General Gaming / Thinking about getting an XBox

Right on Ninja. Once you buy Halo the new wares off and you see just how generic the game is. BTW, Battlefield owns. Getting another system is always a good idea. Just make sure you have enough left to get Zelda or any other games you want left over.

Nintendo Gaming / Are you satisfied with your Cube at the moment?

Are you nuts cryptic? There are many more exclusive titles than just SSB:M and AC.

Nintendo Gaming / Soul Calibur II Question

Each console has an exclusive character. The gamecube's will be Link, PS2 will get hiechi (sp?) and the Xbox's character will be Spawn. Hope this helps...

Nintendo Gaming / How are you supposed to rate a port of an old game?
« on: February 18, 2003, 02:00:25 PM »
It seems like many of the old titles being ported to the Cube are getting low scores because of age. Resident Evil 2 & 3, SoAL and Zelda: OoT just to name a few. Are the reviewers rating the game on the enjoyment factor or just saying, "We have already played it so lets give it a 4.9."? So my main question is, how is someone supposed to go about reviewing an old title? I think they should keep the old scores of their games and maybe subtract a little for outdated graphics and sound because a great game will always be great and graphics don't make a game.

Nintendo Gaming / Capcom should have put more effort into RE:0
« on: February 17, 2003, 02:31:48 PM »
Yeah, I said I enjoyed it but I have beaten every Resident Evil made (except the Gun Survivor games) and the formula got old for me I guess. Would anyone else care to voice their thoughts on the game?

Is it just me or did Resident Evil 0 seem boring, uninspired and the same RE formula used over again? Basically all they added was the ability to drop items. Just look at Resident Evil. It brought new things to the table like the defense weapons such as grenades, stun guns and the frightening Crimson heads which adds a whole new level of gameplay. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Resident Evil 0 but Capcom needs to bring something fresh to the table. Using the same mechanics as the other games had and almost identical puzzles, I found the only reason I was playing this was to uncover the first game's secrets. I am confident Capcom will bring plenty of new things such as the dropping of pre-rendered backgrounds to Resident Evil 4. Who is with me?

I got my Cube around launch and I have been fairly satisfied with my purchase. I have yet to see a title that completely blows my socks off like a couple for the N64 did (SM64 and Zelda: OoT) but I think we are getting a much better suply of quality titles like Metroid, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Eternal Darkness and Resident Evil at a much greater rate. I am hoping Zelda: the Wind Waker will be that game that astounds me but so far I am very happy with both the quality and quantity of top-notch titles released.
