You call your the big airport scene in Civil War your big splash page, do you have the equivalent of that in this movie?

Joe Russo: We have an equivalent that’s like, if you had a comic book and you open it up to your double panel and then you fold it out, and then you folded it out again and again.

Anthony Russo: And you have another comic book laid out next to it.

Joe Russo: So we have the equivalent of that in this movie.

Anthony Russo: Well this movie is sort of cannibalized by Thanos’ decision, and an opportunity for him to make a very aggressive move for the stones. More so than he has at any point in the past, a more effective move for the stones than he has in the past. So when Thanos decides to do it, he really goes for it. And he’s kind of one step ahead of our heroes through the movie. And he puts them through a lot of pain in the process of that happening

Joe Russo: If you took Darth Vader and you multiply him times 10 … Look, our job with Thanos is to make him the preeminent villain in the Marvel Universe. That is his role in the comics. That’s his role in these movies. And in order to be a preeminent villain you have to do some pretty bad things.

and they even mention that this movie is just kinda the build up to A4, so for as big and bad as this movie will be... the penultimate MCU experience is yet to come (I mean we already knew that, but fuuuuuck..... one hype overload at a time please.)

I watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 with my daughter tonight.

She absolutely loves this movie.
From Baby Groot in the beginning to Drax getting swallowed to by the big monster, Drax getting slammed by trees, Cartoonish faces when warping and Baby Groot throwing up, all the way to the Ravager Salute for the funeral and the silly faces in the initial credits at the end.

She actually got up and started dancing during the credits. To be honest, she was quite animated and active during a lot of the movie, it was so many scenes she was into, I can't quite recall them all off the top of my head.

I do know Baby Groot was by far her favorite, dancing, throwing up, not understanding the request, chasing down enemies, I think she loved every scene for Baby Groot.

And surprisingly, she was following the story just fine w/o me having to really explain much of anything.
So I would have to say, just from observation, that this was her favorite movie in the re-watch so far. She was laughing, dancing, re-enacting, joking, and just enjoying herself for the majority of the movie. She was not only following along, but telling me what I had missed in the story, as I had to leave the room several times after we started watching.

Of course it is. I can't see any way it doesn't become at least the second highest grossing film of all time, Avatar would be tough to beat.

If anything can do it though, it'll probably be this.  If not this then likely Avengers 4.  I do hope for Avengers 4 they bring in all the TV show characters.

that's a tall order on both fronts.
especially when you have Deadpool 2 weeks later, and then Solo a week or so after that.
and then all the other movies releasing, it's a competition heavy time of the year, that will cut off some of those needed legs, unless it just becomes the ULTIMATE MUST SEE IN THEATERS (4 or 5x) EVENT OF THE YEAR!!! then, who knows... maybe it can take either and/or both records.

All the theaters anywhere around me have 7:00, 10:00, 7:30, 10:30 Thursday night showings...no need for a midnight release anymore.

No, they need an additional Midnight time slot to accomodate for those that don't want to be the only one that didn't make it preview night. they should probably add that time slot for the whole weekend too.

Also, tickets booked.  25th at 2.45pm.  Sadly there's no midnight screening because the 25th is a public holiday here in Australia and they can't open in the mornings.  I was hoping for a midnight released.  I had already planned out the evening and everything. How can we not be excited for the film that is the Biggest Most Unprecendented Cinematic Experience to date, when it's necessary viewing for the even Bigger More Unprecedented Cinematic Experience to come just 1 year later!?

The most purposefully coincidental thing that could've happened. I can almost guarantee it wasn't planned... at least not from the start. And it will probably be a small stretch to call whatever the Soul Stone is found in to be something that starts with H.
Unless it is of course Heimdall - because he did have an orange looking gem on his chest, his eyes glow orange, and he can locate people probably by their souls... seems almost kinda obvious.

I think he looks fine, with and without the helmet.
I actually prefer the non-helmet look, but whatever, just plug me in and deliver this movie straight into my brain already.

The Eye of Agamotto isn't really a necklace though...at least in the comics. So it's kinda campy, I guess, but I don't think it's that big of a deal.
I think Thanos looks great...very much like the comic book. He's very rarely without his helmet in the comic.
