Um, they have slightly with some more mature games, but I don't think thier ovreall image as a kiddy company will change, and I hope it doesn't because they make great games and thats what counts.

Nintendo Gaming / EB gettin Nintendo friendly
« on: March 28, 2003, 04:47:59 PM »
About time.  I still hate EB though.  They have put me through SO MUCH woe.   It took a few hours if not more to get them to accept a gift card of an affiliate (and that was only the start of a horrible night), the hunt for a GCN demo was horrible, and I hate putting up with their arsehole managers.

Nintendo Gaming / Gamecube's casing

Mine doesnt scratch like that.  The only think is little cracks (really little) branching out from the buttons which Nitnendo said was molding creases or something like that.

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo Fans vs. the Third Parties
« on: March 28, 2003, 04:44:49 PM »
I would most definantly not think a game is bad because it is third party, but us Nintendo fans DO have a reason for thinking Nintendo is better.  Because, they are.

Nintendo Gaming / WARNING: Do NOT open the newest Nintendo Newsletter!

I didnt open it yet, but thanks Rick for the info.  Im not going to open it now.  It sounds like it would be something really bad...why would they do that?

I only played a few mins of the SFA demo, but I did notice some striking similairities, like the pirate ship areas, and the use of barrels...

General Chat / Who wants to marry my mom?

Meh.  I don't watch that much TV as it is, and this isn't going to change that.  The Networks are getting out of control with these silly things.  The only show I watch regularly is "24"

General Chat / Time for complaints.
« on: February 23, 2003, 05:17:51 AM »
Well, I understand both sides.  At other forums I visit, Religion threads get locked 99% of the time, not because they aren't allowed, but because 99% of the time, they DO turn into flame wars.

All of those subjects are touchy, and I do understand why they banned them, however, like you said it does take away from intelligent discussion.  There truely is nothing like a good political discussion or anything else overly thought provoking on a message board.

However, though, while on PGC, I will respect those rules.

Nintendo Gaming / Wave Bird
« on: February 22, 2003, 05:27:50 PM »
I didn't hear about this, but WaveBirds are amazing already.  Today I was playing OoT in my room, and I went to the dining room, pressed pause, went back to my room, and the game was paused.

...That never gets old.

General Chat / Hello, PGCers!
« on: February 22, 2003, 05:23:41 PM »
Okay, okay...never mind the custom thing.

But, I do say I have to applaud the thing in the General Chat forum that says that all ediquette rules still apply.  At the forums I go to, newbies often take the Off Topic Forum for granted.

Nice move.

But why is it that we don't get avatars again?

General Chat / Hello, PGCers!

Yeah, post content is more important than visual aide, but you can't deny that sigs and avatars don't make the forums more fun.  And in regard to member rankings, since you don't use post counts, you should at least give everyone a custom title, IMO.

General Chat / Hello, PGCers!
« on: February 22, 2003, 05:21:21 AM »
Hey, I'm penguincube, and I just joined Planet GameCube Forums.  I don't know if you have the same problems with newbies that I encounter everyday at my main forum, but you don't have to worry about me, I may be a PGC newbie, but not to message boards.  In fact, the forum that I visit everyday also uses this same FuseTalk client, so I am already very familiar to how to work the forums (and FuseTalk is the best IMO, so good choice).  These forums seem good so far, but I noticed a few...dissapointing things.   No avatars?  What is up with that?  Avatars are a cruceal part of identifying members.  It gives them an identity.  Since all members have a text based or no sig at all, everyone is the same, only seperated by the collection of letters known as their name.  I also you don't use post counts and/or member rankings in anyway.  Not using a post count system is not necisarrily a bad thing, since that can cause problems, but I have grown accustomed to the ranking system, and since this seems to be a well-modded community, I can't see them as a problem.  Alas, "PGC Member" for everyone just adds to the blandness of everyones anomnitity here.

Will I stay here?  I dunno.  I'll probably pop around for awhile, and if the members are, for the most part, as cool as the members of my forum "back home" lol, probably soo.   Just a little on me, I like...scratch that...love penguins...they are the best animal on Earth.  I have a GameCube and PS2 (and GBA), and my current faves are Zelda OoT, Metroid, Vice City, Sly Cooper, and others.   I just wanted to introduce myself to the rest of the PGC Forumgoers, and I hope I can be a benificial addition to your community.
