TalkBack / RE:Burnout 3 Swerves to Miss GameCube
« on: February 09, 2004, 11:32:27 AM »
My reaction:

Reads "Burnout 3..."

Thinks "Yay! News about Burnout 3!"

Reads "EA chooses not to announce a version of the game for Nintendo's console."

Goes "NO! NO NO NO! NO NO NO NO NO! NO! NO! NO!" [seriously]

Come on, guys! I want Burnout!!

Awesome! I need to buy Burnout 2 now. I love Burnout! I looked for it last night but only saw Burnout 1. Come to think of it I should have bought it; it was only $15. meh.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Anyone else having Leaderboard Troubles?
« on: August 13, 2003, 11:09:45 AM »
well, i know that buying it from target doesnt make a difference in the game or the code itself, im just thinking there was like another code you had to enter first, or if i get in the top 500 and I'll be like hey I won and they'll be like "Did you buy the game from Target?" and I'll be like "Um..." and they'll be like "No prize for you!" and I'll be like "aaaaaww"

Now it won't even submit the scores. it used to take the code and then take me to your leaderboard (hehehe) but now it hits me with the 404 message. grrr... maybe i will call the 1800 number.

and i dont think it would be impossible to get -23 on Hollywood... it is alot easier than Target. One would just Birdie all holes except eagling all par 5s, and maybe another eagle or hole-in-one...probably out of my reach, but on paper it doesn't seem impossible to me.

Nintendo Gaming / Anyone else having Leaderboard Troubles?
« on: August 12, 2003, 01:23:44 PM »
I tried uploading my scores from MG:TT (-13 for Target, -15 for Hollywood) to the websites but my name never appeared on the leaderboard. I emailed Nintendo and I just now got a response back, but it didn't say anything except call the customer service number...

So has this happened to any of y'all? Do you really HAVE to have bought the game from target to be eligible? maybe my name is one of the blank ones.  I want to represent!

EDIT: Ok, sorry, I posted in the wrong forum; it's just been a long time since ive posted here. if you could just move it please...

Aw man, I knew there would already have been a topic on this. i had looked and not seen anything, but I should've known; I never get this stuff first. Well my bad, bloodwroth.

The article was great, and I gotta go with the people who say It's about time!

Nintendo Gaming / New Pro-Cube article in Nintendo Power
« on: May 23, 2003, 10:03:08 AM »
I just read the latest NP and was surprised to see the "10 reasons gamecube beats the pants off PS2 and XBOX"

It was unusual to such such an agressive approach rather than the usual self-dependent comments like "gamecube is great!" etc. It was fun reading too. One of the "reasons" was the handle and it said that you needed a crane to move an xbox. And it said the xbox controller was designed for "a giant--or octopus." i was glad to see it. Go NP. Did anyone else read the piece? Share ya thoughts.

General Gaming / No News on AC2?

Alright. I hadn't check on the progress in a while. I was just wondering. I'm a huge AC fan, but I have worn out the original now.

Did Nintendo not show anything on the next Animal Crossing at E3? I haven't heard about their doing so yet. If not, I would be saddened.

TalkBack / Lieberman Talks Videogame Violence... Again
« on: April 14, 2003, 03:26:41 PM »
Like I said recently in another forum, there is just something about the internet forum that brings out the hostility in everyone. I think it's because you're trying to convince people you can't see and stuff...

Ok, before I end this let me say a few things. I am not for political correctness, AKA communism. And plus I didn'twant to start an abortion debate; I didnt think that line out well, so forget that.

Now I'm just going to stop arguing. it's not worth it. let's be friends. Don't worry, be happy. So on.

It is not all politics. You're making too many generalizations trying to back up your story. Is it too suspicious of him to look like he cares about America's kids. Next, I think that the games do have an affect on people; But there's not much I can do to convince you, and likewise you can't convince me otherwise, so I won't go down that alley right now. Furthermore, I don't think you understood my part about the guy. I was calling Liberman a jerk sarcastically in that line, not the guy. I am not a hypocrite. I said That what we were trying to do was convince each other just like Liebrman is, I was letting him argue, and I am doing my part, too. "it's people like HIM that make American politics such a joke." I can't believe how ridiculous this is. just because he doesn't agree with you, he is turning American politics into a joke? I don't get it. "the man's story holds NO water whatsoever" Not true. "HE'S SPENDING TAXPAYERS' MONEY RESEARCHING SOMETHING THAT WE ALL KNOW IS UTTERLY POINTLESS." No, no, no. Is he spending taxpayer's money? I honestly don't know, but I doubt it. link me if it's true. And it's definitely not pointless. You're just stupid. "I HAVE let him speak and he has absolutely NOTHING to say that actually means anything" if what he says doesn't mean anything, why are we having such a heated debate? FYI I never said anything about banning it. And about the anti-constitution stuff; The constitution gets broken all the time. One example is how it is now legal to murder babies.

"y melba? should it be melda... "

Melda may be too obvious...

Besides both of those sound incredibly stupid.

Tetra is a good name. Sounds like a pirate.

Quote

1)  You are using guides and still can't beat the game
2)  This is the wrong forum for asking this.

Seriously, why do you even play games if you use guides?  why don't you just watch a movie instead?

1. I didn't want the guide. I don't typically use guides. My mom got it when she got the game for me because it was discounted. I don't like wandering around aimlessly not knowing what to do so I use it then. (In this case I used it for some of the side quests too, but whatever.)

