Topic: The Forum "Motto"

This isn't a complaint, just an observation.

The motto of this forum is "Where Planet Gamecube Rads Go to Bitch About Everything." But it's obvious this isn't true. The moderators watch the forum like hawks. If you try to complain about many things, your thread is locked. Apparantly it's because these threads are useless and don't conduct conversation. I'm wonder: so? Last time I checked no one was dying because of a poll thread (what if there was a whole section just for polls?). If someone makes a thread complaining about something that is supposedly "pointless", why is a moderator allowed to have the final say. Just because you work for a website doesn't make you the be-all and end-all of Nintendo knowledge. Maybe I'm just asking why the motto is something that just isn't true.

I just want to add I do NOT think anyone should be allowed to talk about anything. My problem isn't so much the way PGC is run (I think it works fine) but the foolish motto.

We have the final say because we run the place.  Threads aren't closed down because of people's opinions.  They're closed because people are breaking the rules or have a bad attitude.  And no, there won't be any polls besides the forum poll you can access at the top of the page.

Oh, but it IS true. A lot of people on this message baord just go around and moan and whine about things. It's the stupid stuff the mods catch.

Look around.  Read threads.  ALL PEOPLE DO HERE IS BITCH.  Seriously, 99% of what I deal with in these forums are complaints, suggestions, and just plain whining.   Hey it's part of our job here, but that's not why this is the motto.  The motto is there because it's our motto.  Coincidentally you are bitching about the motto.

So aren't we right?

Personally I think the motto is fitting.  It's not just the users of the forum bitching, it's also about the people who run the place bitching about all the users and their dumb questions.    (Which leads me to ponder further questions.....)

Why is polling prohibited?

I think polling is a good way to get opinions and what people prefer.
