Nintendo Gaming / The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker General Help
« on: April 23, 2003, 04:25:54 PM »
Hey, I've got a quick question. On Dragoon Roost Island, eventually in the game some guy appears and he says that he has a job interview and he can't get up there. How do I help him get to his interview?

EDIT: Actually, I just found out when you complete the task of organizing 25 letters, the guy asks you to help out a new part-timer, so when you go out and back in again, the guy that had trouble getting up there is now working. Cool. . .

Hey,

Well, I'm only at the Earth/Wind temples, but I've explored the whole grid on the map, completed most of the minigames/sidequests, and I have to say that Zelda: WW is proably within my Top 3 games of all time!

Basically, what I like is the detail and character interaction (contrary to what someone else said earlier on). Character interaction, especially on Windfall Island (and even more with the pictobox and decorating the town), really impressed me. People have a good amount to say and most of it is interesting. This is the first game to give me a tear, because the part with his grandmother (when you heal her) reminded me of my grandmother (who has since passed away). And did anyone notice that when you get the deed to the cabana, the square on the map changes the island name to "YOURNAME Oasis", so for me it was Cobot's Oasis. Cool. I think I like it more than some other people because I prefer the sidequests and interacting with people more than the dungeons.

What I didn't like was mostly tied with sailing. I think that the warp should have been essential the game rather than something you might find out, and I was forced to changed the wind TOO OFTEN. It became very annoying. Other than that, I was actually hoping for another town like Windfall, rather than most people looking for more dungeons.

A fantastic game, and even though it was released with axed dungeons, we should all appreciate the polish in the game. Wow!!!

Nintendo Gaming / Different outcomes (SPOILER!!!)

This doesn't really coincide with the topic, but I thought I'd add it in this thread instead of creating a new thread.

Has anybody who's visited the Nintendo Gallery on the island beside Forest Haven noticed what the owner first says? He says "we're losing members because of being less gimicky, but we still have a strong following" (along those lines). Is that a parallel to fans of Nintendo itself? I thougt it was kind of funny.

Hey everybody,

This is my first topic, and it's something I've been wondering for a while. In Zelda: WW, when you first visit Windfall Island, you are asked by the rich man and the seemingly poor man about whether you can save their daughters. I said yes to both, and then when the pirates brought them back and I visited the island again, the rich one was mad at me, and the other one said that he recognized me or something.

I'm wondering if anybody said 'no' to them in the first place and what happens? You might be saying "just play it again", but on my first time through, I'm trying to have the whole map explored and I'm trying to find as many secrets as I can, so a second time through doesn't look too good.

Thanks!!!