2. How in the world is this the wrong forum. It is about Zelda, therefore it belongs in the Zelda forum.

And also, I don't know what it is about internet forums, but it really brings out the hostile side of people.

and the other guy..."Dude... if you can't destroy those ships, then how did you manage to defeat the first boss? " Huh? the first boss? the first boss didnt require beating those ships. I'm confused

Forgive the double-post but I thought of more to say and it wouldn't let me edit.

I'm sure he has kids or has bserved the influence of video games on kids he knows, and even if he doesn't it is fine for him to do what he's doing; more power to him.

OH man and you said " "But beyond being offensive to our values" Whose values? Certaintly not mine. "   That's not against your values? What are your values? Murder and rape are ok? Do you stand up for anything, man? I think it is a pretty common value that killing people on the streets and having sex with hookers is wrong.

People calm down. i think most of you are getting all uppety because you think that just because you've been playing video games all your life and Lieberman has not, that he can't make an observation on video games. not true. So just let the man speak.

And to the person who said something to the extent that the other people were just joking, they dont really want him to die, I still disagree. Iti s still showing these people are immoralized and desensitized to murder and can't think of any good comeback besides some creative form of "Die, lieberman, go to hell."

And then there was the idiot who I believe had the post right before this one, who said something about "just cuz there are hookers in the game (just like in real life!) doesnt mean the game intends to degrade and [something, I forget] women. The people don't HAVE to take the hooker and then kill her, so shut up Joe!"    Man you are just stupid. It isnt bad enough that the hooker is there and it is possible to have sex with her then kill her? Whatever you think, the game is encouraging you to have sex with her then killl her, or else it wouldn't be programmed into the game.  And then you are all [the same guy, not you-all; as in y'all] like, "He houldn't try to impose *HIS* views on others." Not true. Simmer down. Heaven forbid he try to implant the thought in others that being serviced by a hooker then killing her is wrong; The JERK! This is what America is all about. he can say what he thinks all he wants, and try to spread his views; that is what you and I are doing right now, so don't be hypocritical.

C'mon dude, you don't know me. I'm not "sad" ok. So just stop with your trying-to-put-down-others-to-boost-your-own-self-esteem number (oh I just did it my self; whatever )

The point is the guide says "Now you will need to take out the warships." and I'm like "Oh thanks, that helps a lot." That really needs to have like at least one paragraph of its own, but such is nowhere to be found.

I feel like I am missing out on something. The only thing my guide mentions about beating the other ships on the sea is "Take out these ships" er something. But it's not that simple. I go and aim my cannon at the guys, Ill probably miss a few times, and by the time I aim it right, I'll get hit and knocked out of the boat. It's rather tedious and annoying. Is there some trick I haven't tried yet? This is keeping me from finishing the game. Help.

You are all ridiculous. Surely you don't seriously think that Senator Lieberman is stupid and doesn't have any point at all. I think you guys are an excellent example of what he's talking about. I'm reading through and see things like "can't he just croak already?" and "I wish he would die". Guys! That is NOT helping your side of the debate; if anything it's affirming Lieberman's point. I agreee with him. I think it is ridiculous that GTA can be the Number one game in the country, and the rating system nearly entirely ignored. Something should be done. And y'all who say "It's not GTA's fault," or the like, well, the GTA-affect has already taken hold of you. It's games like this that are ruining everything (alright generalization, but whatever)

Y'all don't find anything wrong with an 8-year-old beating an old lady to death than chuckling, "Huhu, that's cool?" C'mon, people, you're freaks.

In conclusion, I'm right, you're wrong, resistance is futile, so just shut up.

Nintendo Gaming / WARNING! Do not open the latest Nintendo newsletter!
« on: March 24, 2003, 02:33:08 PM »
Well I got lucky I guess. I opened the e-mail before I read the update. But my email doesnt read HTML really, it just shows a bunch of ugly links to pictures. Was the spoiler in the movie in the newsletter? Or just a picture? If it was just a picture, I may have seen it in Nintendo Power, and I don't like them anymore, as y'all might know. I shouldn'tve even looked at the Wind Waker strategy section. Oh wll. It wasnt the end of the world. I'm getting the game tomorrow!

Er... Um... No. But I certainly expected it. I'm actually dissapointed with the magazine. They also spoiled something about Wind Waker just with a picture, I couldn't avoid it. But since I'm considerate of y'all, I won't say what it was.

Thanks for nothing, Nintendo Power! You're screwing over your subscribers. I subscribe and I was expecting a Wind Waker poster. but the march issue came, and they had a stupid poster of Def Jam Vendetta (uh-oh... wait... sponsor of PGC.... I mean, Great Poster!). And so the April issue came and it was the Stupid Hobbit.  So now you have to go buy something else to get the poster. So thanks for nothing NP. I dislike you.  I mean they propagandize (is that a word?) WW, and then they say "Yeah, screw you guys"  BAH!!! BAH!! BAH!!!! NP dies now!

Nintendo Gaming / Good Stuff is Always Made of Gold...
« on: March 20, 2003, 09:06:57 AM »
I still the the disc looks good. I don't see what there is to complain about. You got your gold, your game logo, the cool characters... I mean, what were you expecting?

I do have one bone to pick, however. The box... i think it look better before they added the lines going toward the center. It's not a big deal though, I still think it looks good.
