Animal Crossing amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis Ultra Smash both failed to chart in the top 40's in the UK. I'm guessing that means they sold less than 1000 units for the entire territory.

It's that time again! It's time for another round of 20 questions, this time with the topic of: Video Game. The questions asked here are bounded only by your imagination, I'm going to be very specific in my choice of Video Game so I ask that your questions are suitably specific also, always believe in yourself and keep striving on!

I do actually like Wario Ware Snapped when it works, it was just, I dunno... ahead of it's time?

A kusoge protege? Couldn't have put it better myself. Start 'em co-reviewing rushed sports games and before you know it they are reviewing the next Cutie Pets Pick Berries.

Shoehorned Mobile Brainstorm
1. Donkey Konga
2. Wario Ware: Snapped
3. Tube Slider

I think Nintendo knows what they are doing in terms of mobile, Badge Arcade is a ruthless piece of software. That bunny is written so perfectly, he's doesn't come across as overbearing with his cutesy charm but pushes an incredibly hard sell.

No mobile game will excite me. Due to the nature of them there will always have to be compromises. Even games that are designed for touchscreen and have no free to play elements, like say Ghost Trick; incredible game, but whenever the operating system updates there is a 50/50 chance the game will just not work anymore where Capcom has zero obligation to fix it and you can't get a refund.

In terms of RPGs though end of 2013 was like half way into it's life, very early in it's life in the west it was mostly ports like Overclocked, Soul Hackers and Tales of the Abyss. It's just that RPGs are expected to have a large amount of content/text and it takes a long time to make this content/translate it.

If Nintendo tries to add american voice acting to #FE I don't think anyone will thank them. Not the fans, not the voice actors, certainly not the person working the bank books. Just bring it over ASAP before the Wii U dies.

Ok, I got dis. I just gotta choose what Stratos wouldn't choose then choose the opposite or not depending on the level of bluff I expect. Shouldn't be too close to the top, shouldn't be too close to the end of the list either, but I should also follow my gut... I'm guessing you're a quadruple bluff kind of person Stratos. The circle formed with the thumb and first finger and the 3 other fingers pointing upwards represents OK, as in, we OK there is no bomb here.

So I'm going with: Thunderball

I have started seeing the game advertised on youtube at the start of videos. It's a decent little trailer and packs a lot into 30 seconds without being confusing. As we get closer and closer to launch my hype is increasing exponentially.

The girl-Link concept always seemed odd to me.  The Zelda series already has a prominent female character in Zelda so if they wanted to make a game that stared a female wouldn't it make more sense to have Zelda in the starring role?  Why would you change the gender of an iconic male character when you have an iconic female character in the same series that fans have pretty much been begging to have her own game for decades?
Link isn't really a character though, he's supposed to be a self insert that represents the player. Or if you go by the official timeline Link is not the same person every time rather a reincarnation or descendant. I don't see why any particular Link couldn't have been born with an XX instead of an XY.

Very well thought out. As well as looking like a infinite symbol it also looks like an egg timer, fill it with pixels that flow from one side to the other, then flip 180 degrees to start over, and boom you have a system loading animation. In terms of backwards compatibility each the portable and the console only have one screen, but when you combine them you have two, opening the door to Wii U, 3DS and DS downloads.

When you have both a handheld and a console working together I think there are a few options for the hardware. First would be something like the Sega Nomad, where the handheld has a similar level of power as the console, perhaps the NX handheld would have less impressive resolutions and frame rates but fundamentally they are the same.

+ If the handheld and the console are one and the same you could draw both western and eastern 3rd party support to the same system.
+ Gives people the choice of if they want either the console the handheld or both.
- Would be very expensive to get both since you would have to include the same set of hardware twice, once for the console and again for the handheld as they would need to work as stand alone units.
- Poor battery life for the handheld.

Another option is for the NX to be like the Gameboy player. Where you can play your handheld games on a big screen, giving a console experience for your handheld games.

+ Would be very cheap since you only need one set of hardware, the console part could just be a shell that receives low latency signals and puts them on your tv.
- Graphically underwhelming when on the big screen.
- Could drive away western 3rd parties.

The last idea I had was for the NX to be like the Vita when it receives PS4 signals. The Vita at that point is just a receiver for content streamed from the PS4.

+ Quite cheap since the handheld could just be a shell that has games streamed to it over the internet.
+ 1:1 console graphics on a handheld.
+ Attractive to western 3rd parties.
- Too similar to Wii U.
- Only those with good internet would be able to utilize the handheld.

Looking at the new footage they showed with the Wii U gamepad it looks like the removed the jank of having to push and pull letters around.

My favourite bit about the first one is how it deceives you into thinking the game is more limited than it actually is. It gives you the standard set up of a dungeon to explore, shops to buy items and a place to get quests. The ball starts rolling when you find a handgun in one of the rooms, then one thing leads to another and you find your self standing on that bridge looking over the city. The music is sombre and gives off an air of dispair, but it's also eerily calm. The training wheels come off and the game stops telling you where to go, you want to know how to cross the bridge? Well work it out yourself bitch. The way it conceals it's hand until a fair way into the game then springs on all this atmosphere at once, from that point onwards I was completely engrossed and immersed in this world until the very end.

I doubt Final will be able to pull this off as effectively since I not going to fall for the same trick twice now, but I'm very interested to see what they pull off.

Dragon Quest 7 3DS is a complete remake of the original, think Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby. Graphics are completely redone as well as sound and music. For the western release it looks like they are completely redoing the text as well since Enix rushed the original translation. Never mind the fact that the game was never even released in Europe let alone translated into PAL 5.

For Dragon Quest 8 the text doesn't need completely redoing since the original has stellar writing. But all of the additional content added for the remake like the extra dungeons, playable characters and endings will still need to be translated. Another minor thing is that the 3ds version runs at full speed compared to the original PAL version that ran at 50hz.

Next year for RPGs is going to be a blood bath. Especially in Europe where it's everything North America gets plus everything that slipped from last year like Super Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Yo-kai Watch, Stella Glow, Legend of Legacy and Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold.

If it meant not having the game at all I would absolutely buy a censored version. I find the concept of censorship to be an insult to your audience and to your fans, but if in the grand scheme of things it only affects 0.1% of the game's total content who cares?

Ocarina of Time 3d character models look way better than the original, but it's pretty obvious that if you redo an N64 game the jump is going to be more impressive than redoing a GameCube game due to the law of diminishing returns.

1023
Studio of the year is such a blanket nonsense term. The nominations apart from Nintendo have all only released a single big game this year essentially boiling it down to Game Of The Year 2 with exactly the same nominations. I don't see the logic behind grouping together all of Nintendo's studios and pitting them against another single studio.

Smash is like 15 gigs with a couple more in updates that you'll need if you want to play online, Splatoon is like 2 gigs including patches. Plus operating system and system updates which is another 5... so you'd have about 8 left over.

I'm surprised by how awesome this sounds, teaches me right for judging a book by it's cover.
