And everything else Origins came out on of course.
I think I will buy it used, because WB screwed us on the AO DLC. Also, I never had a real bug issues with Arkham Origins but a lot of people did and they stopped patching the game.
edit: DANG IT! I think this is digital only. Now how can I get the game and stick it to WB Games? :@
So I stopped by my local Cost Plus World Market and decided to try a few of these imported candybars. I think they are supposed to have this 'vastly superior' European chocolate. Here is what I got:
Yorkie
This is a pure chocolate bar, segmented into chunks. It's not bad, but Chocolate tastes a little cheap and a little too sweet.
Lion Bar
This was pretty good! The cookie thing in the bottom was interesting and the caramel was thicker like a Rolo instead of a typical candy bar. I would like to find the Peanut version.
Aero
This was weird, but in a good way. The bubbly texture makes it very light, but it seemed more crumbly than smooth when eating. Maybe it wasn't fresh enough?
Isn't that weird? If you traveled back in time and told me there still hadn't been a sequel to The Adventures of Link by 2013 my mind would have been blown. Goodbye Link, we will probably never see you again.
Every other Zelda game has been a prequel!
This thought was brought on by this buzzfeed web site laying out the timeline. What a weird way to build a franchise...
I'm not much of a graphics whore when it comes to games, but I do find it interesting to see what technical achievements developer can do, especially on "limited" hardware.
Enter Ironfall. admittedly it looks kind of generic, like a rip off of Gears of War meets Red Faction, but we rarely see this kind of game on the 3DS. Also the 60fps is impressive. Also the dual screen rendering. Also the destructible environments.
Picked this up at Best Buy today, came with the Deathstoke Challenge Pack code.
Played the intro mission. Impressions so far:
- The combat is very similar but seems faster - The lighting is nice - Textures hold up well, even zoomed in. - No collectibles so far - Batman's voice is decent - Alfred seems to be wearing a cheap toupee.
In 2012, The Wii U truly ushered in the next generation. THE GENERATION OF DELAYED GAMES
You though Rayman, Pikmin 3, or Deus Ex DC were bad? Hold on to yer butts!
I bet we'll have at least one more major delay for this Holiday season, Ubisoft's The Crew for Xbox One was expected to be Q1 2014, even though Ubisoft's website still listed it as 2013. It will now be Q2 2014 or later.
So did they thumbs down Xenoblade and Last Story too? Time for Broodwars to call for some more firings.

“Well, actually we have an evaluation system in place here,” said Leslie Swan. “And through that process we get the game in, do an evaluation of it to determine what we think the sales potential is, and it comes down to essentially if we don’t think the sales potential is great, we don’t do it.”
If you didn't know, Leslie Swan voices Princess Peach
Unity will be the game engine of this generation as much as Unreal 3 was the game engine of last generation.
A lot of the big boys are switching to in-house engine to save on licensing fees and Unity seems to be doing all the right moves when it comes to indies. It's probably the most cross-platform 3D engine ever created.
This goes hand in hand with my prediction about indie developers rising to dominance over the next few years. I bet most platforms will have about a 70/30 split on downloadable titles versus retail titles by the end of the upcoming console generation.
It seems fairly obvious to me. Maybe my prediction isn't so bold.
Okay, so on three games now, I have an issue where the voice work for a cut scene will drop in and out. The rest of the sounds are fine; background music, sound effects, ambient noise, all good.
Is this a known issue? an HDMI cable problem? A sound channel issue?
Resident Evil: Revelations - Probably about two thirds of the time, no voice audio, just subtitles. occasionally the voice work would sound really far away.
Lego City Undercover - Started cutting out, but not as frequent. Maybe 25% of the time.
Splinter Cell: Black List - Has down it a couple times now.
Sam Fisher seems to have switched to a skinning knife for some reason...
Beyond that, the game is looking interesting, it seems to be having a strong online multi-player push.
No local coop for the Wii U version though, which is ironic considering ITS THE ONLY CONSOLE WITH A BUILT IN SECOND SCREEN. The reason give was:

In order to ship at the same time as the other consoles, we unfortunately weren’t able to delve into this feature. But we think Nintendo gamers will be really excited to get the game at the same time as other consoles.
