Nintendo Gaming / Sphinx and the Shadow of Set - Worth Getting?
« on: June 01, 2003, 11:00:51 PM »
Honestly, if you're looking for some good 3rd party games, look forward to Sphinx and Prince of Persia, they are both supposed to be great, especially Prince of Persia which I'm looking forward to. They both look good, and they are good games. As long as they don't do a crappy job making them for the Cube, there should be zero excuse for them not selling well, other than lacking advertisement.

Nintendo Gaming / Just for Kicks...

I like to get the giant pig in Outset Isle, climb all the way to the top, and toss him off. Just try it once, it's the funniest thing in the world to see him spinning in almost slow motion as he falls...sadly he doesn't become a giant spot when he hits the ground...oh well...

I love the Multiplayer in Outcast, but no excuse for the weak as hell Single player mode. There are so many glitches, I've had to start levels over and over again because the game decides to stop running, or I walk into an area with a small door, and the NPC won't let me walk back out. The control over the lightsaber isn't what I would like either. I would have liked the fighting styles in the game, mixed with the control over striking points found in Eternal Darkness. That way I could cut a guys arm off without killing him, or cut his head off and shut him up.

The game is average at best, even with multi included, and doesn't deserve a spot on my Top 10.

This is my Top Ten list, from top to bottom.

01. Wind Waker
02. Eternal Darkness (this is a choice based on your taste, some people hate it, I love it)
03. LOZ: OoT/MQ
04. Skies of Arcadia
05. PSO Episode 1&2
06. Star Wars: Rogue Leader
07: Metroid Prime
08: Star Wars: Bounty Hunter
09: TimeSplitters 2
10: Resident Evil

Worst Game I've played for the GC: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast, and Spy Hunter
Most Annoying game yet: Star Fox Adventures

SSBM is a very worthy game to be on my top ten list, but it's not as enjoyable as it is time consuming, and considering that not everyone has the time to do everything in this game, I dropped it off the list. Consider it my #11.

TalkBack / Lieberman Talks Videogame Violence... Again
« on: April 10, 2003, 01:24:54 PM »
I just beat up a hooker a few minutes ago. I got some good cash from her, Lieberman was her last client and he payed her plenty. I hate people who blame violence on the entertainment rather than the parents, or the people who commit the violence.

Nintendo Gaming / Star Wars Games

I have Bounty Hunter, and it's a very good game. It has plenty of cool extras, and the only real problem is a slight lack of attention by the creators to detail. But, overall it's awesome. I just rented Jedi Knight, and it's OK so far, but I haven't gotten any Force Powers yet, I just started playing. Never played Clone Wars, but I'll be renting that next. I'm a big Star Wars fan myself. Rogue Leader is still the best, I think, in quality.

TalkBack / Rogue Squadron III Confirmed

Please, no more Movie recreations! I've only read about...10-15 Star Wars books, including the Han Solo Trilogy, and I have to say that the Falcon is a faster ship, and is built for fighting as well as transporting. The ship should have been much faster and Han Solo isn't too cheap when it came to the shields on his ship, so they should be much better than X-Wing shields, and slightly weaker than Y-Wing shields. Also, Chewbacca is not that bad a shot from what I've read and the "Automatic guns" on the Falcon were horribly inaccurate.

I would love to fight Coral Skippers, but I am not a Jedi my friends, and I think that would be a bit tough to recreate in a game, at least the fighting in the first few novels of that series. I just want to see the new model X-Wings, and some original missions, or novel based missions with good use of the story provided by the novel.

Oh, and I honestly hope that Factor 5 is making more than one game, and that the other game is not Star Wars based.

Nintendo Gaming / Skies of Arcadia 2
« on: March 17, 2003, 06:29:09 AM »
It's got to be on the GC. They canned the PS2 version of Skies in the first place. Why would they bring a completely new game out for the system when they didn't even want to work on a port for it? It wouldn't make sense....not that Sega doesn't do things that don't make sense, but you understand what I mean.

Oh, by the way. I'm 100% certain that had PDO been made for the GC, it would have sold exceptionally well, and I'm also sure that sales of Skies must have had some positive effect to prompt Sega to make a sequal. I heard it was something like 20,000 in two days....or something around there. Hopefully it breaks the 200,000 mark. I hope the game sells on word of mouth since Sega is doing a half-ass job putting commercials out there...as a matter of fact, I've never seen one Skies commercial unless I downloaded it.

I'd like to agree with you LMSx, Sega needs to put a lot more land masses and add 3-D clouds. Also, Vise carries two blades, and I would have loved if he could upgrade both seperately. And, the final boss fight in my experience was just too darn easy, maybe I leveled too much for my own good, but he hardly layed a finger on me before he was dead. I'd also like a more complicated magic system which allows you to apply magic spells to the weapons. Such as, if you have the Blue Moon Stone equipped, and someone casts the power of the Red Moon Stone onto your weapon, you could attack with a Whirlwind of Fire...just an idea. I'd also like to see Vise gain the ability to hit multiple times in one attack, without having to be a special.

PSO is more than a little longer playtime than Skies. I've played for well over 400hours, compared to my 60hours on Skies. Still, Skies is the better game IMO. But, I still play PSO because it's extremely addictive. The monthly payment isn't so bad if you have a job anyways, or if your parents pay it for you without complaint.
