Super Mario Kart Mafia: Day 3. Daisy Cruiser.
« on: June 24, 2009, 02:26:15 AM »
Well, I was thinking about Peach Beach but whatever. Bring on some Daisy Hawtness I say.

At the moment, everything seems to be in order, but pLAKITUgz is going to inspect each Kart to see if it is road worthy. I wonder why DAaaMan64 and Thatguy look so nervous. All I know is the Funky Kart is ready to rock. It helps when you are your own mechanic.

Well, nothing to do at the moment but check out Daisy and feel the boat rock in the ocean as I laze about in the sun and wait for this race to start.
Whoever said, "Cheaters never win" must've never met Khushrenada.

RISE AND SUNSHINE! I'm awake... and slowly proceeding through all my PM's to make sure i'm not rushed and make more boobies.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
At 4 votes, DaaaMan64 is... ALIVE! Someone activated the lightning bolt, cancelling all votes except for Maxi's. Therefore, the only valid vote is for thatguy. So, at 1 vote... thatguy is ALSO ALIVE!

The star has been activated, protecting thatguy from death. As a result of these skillful item uses, nobody is dead.

All necessary PM's are going out now. Sorry about the delay in getting PM's out. If you do not receive a PM, then your points tally and item use remains the same.

OTHER ITEM USES:
Someone used their red shell defensively.
The blue shell was used against the green team.
Someone used the identifier, to find out who had the blue shell. A coin flip determined that this person will not switch team.

One player is near death (1 point left).

All PM's have been sent out. I have updated my previous post with yesterday's events.

However, owing to a lack of activity I am going to stir things up. All players who have an item used for defense which has not been used by the end of the day will lose this item. The item will then expire and you will be assigned a new one tomorrow.

So... Uhh, I know of two players that have been hit by items.

There's a third.  One of those three are on the green team.  If someone tells me the third, the one I don't know, I'll post the other two.

***Keep in mind this is to attack the green team***

Blue and Red can definitely team up, and it won't matter in particular.  If you used the lightning bolt, you should contact me.  If you used the blue shell, you don't particularly want to contact me.

Edit:  And for the record, I believe my starman verifies my status as not-a-green-team-member.  Green team has limited items, don't they?

Double Edit:  It's imperative that if you used the lightning bolt you contact me.  Ultra imperative.  The star proves my non-green teamness, and as I've said, I targeted Stratos because I was certain he's on the blue team.  I made a big deal about it yesterday because I was going to use the star.

Don't worry thatguy, you may ask for my forgiveness of you acting green later.

I'm going to guess that if all votes except Maxi's were disregarded than Maxi used the lightning. Thank you Maxi, confirmed comrade, I'll PM you my list of confirmed communists so we can unify and bring down the bourgeoise!

Well, the person who uses the lightning chooses who's vote counts.  It could have been DAaaMan, for all we know, since he could have seen Maxi didn't vote for him, or it could be someone who believes Maxi is Blue or Green, and wants him to look like a red team member.

Essentially, it offers little proof of Maxi being anything, except the person that was chosen by the person with the lightning bolt.

So here's the deal:  At this point, the green team can not secretly assassinate someone.  They've got a pow block, they've got Boo, but they've likely used one of their shells, which means the only player vulnerable to death by a green attack is on the green team.

By that trend, since they have the Boo item, and since they have item priority, I recommend not telling people what item you have at all, if it hasn't been used yet.  If you have a shell, an identifier, a banana, or anything, don't let anyone know if there's any chance the player is on the green team.  We don't want them to steal an item and upset the balance of players, and move one team 3 team members, since that would certainly result in the green team's victory.

Additionally, the POW block out there, well, it could really screw over anyone who doesn't have an item immune to it.  It would be appropriate to be very careful, as you could wind up shooting your teammate if they utilize this well.

I believe the breakdown to be 6-6-2 between the teams, and with Stratos gone, now 6-5-2.  I've made agreements with blue team members to cease fire at them, in order to help find a green team player before the end of this day.  Once we've killed the green team player, they should have less than half, and should not be able to steal a victory away from either the red or the blue team by us just crossing fire.

For the red players, until the green team player is lost, I recommend using items defensively, so we don't accidentally kill blue members before the red player is done, or even not using the items, and holding on to them, in effort to wait to attack until tomorrow.  For blue team members, well, I only hope that our defenses would fend off whatever attacks you might have, or you hold back/use items defensively for now, as well.

As I've said, I am a red player.  I know of some red players, and some blue players.  The ones I do know of know of me, as well, and we have non-aggression deals made in order to find the green team for now.  If we rush too much farther, then there's a good chance we could shoot ourselves in the feetses.

Edit:  For your convenience, a voting block breakdown.  It's in the order of the first vote they placed, as I saw them, hence why players who didn't vote in day 1 (or day 2) are closer to the bottom, with the exception of stratos, who's at the very end, since he was voted out.

After taking several events into perspective, I must say this:

I'm going to make a gesture of good faith to the blue team, and vote maxi.

Why do I think this is a meaningful thing?  To begin with, if Maxi used the lightning, then he's on the red team.  If he's on the red team, it'll even our numbers out, making red and blue even, like we began.  However, I personally, do not believe he used the lightning.  I'm pretty sure it was thrust upon him to cover the actual player with the lightning, but that's just me.

I still believe that Maxi is a member of the green team, and I believe it very much so.  He has played very skittish this game, and won't talk with me, at all, today, for one.  Perhaps out of fear of slipping up.  Beyond that, I believe Maxi to be the member of the green team with 2 points, rather than one.  The chances of Maxi being attacked seems odd, since all attacks happened on day 1.  Who would target him?  What would they gain from it?  Does anyone have a vendetta against Maxi?  I don't think he got hit by anything, really.

Anyways, the point is, is that if he did, indeed, use the lightning, then he's on the red team, and we'll be even blue team.  If he didn't, I believe he's on the green team, and we'll have eliminated a threat to both majorities.  There's little reason not to vote him out, given this.  Anyone else have an opinion?

I should take a moment to clarify the use of the lightning. The person who owns it nominates the person who's vote will stand.

So (for example) 5 people vote for thatguy, and one for khush and someone uses their lightning. They nominate khush's vote, hence only whoever khush VOTED FOR sticks.

I have made another spectacular **** up, literally identical to last year. In response, there are no red/blue team-specific items.

I accidentally gave both team specific items to red in Day Two. This will be re-balanced shortly. I only noticed an hour ago.

I'm sorry if these minor changes aren't helping, i'm kinda disappointed in myself personally because i should have this all locked down.

Well, I can't complain.  That makes a starman, lightning, a blue shell, all for the red team.

What's odd?  The second two items really had no negative impact on the blue team, for their sake.

Blue shell thrower want to come out of the woodwork?  We can make things happen, you know...

Again, I want to urge people not to use items until we know the green team is out of the way.  In this way, we can keep from things going crazy with a Pow block.  Don't tell people your current items, or else Boo could be used to steal something good, if they know about it.

Except that will just help the green team get one step closer to victory.  All they'd need is to survive one more round and knock out a blue player, and they'd win.  Not a good idea.
