since there are censor stars here, it would seem kind of foolish that there would not be any on topless mode like EGM said.  I swear i got this code from somewhere else, im not perverted or anything like that to actually play this game.  I swear.  I mean, honestly, who actually plays it for the intense volleyball action?

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda: WW tops 300,000 pre-orders
« on: March 04, 2003, 08:04:02 AM »
Plus, OOT was released and preorders came out right around the holidays, and that had to contribute to some of the presales it was getting.   One of the reason people preorder is so they dont have to go out and try to find it for the holidays, and the holidays are over.  WW sells about 20,000 preorders a day at this rate.  So it should come up around 400,000 to half a million when all preorders are said and done.  It should break the OOT record.  No, I guarantee that it will.

Nintendo Gaming / Disturbing comments-again

Quote

I think our opinion from the beginning has been that The Hobbit, as a novel, is a younger story, if you will, than the other Lord of the Rings stories.

I dont really agree with this statement because, yes the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings were originally written for children back in the mid 20th century, but this day in age i believe that kids would have a hard time reading and comprehending what the stories are saying.  Its a higher reading level than say the Harry potter books which are aimed for children.  In my opinion the Hobbit doesnt seem to be too much different than the Lord of the Rings.  Its the same monster slashing traveling across middle earth.

In response to the 2000 awards, I believe Chrono Cross should have won that year.  Thata game got a perfect 10 from Gamespot,  and I bet you can count the number of those on one hand.  in case you were wondering, Metroid Prime got a 9.7 and Splinter Cell got a 8.7.  Pretty big margain of difference if you ask me.  The only game in recent memory to get a 10 from there was Ocarina of Time.  I forget, was that game any good?

My mom hasnt played video games since super mario world for snes ( the first game we got).  Both my younger brothers play ps2 and xbox alot, but not so much gamecube.  My father plays like one game per system.  It was super mario world on snes, excitbike on n64 and now its super monkey ball on the cube.  My cousins also got into video games cuz of yours truly and snes as we were pretty much the first of our immediate family to own any kinds of video games

Nintendo Gaming / Hardest Single Thing To Do On Gamecube?
« on: February 28, 2003, 01:40:08 PM »
Lemme make myself more clear on what i said about Animal Crossing.  I originally left something like this
"5. Getting every item in Animal Crossing" on the list.  I meant exactly what it says-every item IN the game.  I meant every item you can get while playing the game, not every item from passwords, e-readers, etc.  It would probably be impossible to get every item because some glitch passwords and the such may never be found.  Just wanted to clarify that

I also got bored pretty quick in Starfox Adventures.  I thought it would be better and thought it was a bit over rated.  It was still a alright game and all, just not a great game.  I hated having to chase down all those items.  I would have liked a classic Starfox better.

RABicle, you are right about Super Monkey Ball.  It took me a long time to get Advanced Extra.  Out of all the ones i put on this list, I would have to say this one is the hardest for me, and this is the only one i haven't done with the exception of nightfire because i just got the game a week ago.  But ive gotten expert extra 3 times and keep dying on level 9.  Hardest. Level. Ever.  Anyways, I never got master yet, and there are very few people on this planet who can say they have as you have to beat Expert and Expert Extra with only one continue.

Nintendo Gaming / Animal Crossing: Songs
« on: February 25, 2003, 10:38:05 AM »
There are three songs you need to request to get, otherwise K.K. will never play them for you.  Under the request thing, you just enter the name of the song.  The three songs are Two Days Ago, K.K. Song, and I Love You.  You can also get any of the other songs you want by requesting them, but you have to enter the exact title of the song.  If you dont request a song K.K. just plays one at random with the exception of those three.
