No, SCV launches at the end of this month (Jan 31) but they been kicking around an playable version at tournaments.  Speaking of SCV, both madcatz and hori will release another round of fightsticks for this game as well.

Street Fighter x Tekken isn't going be released until March 6th I believe, so both of these games will have an pretty damn even playing field.

Soul Calibur V is Jan 31. Also, SFxT is March 6. (edit **** beaten)

There's been a bit of bellyaching about Skullgirls not being a main event (including from me) but it's kind of understandable since it doesn't even have a release date yet. It will be a main event for Final Round first weekend of March though. And it sounds like it will be a huge side-tournament at Evo... maybe it'll get streamed anyway.

Oh man... So I guess my chances for a Wii U version are very slim right?

How likely is it Wii U eventually get's some updated "fighter of the year" version?

see, SC2 was a perfect game, and thats why SC3 sucked. SC4 was good because it was just SC2 with better graphics.
What will this one be like?

I guess SCV has their own version of "ultras" now.  Gamespot editors have a video breakdown of it.

They also have an interesting artilce about training modes and how they need to improve.

Best Buy has an "exclusive" DLC character, Dampierre (From the PSP Soul Cailbur Broken Sword game), which is only available from them.  Here's a video of him in action.  If the link doesn't work:

NetherRealm Studios is taking a few pages from Capcom's book.

You get all the download characters, skins, fatalities, the music CD, and a copy of the 1995 film. Sounds like a good deal to me!
This is where I would write something witty or funny if I had any ideas.

It's no different than a "Game of the Year" type edition. The original film is a sweet bonus, as it's actually quite entertaining... probably the only decent video game adaptation ever. This only has two downsides: It included the lame-ass Freddy Kruger character and isn't available for PC.

Hey!  I liked Silent Hill, and Prince of Persia wasn't that bad, either.   ;)   Seriously, though, this game has been on my "will play it eventually" list, but I was waiting to get the game at a good price since I'm not a fan of "dial-in your combos"-type fighters.  This sounds like a pretty good deal that I'll get...eventually, if only to play the allegedly great story mode.

Like one of my friends said, the story mode in MK9 is actually the best Mortal Kombat movie, except for the parts where you have to stop and play Mortal Kombat.

If the MK9 package is priced to move, I can see myself buying it, I suppose. I still haven't bought a copy for myself (I've been playing on a loaned one) because seriously **** bad netcode, but I definitely like the game itself.

The point I'm trying to get to is that the best video game movie/fighting game movie is Dead or Alive. That's a fact.  ;D

I'm planning on getting a Neo Geo Pocket Color and trying out the cutesie super-deformed anime fighters on there. I'm honestly not as interested in most fighting games, and I'm not usually taken by the art styles in games as graphics are second-tier in importance to me behind gameplay, but I figure I'll try out SNK Vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium and see if I'd like to move on to King of Fighters R-1, King of Fighters R-2, Fatal Fury: First Contact, SNK Gals Fighter, and The Last Blade. This could be the start of a whole new genre love for me.

Some people on this board have an irrational hatred for GameStop, but they currently have a contest where if you are a PowerUp Rewards member (their free program), pre-order Street Fighter x Tekken, and pick it up by March 12, you will be entered into a contest to win one of two custom arcade cabinets. The cabinets feature:

*A 32" HD LCD Monitor and Speakers
*2 Mad Catz Street Fighter X Tekken Arcade FightStick PRO controllers
*The Street Fighter X Tekken game

It's not an irrational hatred if there are legitimate reasons behind it; then it's just a regular hatred.

People take their individual experiences and think the who chain is like it. 95% of my experience at GameStops have been positive.

So you're saying, based on your individual experience, that the whole chain is like that?

No, I mean that people shouldn't assume a whole company is a certain way based on the experiences at their local store. I know there are good employees and bad employees at every company (especially one where employees ten to make minimum wage or near minimum).

But you're using your own personal experiences, that you say have been 95% positive, as the basis of your argument. What makes your experiences more valuable and accurate than everyone else's?

I am saying that the hatred is irrational if it is for the entire chain, it's fine if they hate the stores where they had bad experiences. I have been lucky to usually have a good experience, that is why I don't usually complain about them.
