I've actually come to appreciate MM more and more in comparison to Twilight Princess...

I'll go over the flaws later when I can find time to put my feelings and thoughts into a ginormous collection of digital text.

Don't worry, we probably don't like WW for different reasons.

WW could've been an absolute classic for all time, and possibly the best Zelda game ever... IF it hadn't had lackluster dungeon design, not enough land, and hadn't been rushed in development. WW sorely needed another delay or two to have been the best game it could have been. Aside from that, I loved the concept, graphics, style, etc.

Yeah, I can agree with those points. To me, the biggest issue was the sailing. Most of the game is doing nothing except sailing and changing wind directions. It became such a burden once the entire map became available while yielding so few rewards. Someone is bound to flame me for that.........

I give Wind Waker credit for having the best story in the series (despite the plot holes), including my personal favorite, A Link to the Past. And though I prefer Twilight Princess' graphics, I loved the cel-shading. However, I didn't particularly like the character designs outside of Ganondorf, who was unquestionably badass in Wind Waker in like every way imaginable.

You know, I think I agree with every single word that Adrock said there.  I don't remember much about the story by now, but I will never forget how cool Hyrule Castle is, frozen in time at the bottom of the ocean.

I agree about the burden of sailing.  It's too bad the 3D Zelda games' "overworlds" can't be full of enemies crawling around all over the place like the 2D ones.  Wind Waker's was the worst because it was flat and solid blue, and then it was actually an annoyance when you encountered enemies because you really just wanted to have reached the next island by then.

I'm with Adrock, except for the part where LttP is pretty lame.  And I didn't think the sailing was the biggest issue.  I could put up with the sailing if the rest of the game were actually interesting.

I personally dug the sailing, it's just that their implementation of it failed, and they dropped the ball on creating meaningful content out in the wild blue yonder.

Also, <3 LTTP.

For me, all things considered, A Link to the Past is the best Zelda title. I think of subsequent Zelda games and A Link to the Past had the greatest impact on the series. For a game released in 1991, it was just way ahead of its time. The gameplay, the story, the graphics, the music... just everything was amazing.

Sure, A Link to the Past isn't perfect, but I feel that Nintendo made the absolute best possible game they could 15+ years ago. I can't say that about games today. Every game has flaws. I just think that in 2006, some things shouldn't be problems. In Twilight Princess, bosses shouldn't be total pushovers, the overworld shouldn't be empty and so on. Many sequels today, not just Zelda, have some of the same problems of their predecessors.

Everyone who doesn't agree that Link's Awakening is the best Zelda ever is wrong.  Even Miyamoto agrees with me.

Anywhoo, beat the game today.  115+ hours.  Beat that!
(I had a lot of fun ust running around and doing stuff).

I'd like to say, I sure as hell hope Princess Zelda can make a better pie than she can aim a frinkin' arrow.

I agree, UncleBob.  It's my favorite Zelda and by far the best game I've ever played.
A Link to the Past was alright, but it was too much dungeon and not another other stuff.  That's why I love LA, MM, and WW so much.

I will say this about Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask...both those games had more NPC interaction than other Zelda games that you actually cared about the people, especially considering that Koholint and Termina were doomed.  It made for a better story.

Taking a break from Hyrule and Ganon and Zelda and the Triforce that half the games have is nice, too.  It's classic, of course, but it's nice to mix things up now and then.  If the Oracle games were more memorable I'd probably applaud those for the same reason.

In Twilight Princess, after rescuing people from being spirits in the Twilight, which they didn't even seem to notice, I don't think they even recognized that they were ever in any danger.  Even after the barrier is up on Hyrule Castle did anyone care?  Sure, the ragtag team of adventurers notice the "sad state of Hyrule Castle" but they seem to be the only ones.

I probably played Link's Awakening three or four times, more than any other Zelda game (most I've played twice) which was a mistake because I never really got into Link's Awakening DX.  I have yet to tackle the Color Dungeon and the other things DX added.

I can't get to the Cave of Ordeals because of the Hot Springwater.  Going the most direct route I can't take a bottle of it to anyone who needs it without it turning to water.  This has plagued me the whole game.  Here I am about to go into Hyrule castle and lay the Smack Down to finish the game and the only place I want to go is the Cave of Ordeals so I can finally see the stupid great fairy...  Arrgggg

What the hell? If you're talking about that hot springwater run through Hyrule Field, just take the outside and its so easy. That pissed me off at first because I just ran straight through and kept getting hit by something, usually the damn things that come from the ground.

You do not need hot springwater to get to the cave of ordeals, you need to go to that big huge tower-looking thing on the horizon when you first cannon into the desert. Get up the platforms by using your clawshot on the things that fly overhead, once you are on top you get the option to warp that big chunk of rock, warp it to the bridge of Eldin.  Come back to that spot in the desert to enter the cave of ordeals

For the hot springwater mission you need to talk to the goron outside of Malo's, the rest is pretty straightforward
