Nintendo Gaming / Re: Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

Riiiissseeee… RIIIIISSSSSEEEEEE, oh ancient one... /threadnecromancer

Ahem. Hey all! Wow, I haven't been on in a long time. And in my many years of absence from NWR, brought on by an absence from Nintendo systems, I missed the release of this game.

Well, I recently found a 3DSXL for $99 at Target (Smash Bros version) thanks to DrewMG, so I'm back in the game! Obviously, Zeldas I missed are going to be on the backlog. Problem is, Spirit Tracks is surprisingly really hard to find now at a reasonable price. Cart-only copies are selling for like $30-40 on ebay. So, my point: I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on where to go to track this game down. Really want to get a complete version, but don't need new/sealed (that cellophane is expensive).

Ideas?

P.S. - It's nice to see so many familiar people still around. Hiii!! :D

Since Ceric is posting more, we need Darkheart to come back and Decoyman to post more.

And some Faceball as well?

Why hullo. :) And ah, Carmi. That was fun.

Hoping to play again one of these days. We'll see!

Free things are always great.  :cool;

A free punch to the throat wouldn't be so great…

But a free game would be.  :cool;

Also, VOTE INSANOLORD /bandwagon

P.S. - Hi guys!

Just got this game. Like everyone says, it is awesome and you should go buy it ASAP.

On my second play-through now... :D I've had non-gamer tendencies lately, but this brought me right back to my SNES days.

I have to echo everyone else's sentiments about the final battle bossES for the losses, but it WAS super satisfying to finally best that jerk doctor. I actually kept Sue's annoying mutated self alive for the entire thing, just in case my killing her would kill her for good, just like poor Toroko. :'(

Also, there were flower petals in Arthur's house. Was he the mimiga hero because... he was 'roid raging?!? =o

I was at Target yesterday and noticed that there are quite a few good $50 games on sale for $37. Sin & Punishment 2, Mario Galaxy 2, No More Heroes 2 w/ ... er, something included (it's in a big box). Wii Motion + maybe?

On DS they have some slight sales going too, but I can't remember any titles right off the top of my head.

I flip into this thread randomly, and people are talking about sexualizing Birdo (OHGAHMYEYES). Randomly flip to this page, and people are talking about platy...pi (?) and Australia.

GET ON TOPIC PEOPLE, I WANT TO READ YOUR TOTALLY REHASHED/REGURGITATED THOUGHTS ON METROID OTHER M.

Tangentially-related:
... Wii2HD ...

I wish Nintendo had called the their little box with the blue light the "Vii" instead, if only just so they could call the NEW system the "Wii". I think that'd be an awesome successor name. As it is, the only logical place they can go from "Wii" is "WiiWii."

Obviously.

Happy Birthday Decoyman!
Don't let your decoy have all the fun.

Ha, thanks Maxi. :)

Rachtman, I like the design, and I think Ian's concerns can be addressed fairly simply, actually.

1) Move the "seam" (breakaway point) next to the "remote" side. The controllers don't need to be symmetrical. Then you have one remote-shaped piece and one connector/add-on piece.

2) Change the button configuration so it's more like the Gamecube: one main button with some bean-buttons around.

Yeah… could work. :D

So, Pale, did you do it?! I must know!

Played this last time I saw DrewMG, and was sorely tempted to pick it up myself… but I have resisted. In $$ saving mode. :(

Wait, can someone tell me where the rumor that the next DS is going to be 3D came from? Or am I just around here so seldomly anymore that I've forgotten how to recognize/understand/appreciate a running joke?

hi people!

I think the max was 35 people way back in Mafia 10. F-Zero Mafia.

Typically the average is 25 but lately that hasn't been happening. I wonder why?

Mafia burnout? I know I haven't been able to devote the necessary sort of time to mafia lately...

SilverGrey, two things on the lack of DVD.

1) Right or wrong, Apple has a habit of getting rid of tech a little earlier than it should. It was the same with floppies. There's talk that some versions of the Macbook Pro laptops in the future will be without DVD drives, too, freeing up a slot for another hard drive or video card or something else.

2) Including a DVD drive would add bulk and weight, both of which would cut down on the usefulness of a device you're meant to hold in your hands.

Could've been the first practical video phone.
Is there a camera on the back? They should have just copied the DSi and slapped 2 camera on there. Cameras aren't that expensive.

Nope, no camera at all. Maybe they'll add one in a few future revision...

Only one knows the mind of Jobs. And that person isn't talking.

I have to admit I'm rather "meh" on the iPad too. A couple things, though:
  • iCall, a voip app developer, was given the green light to develop for the iPad. So there could be a phone app eventually...
  • Biggest missed opportunity? Lack of a front-facing camera. iChat is crying.
  • I don't know what your reasoning is, thatguy, but the App Store could easily be one of this thing's biggest selling points.
  • Not enough storage for the price. Not near enough. And why no SD Card slot?
Here's an interesting take on it.

Aren't they missing a boy who befriends a bear plus a royal family of lions who emerge to reclaim their kingdom?

Oh I thought they got killed by the sea witch.  Or did she steal the kingdom?

Actually, the sea witch just sent them all to a strange land where, if they stay there too long indulging themselves, they turn into donkeys. =o

To All Those That Have Seen AVATAR, is this accurate?

Yes, it's uncanny!

So, just saw this last week.

I thought it was good, but what's up with James Cameron totally jacking the story of Disney's Pocahontas?

Wait, did someone make this joke already? =P

Picked this up last week. At first (while I was coming to grips with the controls), I experienced the dreaded "not-excited-to-play" malaise that kept me from picking it up for a few days. But I got back into it this weekend, and started having more fun. It's definitely not a perfect game, but I'm more impressed the more I play. I think the fact that I'm starting to really get the hang of combat is making it much more fun.

Plus, Belle's hawt. ;)

They could turn it into Zelda II Rebirth, side scrolling elements and all. (M+ excluded)

Zelda: Other Z?

The Target in my area still had them as of last week. Quite a few. May have to go check that out, as I already off-loaded all my original games in anticipation of getting the trilogy...

No, you won't shoot at little green men, but you will take pictures of them.
And everytime you get a picture of a new alien, it will tell you more about the history of their planet and why you need to be there taking pictures of alien Miis.

****, that actually sounds like an awesome game.  Not a good replacement for Metroid but it's a cool concept.  But then I find stuff like the scans in Metroid Prime or encountering new creatures in Pikmin to be the best part.  If done well a game where you just explore a strange fantasy world and learn about it would really interest me.  Though Mii-style graphics would kill it for me.

Endless Ocean says hi. ;)

I use Netflix streaming, and the one thing that I'd like is to be able to watch on my tv instead. I don't have a video out cable for my computer, and I'd honestly rather not deal with the hassle, so this'll be perfect for me. :D

You know, Zelda has been around for so long that really interesting/compelling story additions could be enough of a reward in itself to complete a sidequest. It'd sure as heck be better than just a pile of rupees at least.
