I believe that game is called N.U.D.E
Don't ask me what it stands for, but in my opinion, it does sound like a rather original concept. Kinda like "Hey You, Pikachu" except with an actual purpose to the communication..

Actually, not that original, other than the voice aspect, the idea was already done with two "Wonder Project J" titles, the second one being released for the N64 in Japan. Not to mention about 50 anime titles... ^_^;

Marionette is just one of those projects we're not really going to be able to call until he pulls the lid off of it, and we go, "...Oh." We could be manipulating a puppet with the control stick and C-stick for all we know, heck, it could be some Lemmings-style adventure title in a storybook graphical setting where you have to manipulate the puppet's limbs and body just at the right times to correctly get him past dangers. That would have "Miyamoto" written all over it, I could see it now...  The puppet would be bound together with little swivel points at the limbs instead of moving correctly (think to Glove On Fight, if you've ever seen it)... the little flat sprite trees panning by as he passes...

I'm just going to go think happy thoughts about Mario Kart Online now...

When this whole Marionette thing came up ages ago I was doing my usual wild guess thing and I came up with what i think is a pretty cool idea.
A game where you control a string puppet (maybe a mario puppet, whatever).
the way you control it, is the interesting part.

you link up the GBA to you GC.
put one of those tilt'n'tumble cartridges into your GBA, then you use the GBA just like an imaginary puppet is hanging underneath it. you tilt the GBA to wobble your on-screen puppet. Maybe press L or R to make it jump or punch, whatever you can think of.
the game could be very cool. you could even have 4 GBA's plugged into one GC, and have a big puppet show, or puppet brawl, or something. Maybe a puppet RPG
Don't you want to know how we keep starting fires?

hooray for nintendos lies and misdirection
they are like a magician, they make you think they are going to pull a rabit out of their hat, but instead they turn everyone's chairs into aardvarks

Ok, i know this goes back to the XBOX game N.U.D.E.  But heres what i know about it, and maybe through it it will help get an idea of what Marionette will be.

N.U.D.E. stands for Natural Ultimate Digital Experience.
There will be some sex appeal, but EVERYTHING anime has some sex appeal.  They have a much diffrent view on what is acceptable than we do.
The robots name is P.A.S.S. which i dont yet know means.
If anyone has seen chobits then they get a small idea of what to accpect.
You teach it EVERYTHING.  It is sorta like a 1 on 1 sims game, only you dont have to watch them 24/7.
You teach it basic greetings and manors.  How to eat and of course, lots of fan service.
-My take on the game is I am extremely excited.  I am engaged and do not play the games for the girls.  This will obviously be a new level of enterrainment and involvement.  I hope it will fill the gap that Seamen has left on the dreamcast.  I love interactive games and I think with the Xbox Hardwear it will be great.

Ok now what i think will be in marionette.
You are in control of a puppet, but you control by choice commands, not direct interface.
The pupppet must do certain things to make so many friends and become real.
their will very likely be a choice between a boy or girl marionette.
the visuals will be either cel shaded or Animal crossing, with more porportionate body sizes.
-my take is the game, if it is what i think, will be good, but a little empty.  With N.U.D.E. to compare with it will have some competion.  The game will probably rely more on replay and less on the experience itself.  Miyamoto is making it, which means it will definetly be at least good.

Yeah, so it's called NUDE.
Nude, Porn, what's the difference.
The thing is that NUDE is a communication game, but the only way they could make it work was to put an almost Hentai inspired hottie into it. And while the game will PROBABLY change the way the Japanese view XBox, it's still another cheap sex appeal ad to me.
And you can quote me on that.
I would only buy cause I'm a horny teenage male. As is why DOA Extreme Beach Vollyball is pretty popular at the moment.

DONE AND DONE!

Anyway, if anybody buys that N.U.D.E game for the sole reason of jacking off to it, then they're very sad indeed... I mean, c'mon.... Hentai VCD's are much cheaper! =D

Me? Yeah of course, but at least I have enough of a life I can go fight with real people about things instead of having a bitch fight about something no one knows about yet.

Then go ahead and fight with real people instead of complaining online over people who "fight about something no one knows about yet."

Stop.  Everything.

At least several months ago, in August I believe, it was stated that Marionette was indeed nothing more than a game where you controlled-get this-a marionette.  The Planet GameCube article quoted is out of date, as I got this information from Planet GameCube.  It was speculated that this had something to do with the motion sensing technology Nintendo had licensed earlier.  We have heard, if I am correct, nothing on the project since.  And the Zelda Spaceworld 2000 thing?  It wasn't a lie, considering that was how the project was at the time.

Perhaps, maybe, this will go back to being a discussion not about N.U.D.E.?
