Nintendo Gaming / Dolby Pro Logic 2 HELP
« on: November 21, 2003, 04:06:38 AM »
I just got a Dolby pro Logic 2 system last night

Link

I've been trying to get my Gamecube to work with it. I've been using the surround sound tester from Soul Calibur 2 but it seems that  cannot get it to work properly. I'm just wondering if I'm missing something? Do i need to activate the Dolby Pro Logic on the Gamecube also or is there an option for that in the Gamecube setup sceen? Or maybe i need to hold on a button while starting the Gamecube.

Does anyone know about how to set it up properly?

Thanks.

I had the same problem with my gamecube at first but then after sending for FREE to nintento for repair, I never had that problem again. it's been about a year now and my gamecube has not crashed on me since then.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:F Zero GX VS XGRA
« on: September 23, 2003, 05:18:31 AM »
yeah I understand that they are both different games, but i like speed. Since XGRA is actually slower then XG3 then i don't think that it delivers. The only things that really attracts me so far are the graphics. The background looks great. So i'll probably just rent XGRA.
Thanks for your input.

I just read the reviews for XGRA on PS2.IGN.com. It seems the game is much slower then F zero and it runs at 30 frames per seconds, somewhat unstable. Now Acclaim claims that XGRA is being delayed for the cube because they are still tweaking it. Well I really hope that the fix the frame rate, and perhaps even pushing it up to 60 FPS.

I own F xero GX and i'm interested in XGRA. I know the Gamecube version is not out yet, but does anyone who owns the PS2 version along with F zero can give me an input on how both games stands against eachother? Which is faster and which gives an overall better gameplay experience?

Ok I need some inputs here.
I recieved the component cables this morning and I've tested it. I don't know if it's just me, but it seems that S video is still better. I used both the s video and the  component input together and I've been comparing them. The colors on the component seem a bit darker then they are on the S video and I'm actually liking the S video better. Maybe I have to get use to it. Am i missing something or is it just me?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Onyx and Flame=Dust Free?
« on: September 14, 2003, 04:59:40 PM »
I've never had that problem myself. I don't know if the onyx and flame have been fixed for that matter but that would be nice. I just bought a Flame and so far the screen is dust free.

Thanks AgentSeven, very useful site.
Nintendo still hasn't ship my order yet. I'm waiting for an email from them. I'll most likely get the cable sometime friday or next week.
Griffin I'll let you know about it as soon as I get it and test it.

Nintendo Gaming / Component Video Cable

I just got myself a 27" RCA TV. Now it's not a HDTV nor a EDTV but it does have Component Cable input. I"m currently using the S-video input for my Gamecube. I think that the graphics look pretty nice like that.  Do any of you guys know if using a component cable will still improve the graphics over the S video even though the TV isn't HDTV?

Nintendo Gaming / Mario Kart Discussion (TALK ABOUT MARIO KART HERE)

Interesting concept. Maybe the kart will behave differently in the jumps depending of who's riding it and how heavy it is.

I wonder if the fans will react to Big Boss the same way they reacted to Raiden?

21
Well SK is really good at sanity effect. I'm sure they'll show some innovative ideas on the Psycho Mantis fight.

22
Myamoto is well known for his innovative ideas. I'm sure that we can expect a WOW factor from it.

23
Metal Gear Solid has always been about real time cut scenes. FMV is just an add on. Now that I think about it SK shouldn't have any problem using only one disk. Metal Gear Solid 2 porbably only uses 1/3 of the PS2 disk.

24
Remember that ED had grainy movies because of the small size gamecube disk. I really hope that SK doesn't get shy about using 2 disks if necessary. I'm really looking foward to some nice quality movies in addition to the superb sound and voice acting delivered in ED.

Ninja X I think that was a mistranslation of a japanese article.
