General Gaming / RE:1 Million People Are Using Xbox Live

I think the people accussing the artical of spinning the truth, are more guilty of trying to spin this artical into something negative, themselves.

General Gaming / RE:Xbox2 = No Hard Drive?
« on: March 08, 2004, 01:25:59 PM »
The hard drive is awesome. You can use it for more then just game saves. (even those are pathetically enough to overload a memory card). I have new levels, soundtracks, and have alot of level replays in certain racing games saved on mine. And as many play replays in NFL Fever as I want. I wouldn't be able to do some of those, and very limited of the others with just a memory card. Those things are pathetic and I hope not to have to deal with them again. The convenience, price, make them worth it. And the fact that you don't put down money on something that may crap out on you. I can't see anyone that has actually used the xbox hard drive, much less to its potential, saying it was a mistake. Yeah MS really dropped the ball on that one...

I wonder what the concept will be? Just use a wrestling engine, but take place in a basement and secure the rights to edward norton and brad pitt? I've never heard of this before.

You should try splinter cell if your looking for realism.

Personally I wouldn't buy an exact remake of goldeneye. Wheres the innovation in that? I own an N64 already.

Really, now. Who would want an exact remake of goldeneye? Anything that was revolutionary then, is nothing new now a days. As it should be. So why would just having the same exact game for 7 years ago be something interesting? (Jeese, that games older then I remember!)

Innovation is far to strong a word for some of those. And a few are just based on your opinion.

Oh really I thought it got a few extras when it was realeased last, I know the ps2 had an extra on the disc and xbox will have a total of 3 now, if not already then in a month or so, through xbox live.

How does the sticky bomb work though?

I wish there were a cheat code or something to get all the gadgets or something when you beat the game, it really is fun going back and playing the same good with so many different scenerios.

If it got a good port which people have said it probably beats just the ps2 version. If it hadn't it would have been just on par with it.

What extra levels did the gc version get?

Also, my most solid feeling for saying it was made by a french team, which I had always thought it was, was becuase I new a different team was doing this one. Only becuase that was one of the first things I heard when this game was annouced. But maybes it that different aspects of the game being produced by a different team that was confusing. I'll ask around, I wasn't positive on the matter.

Okay I just verified, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, is being made by the people who handled the ps2 port. I read this on a xbox board so I imagine this was also the same ones who made the gc version as well.

I was pretty sure I had remembered the original was made in france, also further cememting this the creators of it talking in the behind the scenes crap on the disc have french accents.

So basically yes, is a different team making the game.

It is splinter cell 1.5, not 2. Don't know why one guy suddenly said it was a minute ago. sarcasm or what I don't know.

I think becuase splinter cell: pandora tomorrow stresses more on mulitplayer aspect so it is a side story.

Also becuase this one is being made by the canadian team and not the french one. Or maybe I have the two reversed.

I did a whole report a few years back about hdtvs and how they would be the standard by 2006, but until prices and people can actually start buying the things I don't see adoption happening that soon.

I think he was look at the bigger picture like attach rate and sale of games. Were money is made.

But if we wanna look at units sold, then yes you are right.

I wonder why they didn't make the cases smaller originally to take advantage of having small discs. They originally talked about being able to put them in your pocket and stuff and I assumed they would have dont it.

But I would think on a smaller screen the distortion should be less noticable on a smaller screen.

Ook, how can you stand stretching for a widescreen? The one in our car is technically widescreen (althouh its only like 7 inches) and when I play some dvds that are 4:3 only it is painfully clear.

Well your right in the sense that the exlusitivity would help more, but he is right that its now its less of an insentive to get a ps2 if those were some of the big games you were interested that used to be only on the ps2.

I've still been seeing ps2 exclusive-implied ads for all the ea ads I've seen, even when there on all the systems.
