Nintendo Gaming / RE:Nokia N-Gage v.s Game Boy Advance SP
« on: August 30, 2003, 09:35:41 AM »
N-Gage will fail.

It's just too expensive, who would buy it? this is a GAME cell phone, made to sell for most likely kids, and what parents will buy their kids a $300 phone? maybe some rich parents but that's about it, but even some rich kids will sway from it because it's is just too ugly.

Most people want slick looking cell phones, N-Gage is far from it. The novelty of having "a phone in a game machine" will run out soon, soonner or later they will buy another lighter, slimmer phone and just carry N-Gage as a portable game machine.

But I am sure whoever will make it better in a few years, at lower price, but for now, it's just a "nice attempt".

I will enjoy GBA SP($100) and wait for Sony PSP next year with the $200 I saved from not buying N-gage.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:GBA SP display flaw??

I've never noticed it, so I just had to try on Castlevania map, and I DO see it.
Doesn't really bother me at all though, during the game I don't see any ghosts image.

Great game anyway, I am having a blast, I can't imagine playing it without a light. I'm definitely picking up the new Castlevania after I'm done with this game.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:GBA SP serious dust problem...

The dusts are "under" the screen, which means I will have to break the SP open to wipe them, and while doing that I could get more dusts in even if I try hard not to.

PIAC,
Cool, it's good to hear Nintendo is working on the problem.

Johnny,
whoa! a scratch inside? why couldn't your friend exchange/return it?

I just exchanged my GBA SP, apparently they had one extra platinum left.
But unfortunately, my exchanged SP has dusts again... although unlike my first one which had two right in the middle, and three more up and right, this one has 3 very tiny dusts on right corner down and doesn't bother me at all while I'm playing.

Hopefully, it stays that way and I don't discover more dusts from my SP.
I have never been so dust-phobia in my whole life LOL.

Anyway, I LOVE GBA SP, the backlight makes the game playing SO MUCH better.
My old GB classic games are much easier on the eyes to play on SP, and it's simply awesome to play anywhere anytime without looking for lightstand or attaching a hideous light accesory+more batteries.

Now I found two more dusts...
I am thinkning they were probably already inside before I bought it,(but not behind the screen, maybe corner of where the light is) and as my GAB SP gets played and moved, dusts are moving towards to behind the screen, that's my thought...

Nintendo Gaming / GBA SP serious dust problem...
« on: August 27, 2003, 07:58:39 AM »
I bought a GBA last night, and I have heard about the dust problem here so I thoroughly checked it while playing a game with a dark background(easier to detect dust).
I found one right in the middle, it was the last platinum in the store so I was not sure if I should take it back, I figured they would only let me exchange with the cobalt one which I don't want.
This morning I found ANOTHER dust, on the right side of the screen, and just now, I get yet ANOTHER dust on the top of the screen....
Like I said, last night, I've checked like a hawk for dust and played long hours and only found one dust, so the two more dusts definetely came in later.

Before I go return my GBA SP, I wondered if anyone had the same problem as mine,
does your GBA SP get more dusts behing your screen as time goes?
