Nintendo's system reaches 200k in record time.

The Wii is now the fastest selling console in Australia, reaching 200,000 sales just a couple weeks south of the one year anniversary of its release, according to Nintendo Australia.  The Australian Wii launch took place in December 2006.

The title of "fastest selling console ever" is a true one, as the Wii has sold at a pace faster than that of any console or handheld, including the Nintendo DS or Xbox 360.  Microsoft pushed 100k 360s in seven months to set the previous mark.

The Wii has sold 32,101 units in the past month.  It continues as the most successful console in Australia.

Well if the weekly sales charts for the past year are anything to go by, we just buy movie licensed games, which tend to get released shortly after America. Fun fact, Cars for Wii is still, to this day, on the Wii charts. Six month delayed Super Paper Mario? Dropped off completely shortly after release. Sales failure.

This is good news though, especially after the GameCube barely existing!

Prime 3 - DELAYED
Super Paper Mario - DELAYED
Trauma Center Wii - MISSING
Super Mario Strikers - NO ADS
Wii Play - NO ADS
Excite Truck - NO ADS

Wii Sports - still advertising

And that's not even twelve months worth of incompetence. Outside of Wii Sports Nintendo have done a rubbish effort here (notice how I didn't just bash NAL), and they only got that game here on time because it was a pack-in.

Favourable sales or otherwise, its still terrible here. The word filters have limited my coarse language for now.

Is that because no one in Australia cares about Super Paper Mario or because everyone imported it months ago?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Because noone cares. I didn't even buy the game after losing interest, and I had a Paper Mario avatar for months. Plus you can't import US Wii games.

It's so sad how despite the monster hardware sales Wii games seem to be doing worse than even PS3 games in the weekly all formats chart.
