its funny because I have so many ps fanboy friends who wre laughing at me for getting a ds, bragging about the psps out selling it then after showing them the sales numbers AND letting them play Mario kart ds I had them wanting a ds and every single one of them told me theonly thing they are disapointed in so far is the games, but these guys bought PS1 over 64 and Ps2 over gc and psp over ds and will likeley stick to thier system, no big deal but sucks for me cuz I dont get ps crap and we dotn get to play games together much.

But I had one friends considering trading his psp for a ds and some games, and a couple otehrs consdiering getting one just for mario kart so theres still hope. Plus when we talked revolution they were more interested in it than GC and addmitted ps3 might be too uninteresting and they migth geta rev first and a ps3 latter on. Hopefully they DO geta rev first and pass altogether on ps3. I am not a fanboy but I HATE Playstation and sony noe more than ever and realyl wish tehy woudl just throw in the towel.

ON TOPIC: I can't wait to see the holiday numbers and get a real indication of weather or not PSP will even be around in a couple years.

This too is a little off topic, but I also have a friend who's a big fan of Sony but also a real technology lover. He got the DS when it first came out but got bored with and when the PSP came out, he traded in his DS and got a PSP. He thought it was great for awhile. Sometimes we'd argue over the merits of each system and his stance was that the PSP sucks and the DS really sucks. He said that both didn't really have good games but at least with the PSP you can access the internet or download Nintendo emulators. After that time, Kirby, Meteos, Nintendogs, and Advance Wars starting coming out. I bought a DS and another friend of mine bought one as well. We'd get together and play games against one another. We've also both got Mario Kart and play that. We also ask my friend if he's going to get a DS again and join us. He always says if he had money, he would. We let him play the games and he agrees now that the DS has some great games. On a second note, he too is interested in the Nintendo Revolution. He wants to get the PS3 and then the Revolution. He doesn't care about the 360. Frankly, I think Nintendo's strategy is working as a second console. Another friend of mine has the XBOX 360 and he's interested in the Revolution. He doesn't care about the PS3. So, Nintendo going on a different path seems to be working and has got people interested in them again.

Back on topic: WooHoo! Almost 1,000,000 DS sold in a month! That's fantastic. It means more revenue for Nintendo, more people developing for the DS and more games for me!(Most important). It's great to see Nintendo dominating after all those articles talking up the supposed superiority of the PSP.

when my friends woudl argue how PS woudl KILL DS they would alwasy say it has better graphics and can wacth movies and its playstation. But I always had faith and woudl pointout that Nintendo has beat out bigger handhelds before. Its no surprise that teh DS canc ompete with the PSP cz graphcis arent tdifferent enough to matter and DS has mostly same features as psp.


SOnys arrogance was if they had enough bonus crap people would get it anyways. But 4 color 8bit GC out sold ful color 16 bit Linx and full color 8 bit Game gear AND Full color 16 bit Turbo Express and full color 16bit Neo Geo Pocket. Then Game Boy Color camein and finsihed off teh copetition which was by that time just wonderswan, and GBA murdered the N-Gage and DS VS PSP is just history repeating itself.

I just hope that if DS continues to do well and Revolution continues to gain support that Nintendo will actualy maek enough money to compete better by making more good games, hopefully more games in general cuuz GC was lacking somewhat bt I realy want them to put more money into making thier games better also.

Ign also has an article on this. They also talk about what games Nintendo plans to lauch in the future. The Ign article also estimates that the DS managed to sell nearly half a million units last week alone.

Subsistence didn't do so well for a holiday launch. I'm not sure why. Full price for a year-old game with upgrades--it's gotta be solid gold!
