Nintendo Gaming / RE:So who actually liked Geist?
« on: June 06, 2006, 02:04:56 PM »
Overview:

I thought it sucked. The controls were outdated, graphics sucked, and when you were a ghost, it still felt ( to me) like it missed something. Great concept, bad execution.

I read something by nintendo saying that they are considering letting you watch tv on the ds, and being able to go on the internet. It wasnt much, but they said it would most likely ship to japan first. I havent heard anything since those few months, has anyone else?

Heres gameplay for Deep Labyrinth (or whats known):

You use the d-pad to move, stylus/touch to interact with objects,(example: people). Its in first person view, with four icons to the right. The first is a sword looking symbol, and when pressing it, brings out a sword(duh). It moves with the movement of your stylus on the screen.

The second, which is unknown to me of what it is, lets you cast spells. When you press it, a grid fills the screen, and each spell is from a particular symbol called a "Kirie". You locate these on tablets scattered across the world. To cast one, you trace the Kirie, and by doing so, will consume some of your mp.

The third, looks like a shield. Pressing brings up a shield, which is of course, used to absorb attacks.

The fourth and final icon looks like a pocket. When pressed, it brings up a kind of menu that can be used to store items and such.

Also, you can upgrade and find new weopens.

Heres some info on the story:

You begin the game as a boy named shawn on a car ride with his parents and ace, his husky. Things get awkward with the parents, and a tire blows. As they get out to change it, ace runs towards a dark and gloomy house in the distance. The parents run after the dog, leaving shawn in the car. He waits a while, and with no return from his parents and ace, decides to investigate. He walks to the house, opens the door and finds a giant portal that sucks him in.

He wakes up in an exotic garden, and a pink elephant man descends from the sky. He tells shawn that he has entered the gods realm.

The place he was transported to, is called Vimana, or "airship of the gods". A place where emotions and human memories go to be removed, lest they engulf the world.

The elephant then says he is through with shawn, and that his guards will soon arrive. Instead, you meat a purple platypus named Moccho, who saves your game. You can then notice many mice. They give you helpful advice, and gameplay tips.

                                                      You then begin the game.
