Mine should be arriving in the mail in the next couple of days so I could give you a different opinion then if you'd like.

It is supposed to ship on the 30th. They are a bit slower than usual it seems.

Well, it looks like GTA cracked the top 5 in DS sales.  Rockstar should be happy.

LOL I think I found a flaw in the game.

You know that whole hotwiring parked cares thing?  WELL GUESS WHAT? You don't have to do it.

Get in a parked car, get out, get back in.  Bam car starts, no need for hot wiring.

This is especially if you are being chased by cops.

Good to know. Though be careful that you're not overwhelmed...

I've been buying up real estate when I get the chance. I've been giving emphasis those that have garages, since I want to park a ride there so that I have a car everytime I leave the safe house. But what does the description 'secluded' mean? I've been chased by the cops a few times to a safehouse, and I just save to the game to get the heat off.

Me and Djunknown tried out the multiplayer yesterday and from what I could tell was that there weren't any options to engage in any sort of online play. The whole thing is run from the PDA and you can type to each other in real time,  trade or give money, guns and drugs. Too bad because I wanted to give him a tank. You can also share locations on the map. Hopefully Rockstar will set up some multiplayer fun in the coming months and there can be more fun to be had with it because there is some good potential.
I beat the story and found the Lions of Fo, but I was only given a few missions and I'm back to carting dope around. Has anyone else gotten more missions, will they be distributed on a weekly basis sort of like the All Spark contest for Transformers on DS? There is a feature on the Social Club coming called Mr Wong's Laundromat, so there is something to look forward to.

I'm playing this game a little more now that my Hatsworth fever has lifted, but GTA keeps freezing on me during missions.  :-(

It only did that to me once, on a mission where I had to take a car to a special shop to plant a bomb in it. I drove into the stores garage and I walked out w/o the car like it was a garage and the game froze.

But what does the description 'secluded' mean? I've been chased by the cops a few times to a safehouse, and I just save to the game to get the heat off.

Secluded safe houses are where you can drive stolen trucks like the Ammu-Nation truck or a rival gangs truck. You need a secluded place where you can use a welder or cut open the door to grab the vehicles goods. You should get several so you're not racing half way across the city being chased by cops or gang members. I know I almost have to drop everything I'm doing to jack a truck I see passing by. I was the same way in Godfather.

So I beat the game last night. A predictable but enjoyable ending. Though I still have like 1/3rd of the game to complete apparently.

The dialogue is hilariously bad. They certainly did go for a cheesy buddy cop movie vibe.

The final climactic mission was pretty fun, along with the final few before it as well.

I can't figure out two things though, there is mention of an underground racing circuit but I can't find out anything about it and I'd like to race more in a non-go kart way.

Second, I keep finding these swirly blue clouds around town but I can't figure out what they do or how to use them.

Any thoughts?

Found out what they are:
The Blue Swirls: At the end of the game, 2 Golden Lions will randomly appear at the blue swirls. Catch them, then go online and upload your stats to the Social Club, and you will get 2 Bonus Missions!

Sweet, I wondered where the lions could be.

Chinatown Wars at almost 500,000?

I know how iffy VGchartz can be, but it's nice to see it's selling, better apparently than it's launch month.

Yep as soon as all those 12-year old DS owners turn 13, Bam! It'll get a blast from the spice weasel.

I'm wondering how many people on this forum has this game.

I'm still playing this and it's because of a number of factors, but mostly because the GTA system of running people over and causing trouble doesn't get old very fast for me. Sadly I can't access any online features because of my internet connection.
Also this game was just announced for the PSP and PSPGo. Will they have more online features and will the DS version begin to sit in dust? http://psp.ign.com/articles/996/996667p1.html
So much for exclusives :/

Wow. I wonder if they will just remove the touch related mini games.

Yes, Maxi, i own it and I beat it. I don't feel motivated to go back and finish all of the side tasks though. I really enjoyed it.

Considering that it was built for the DS system, the exclusion of touch related features would be dumbing it down. Do you think the game will retain it's art form since the PSP versions of GTA are in 3D, could they rework it into a 3D format? I'm also wondering why this is being done- Exclusive titles that get good reviews and do well in sales don't get sent to other systems. It's a move I'm totally confused about.

Well, I hope people with a PSP will eat it up like we did. It was one hell of a ride. Next time I have a DS gaming drought, I'm going to continue the quest to get all those cameras. Its tough because it shows all the locations of the cameras in your area, despite the fact you already took them down. I figure I'll have a map on hand, while I slowly bomb those cameras to oblivion...

Maybe the PSP version will do true online multiplayer? Might as well use all that muscle.
