Silicon Knights It's an Outstanding Programming House, And I'm Looking Forward To Their Next Couple of Games. Too Human Sure Looks Amazing It's Located Second on my Waiting list -Between DooM III & StarCraft Ghost- And I can't Wait To be Able to Play It.

Blood Omen Was The BEST Story in a game on Ages, and Eternal Darkness is the best Game this Generation. So they have a lot going for themselves. They Have Restored the Faith & Respect I once had for Nintendo. They Are The BEST Programming House on Consoles -Well, Blizzard and Id are thought-

Who Else Thinks The same of them? I'm not alone Right?
What could be the Other Games they have on Development? They really plan to have a Eternal Darkness Related Game?

Out Of That, A couple of Questions:

1-Where Can I contact Denis Dyak!?!? Or Any Programmer on Silicon Knights? I been Trying to get a response but nothing.....
2-Remember the EternalDarknessFilms Contest? "Unloved" Won that. Well, where can I get the Videoclip of "Unloved"? -With quality If possible-

Thanx, I hope to Enjoy this Forums

Well Denis shows up at these forums every now and then. He hangs out at the Eternal Darkness Board at IGN more frequently. I don't suggest trying to get a hold of his any other way. 1000s of others are trying also so they just hit the delete key on most messages they get. (Or automated email responses.)

I would like to think so and yes, we have swords, shields and suites of armor.  No horses yet

Uh, Dennis, I think I might have missed something.
Yellow?
What yellow magick?
I don't remember it in Eternal Darkness.
But, I have neither read nor heard of the interview article that other poster was talking about.
So, maybe I'm just uninformed.
But, if this is a legitimate question, please elaborate on yellow magick (what game? where to find?).

Okay, Dennis, I'm following you somewhat.
I'm just curious as to why you're pointing this out now.
I understood from a recent interview with you, that a sequel to ED was a ways off.
As a matter of fact, the gaming public is really unaware of what SK is working on currently.
We have suspicions, but that's it.
NOW, you go and tease us about some thing(s) we missed in ED.
AAArrgggghhh!!

ED doesn't have anything to do with Too Human, does it?
You aren't already working on an ED sequel, are you?
You wouldn't be looking for a recent business school graduate to hire & let in on all of your secrets, would you?

Denis, do you browse by here often, or is this the first time in a while? I was surprised to see you respond since it's been so long you've actually posted on the board. Just want to tell you Eternal Darkness is easily one of my favorite games ever- too bad not a whole lot of people got to experience it.

SPOILERS...

Yeah, I actually noticed this when I was playing the game and I found it rather unusual, but never really classified it as a magic type associated with a god whose name goes unmentioned, but I assume that this would be the "Marduk" or "Enkidu" of the game, just like most of the other god type characters in this game are heavily influenced by Lovecraft's mythos.

It would also mean that the deity trinity depicted all over the place in the game doesn't accurately represent what's going on, and that you'd actually need a 3 dimensional symbol or perhaps a "Star of David" type symbol to more properly describe the entire mythos that the game represents,  allowing for the formation of a second, unbroken trinity and possibly a sequel but I'll leave that to the creators.

Interestingly enough, this could answer quite a few plot holes, like what Pious means when he says "My death is only the beginning".  He could know of this particular God's existence and actually be a servant of THAT god sent for a similar purpose to what Alex was meant to do, only more sinister. (As depicted by a certain wall painting in Lindsey's chapter)  The war, apparently still rages on in spite of what Alex meant to have happen.

It could also answer why there is a many armed "Vishnu" type god symbol that is used in several parts of the game but isn't referred to by name at any point during the game.

Anyway, on to the part where I see if I can glean some answers here, if you have some time- I know you're a busy dude...

Our favorite fireman says "I have something I need to accomplish before... I won't survive the night" at the end of his chapter.  Now it seems pretty obvious that he had to mail the sword, but why?  It's obvious he didn't hand deliver it since he would have been dead by then, but what purpose would mailing it serve over just giving it to Alex's grandfather?  It seems to me that entrusting him wth the essence was a greater risk.  I'm probably just missing something obvious here.

Is Pious' quote "this is only the beginning" just an obvious tie in for a sequel, or am I missing something there, too?  Certain people have tried to tell me that it only refers to specific paths, but he still says it when you finish the third one.  Once again, probably just missing something obvious here.

damn straight rpglover, well agreed.
And i will say of all the games iv played since Ocarina of Time there have been any games that captured
any aspect of fun like your team did. Sure the game is scary, but i think when you get into it you get less scared and more fun. I love sword fighting....gun shooting took a backseet...but I think that was a good thing.....i like choppin the limbs. Also, ill agree with you Paul Luther is badass. I wnet into the level thinking oh great a pussy looking monk. Then oh my god...he is the MAN! I know you pretty much filled the disk and you really never intended to put him in but could you have added in DeMoley as an extra? Just suggestions. I bet the next game you create will be awesome. Keep up the good work! Dances off in the distance Xelatoth has made me crazy.

Dennis: The only real complaint I had with Eternal Darkness, and this isn't meant to be a statement against you or your team, who've obviously proven can make an amazing game, but once you got the refill meter spells, the game got pretty easy. I don't think I ever saw an insanity effect after I was able to both protect my insanity and refill it. I also don't think I died after I could refill or protect my health. It just got too easy. I think I heard somewhere that you would've liked a difficulty setting on the game- maybe we can have a hard setting? It really didn't affect the game in a major way at all, though.

Also, I'm, listening to your interview with PGC where you're talking about how there's so much of the story you didn't put into the game because of size constraints (one of those topics being the yellow magic), and I have to say you really need to get the story out in some form or another for those fanatics like me that NEED to know the whole story. O_O I felt the same way with the Cthulhu mythos by Lovecraft- one story, I can't remember which one, just ended because Lovecraft died before he could finish it and I have to tell you, I almost went crazy! I'm so wrapped up in all of Tolkien's work that I own nearly 15 books compiled by his son on the history of Middle-Earth and Arda. Just don't let such an incredible story stop at Eternal Darkness.

Hey, just thought I'd say thanks for a fun game on the cube.

Sure you have heard this before but the 1st time I got the insanity of Gamecube error screen I about beat my cube to death, seems you timed it just right . by the time I stood up to wack the cube the effect was over and I was tripping  on what just happed, the mute one got me as well.

also  being  what i do for a living for the past 10 years and prior just for fun is art i have to give you props on some of the design aspects as well, should be interesting to see how refined graphics become on the next release now that your team has had time to get comfy with the cube.

Well I'll be damned. I haven't seen Denis in PGC country since before the forums switched to EZBoard. Good to hear from you again.

Will whatever game you're working on contain a revolutionary gameplay feature like ED's insanity system, or are you focusing less on new gameplay mechanisms and more of "flash," and the plot?

Also, interesting to hear that yellow actually means something. I had just assumed that it was filler for the fact that you hadn't chosen a path yet. Thanks for the awesome game . You do realize that you have to make a sequal to ED now, right? We just can't have loose ends in the plot like that, it wouldn't be proper.

Favorite insanity effect: the flies...
Favorite subtle insanity effect: the paintings turning in to scenes from hell.
Favorite item from the game: liquid courage

Heya Denis, I didn't know the makers of such great games would come by here. I don't want to sound like a crazy fan(hehe) but ED was great and I mowed many a lawn so I could buy it. I hope you guys make many many great games in the future.