Take from that what you will. Smaller team for Wii U, started later than other versions, takes more time and effort to figure out coop on the gamepad, take your pick.
HOWEVER Online coop op and multiplayer are there and Ubisoft has said that DLC will be the same as other versions of the game.
Activision's Second-Half 2013 Wii U Slate Includes: Call of Duty: Ghosts - Featuring an all-new world, story, characters and experiences, all powered by a new engine, Call of Duty: Ghosts is a stunning leap forward for the blockbuster franchise. For the first time in Call of Duty, gamers play as the underdog, fighting as part of a single squad against an enemy that has superior numbers and firepower. Call of Duty: Ghosts' genre-defining multiplayer delivers gameplay innovations throughout, including dynamic map events, character customization and other features yet-to-be-announced. The title includes Wii Remote and second-screen Wii U(TM) GamePad support and more. Call of Duty: Ghosts is scheduled for release on November 5, on Wii U and is not yet rated by the ESRB.
What's the DEAL-SEE with DLC?
If you look at the Wii U eshop, you will notice all of Activision's games are retail only. I speculate that Activision doesn't like the percentages Nintendo offers on their digital store. Was this why COD The-Ghost-and-Mr.-Chicken was announced late? Was a deal worked out between Nintendo and Activision?
Many people have said that what the Wii U needs more than anything is games. I don't know if people realize how many games that were, at one point in time, going to release early in the Wii U's life that didn't come to be. Here is my list. Confirmed Killed or Missing in Action:
Status: currently on hold while they focus on the PC version. https://twitter.com/GhostRecOnline/statuses/335518953105412097 Metro: Last Light: Single Player first person shooter that released on other platforms this May. Originally part of the Wii U E3 2012 sizzle reel, THQ backpedaled and then developer 4A games insulted the Wii U. http://enterthemetro.com
Status: THQ died, 4A badmouthed the Wii U CPU, and it ain't never coming now.
Aliens: Colonial Marines: Once upon a time this game was supposed to be good. I for one was looking forward to it. Turns out to be such a bad game they cancelled the Wii U version. http://www.sega.com/aliens-colonial-marines/
Status: Sega dun goofed and Randy Pitchford is slimey.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2: I think what excited people the most about this game coming to the Wii was the fact that it ran on CryEngine 3. http://www.sniperghostwarrior.com/
Status: Originally listed on the ESRB site as coming to the Wii U, It came out on March 12th 2013 for other platforms. DLC has been canceled for the other platforms, so I really doubt we are getting a Wii U release.
Delayed: Game and Wario: this game was originally slated to come out before March 31st, but got pushed back to June 23rd, 2013. At least we got it before the fall.
Pikmin 3: First it was a launch title, then launch window, now we finally get it in the back half of summer. Apparently Miyamoto had trouble learning shaders.
Wonderful 101: When is the game coming out? Next week... in stores... Actually September 15th in North America. Lucky Europeans get it earlier.
Wii Fit U: Another launch window game that got delayed. Now it is coming in December of this year. I'M GAINING WEIGHT OVER HERE NINTENDO
MultiPlatform Betrayalton:
Rayman Legends: Originally a Wii U exclusive scheduled for February 26th, 2013, it is now being sent to die on September 3rd. Reason for the delay? It's coming to the PS3, 360, and Vita as well. Yay...
Deus Ex: Human Revolution This was rumored to be coming in May 2013, but now it is delayed to later this year and is hitting PS3, 360, PC and Mac as well.
So there we have it, TEN games that we may have had already on the Wii U. Multiple reasons why we don't have them, but it does make you wonder what if?
I personally think this off-load processing to the cloud concept for the Xbone is a farce, but maybe the technology will get there someday.
But really, I can't think of any hardware requirements that would prevent other consoles from doing this as well. Sony is doing something similar with GaiKai.
I doubt Nintendo would ever do this, but what's to stop a third party from releasing an always online game that uses cloud processing on the 360, PS3, PC, PS4, Xbox One, and the Wii U? WatchDogs is already rumoured to be always online for all platforms.
If I put my fanboy hat on, this could give more horsepower to the Wii U!
You would think with all the graphic-whoring you have these days, photo-digitized textures would be all the rage. I can't think of another game that has done it since Max Payne One? Imagine what you could do with today's technology.
Can anyone else point out a game that has used this?
