This game is funny! I liked all the cameos at the police station.

Only thing I don't like so far is the long-long loadtimes. I guess they don't use streaming? But they hang a lampshade on that early on.

Also, I've had the audio on dialog cut out a few times. Good thing I had subtitles turned on.

Here I thought he was still head of Nintendo Treehouse (translations) but he has moved up in the world. Is he being groomed to take over for Reggie eventually?

HOWEVER if he is director of marketing, then he has dropped the ball with the Wii U.

Nintendo Gaming / Am I playing Scribblenauts right?

So I've been getting around to Scribblenauts for the Wii U. I go in and solve the little tasks and puzzles they give me, most are pretty simple with a few stumpers that feel more like you have to guess what they want you to do. All in all pretty straight forward and not very challenging.

Then I watch videos of it online and it's group of people making monsters and chaos and laughing at their results.

So I go into the Miiverse and there's this huge community of people making things and selling items in shops and recreating Ponies and Pokemon.

I feel like I'm not getting the full potential out of the game and it's a little boring.

2013 has been a bang-up year for game developers so far, hopefully some more studios will go out of business for their gross incompetence.


First up, we have Aliens: Colonial Marines, a bait and switch scam by Gearbox. They promoted it with a different lighting system and animations and AI than the game actually shipped with. Sega hired Gearbox to make the game, but Gearbox allegedly embezzled the funds to make Borderlands 2, then farmed out the job to several work-for-hire studios who did a lousy job. The game was so bad it looks like they canceled the Wii U version.





Next, we have EA and Maxis teaming up to ruin on of my most beloved franchises. Making it online for what looks like DRM reasons, they failed to keep the servers running at launch. No offline mode means you can't play! Also, they really botched the AI in the game making things like tourism, emergency services, and traffic a joke. Thanks Maxis, Will Wright must be proud.





Who will be next? Tomb Raider seems to have turned out okay despite the most awkward marketing campaign  in recent memory, but I know third party game developers won't let me down!
