TalkBack / Re: Super Bomberman R (Switch) Review
« on: March 07, 2017, 02:46:39 PM »
Doesn't sound like it's worth $50.  I think Bomberman Generations will always be the high point of the series for me: fun, involved single-player mode with pick-up-and-play goodness in multiplayer (and lots of modes).

Thanks for the info.  I thought Twilight Princess's dungeons dragged on for too long, so the more reasonable length is great to hear.  It's also great to hear of a convenient save system, something past Zelda games have lacked.

Just a few questions: How does saving work?  Can you save the game whenever you want?  Also, how long are the dungeons?

Anyway, great review.  This is the first time in over a decade I've been excited for a Zelda game.

How the heck did nobody at Nintendo realize that being unable to perform a natural running jump was a design flaw?  Well, hopefully it will be fixed one way or another.

Details about the Virtual Console should be coming now, not "in the future."  Ugh.

Thanks for the heads up.  I got to just use my Nintendo Network ID to keep things simple.

I hope there is a pure Tetris mode

There is.  Check the Wikipedia article on the game for more info.

I love how the cute designs come out after I buy the system...

Is there a character I'd really like to see in this game...?  Nah.

I loved Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Highly recommended!

TalkBack / Re: How Nintendo Can Sell a New Handheld Alongside Switch
« on: November 04, 2016, 02:55:11 PM »
I could imagine Nintendo selling a "Switch for Kids" that's smaller and doesn't have detaching parts.  It could have a less high-tech screen to help keep the price down.  This would prevent developers from having to water-down games to fit the kid version of the system.

I've imported two games in the Ouendan series and two games in the Puyo series.  I hope they lift region locking on the next systems so I can keep playing Puyo...

Is this the first officially announced NX game?  That would be an interesting historical note: Sega beat Nintendo to it.

Anyway, Generations was fun, but pretty short (unless you try S-ranking all the dull or irritating filler missions).  I hope this improves the formula.

I'll just wait for Sun/Moon.  This sounds more like work than fun.  I'd rather just enjoy the real scenery when I'm out and about, not goof with my phone.

No Dream Events.  Don't these people understand that sequels are supposed to add to games, not subtract from them?  Looks like we'll just be getting another mediocre game, even though these stars deserve so much better.

91
"Fleshly Souls"?  "Bony Spirits"?  Do they want people to make innuendo-laced jokes?

92
I wonder if the ESRB will slap an M rating on this one too.

I still haven't completely wrapped my mind around how stupid Nintendo is acting now...

^ Thanks, I found the link. :)

Hmm, I made the purchase without creating an account... Does that mean I can't get the additional games?

Thanks.  I guess I have a more general question too: Is it worth playing the original Shantae, or should I skip ahead to the Shantae 2 Director's Cut that came out recently?  Will I miss much in terms of story?

Are there any major differences between Shantae on the Wii U and Shantae on the 3DS?  If not, I'm thinking of giving one code to a friend.

Umm, you gave your favorite game of all time an 8.5?

And personally, I hate grinding with a passion, so I'd say that settles things for me.

"Not many grand minigames."  That kind of sums up this whole series.  I'd love to see one of these be truly fun, but I don't think Sega plans to put real effort into these.
