This is another example of Nintendo taking the initiative for the 3rd partease. trying to stimulate the creative juices.

I hope Nintendo patents a helmet so all these "at-risk" gamers can protect themselves from Wii related head injury too.

My wife hits me in the head with a Wiimote quite often.

Especially during any of WSR's sword modes.

It hurts.  :o

See Nintendo, there is a market for it. Get to it.

You guys may think I am crazy for saying this, but I think this is a neat idea!

To me, it makes more sense than the Vitality Sensor and the horse saddle since it shows a concept that could well work. Even if EA has done well with Madden on Wii I believe there has yet to be a definitive Wii football game that says "You can't play this on the 360 or PS3!", much less games that use the Wii Remote and Nunchuck effectively.

This shells sounds and looks like it adds more control to the player despite its unusual design. The fact that it even allows for nunchuck and MotionPlus makes me believe they are onto something.

Of course, they need a game in order to seal the deal. Since Nintendo patented it I wouldn't be surprised if they were the ones to make a football game that uses this controller. That or EA, Madden and all that.

So in short, I think it is far more logical than the saddle and Vitality Sensor, but it needs a game to convince people it works.

Maybe it's just Nintendo cock-blocking Sony and Microsoft.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

How would creating a toy football be cock blocking Sony and MS?

Stops them from making a peripheral just like it for Madden Motion HD when Natal & Wand release?

Nintendo does realize that football isn't rugby, right?  And that there's a certain action that is very common in football that would take the throwing-the-remote-though-the-TV stereotype to a WHOLE new level?  Seriously you release this thing and within hours of it going on sale some moron is going to throw the thing and smash their remote and whatever is in the way to pieces.  And then try to sue Nintendo.

You missed "and then upload millions of destroyed tv's on youtube"

Personally I'm just sick of Nintendo's infactuation with lame ass accessories.

Me too. But i've said that already. Why they didn't port Pennant Chase Baseball to wii is anyone's guess.
