Nintendo Gaming / Australian Gamecube sales

http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2003/02/05/1044318649133.html

For the month of January,
PS2: 22,060 (Total 707,891)
Xbox: 12,206 (Total 226,412)
Gamecube: 1,569 (Total 58,916)

I cant believe what is happening to people in this country, everyone who i talk to about consoles has only heard of xbox. WTF, microsoft are &*)*$(& brainwashers! When the console with the best games is the worst selling major console in Australian gaming history, you know something is wrong with this sh!tbox country. If only Nintendo Australia put a GOOD ad on tv every once in a while, if i was a marketing guy for Nintendo Australia, things would be VERY different! Why is this madness happening, MAKE IT STOP! *breaks down in tears*

Cru_Jones83, Mingesium didnt copy and paste the whole article, so it's ok. Anyway, it looks like Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire have almost outsold Pokemon Gold & Silver! Who were all the people who thought Pokemon was a fad, cmon, stand up, dont be shy.. *watches as 50 people stand up in shame*

You know, a NEW, INNOVATIVE, ADDICTIVE, MIND-BENDING, puzzle game. Makes you think, but also involves action, and doesn't get tedious, and things vary from match to match.

Yeah, and they could call it Pikmin! Brilliant!

Nintendo Gaming / The Wind Waker to recieve "unprecedented" score from EGM.
« on: February 06, 2003, 09:19:11 PM »
I think "unprecedented" means it gets a low score, i HATE magazines/websites that try to be "different" by giving incredible games low reviews *cough* Gamesdomain *cough*. If its good, rate it highly, that what i think. Anyway, if there is any game that could get an 11, its Wind Waker, waiting for this game to come out is more painful than nailing my genitals to a railtrack and getting them run over by 100 trains!

Nintendo Gaming / Too Human Hype Thread!!!!!!!
« on: February 05, 2003, 10:16:05 PM »
http://cube.ign.com/articles/135/135333p1.html

IGN have an excellent preview of Too Human, anyone interested in it should check it out.

Quote

One would think Too Human is just a shooter of some sort, but it's being engineered as part of the action/RPG genre. The role-playing aspects seem to be the most interesting. You don't spend hours conversing with non-player characters (NPCs) like most RPGs. That aspect is certainly there, but it's not the focus. Instead the progression of your character's skills is where you'll role-play the most. Naturally there will be plenty of weapons, but the cybernetic upgrades will play a very integral part to the experience. For instance, if you get an optical implant you will improve your ability to target enemies more accurately. No doubt Silicon Knights is coming up with some very creative upgrades. This all effects how the game unfolds, too. It is said to be non-linear, and what you do has an impact on where you go next. Perhaps if you upgrade intelligence more than strength you'll be better at breaking into buildings with stealth. This is as opposed to loudly gunning your way through the front lobby. All the choices you make will effect your game path. If Silicon Knights can deliver on this promise, the replay value will be astounding.

OMFG, WOW!!! This game will be the BEST GAME EVER! Click on that link and check it out, AWESOME!

From IGN's mailbag,

Matt from IGN hinted that the GC version of Splinter Cell will have levels and extras not seen in the Xbox version or even the PS2 version, and also it will have "rocking" graphics. Ubisoft always make good ports.

Nintendo should have put "Game of the Century" on the OOT pre-order box, i recall numerous publications praising OOT as game of the century.

Anyway, good thread RABicle, go away yanks!

EDIT: Oh yeah, does anyone know when the next Nintendo gamer will actually be on the shelves, the only one that i can find is the Metroid Prime one, its says the next issue should be available January 29th, but it isnt.

DAYUM!! Sony and Microsoft = Nintend0wned! I hope Eternal Darkness wins best story, it certainly deserves it, and best sound too. LOL at Splinter Cell and Vice city being nominated for innovation! Why does Metroid Prime have to be in the same category as Timesplitters 2, i want TS2 to win something.

Nintendo Gaming / Will Zelda: Wind Waker break sales records?
« on: February 03, 2003, 09:27:34 PM »
Quote

Well, theres going to be a backlash...and nintendo is gonna feel it. I think after wind waker fails..and it will(even if it is a great game) Nintendo is going to start doing some crazy stuff. Really the man every one in the industry should be fearing in 2003 is Satoru Iwata.

Excellent post. While i think that The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker will be a HUGE success, i wouldnt be disappionted if it flopped. Why? Because that might be enough to unplug Nintendo's heads out of thier asses (the marketing guys, not the developers, HELL NO). The results would be interesting. Nintendo would go all out and advertise Gamecube everywhere, offer 4 free games with Gamecubes, buy developers left right and center and make quality game after quality game etc. But seriously, i can guarantee that Wind Waker will be incredibly successful, my local store, in AUSTRALIA, has pre-orders for WW sold out! SOLD OUT! I went to pre-order it the other day and they said i couldnt because all 80 copies had already been preordered! I went to a different EB and luckily they had a few left so i did get to preorder it. And also, the pre-order bonus disk hasnt even been announced for Australia yet! It appears that the exact opposite of what i thought would happen is happening, casual gamers really like Wind Waker And also, i think that Nintendo America have an EXCELLENT advertise campaign coming up for Zelda, combined with the bonus disk, buy one get one free deal (GC, Metroid and Zelda for $200 ) and the actual gameplay of Wind Waker and you have the most pre-ordered and possibly the highest selling game in videogame history!
