Interesting discussion, guys. I certainly agree with several points you make regarding NWR's Gamecube 10, but must disagree with some others. For example, Super Monkey Ball, despite being a great game, wouldn't be on my list, either. There are several Gamecube games which I would place in this category, such as the Timesplitters games. I would definitely include Eternal Darkness in my top 10 because it told a compelling story (the forces of evil inciting World War One and setting up a makeshift hospital in a church in order to feed wounded soldiers to a developing monster that dwells deep beneath it? Sweet) and exhibited some truly brilliant moments of gameplay.
Zach, I am not sure that I understand your criticism that Pikmin 2 is too "randomly generated" for you. Is that a knock at it's level design, or lack thereof? If so, keep in mind that the ourdoor areas of the game are specifically crafted and designed to remain the same; it's only the different cave levels that are randomly generated. And that sort of illustrates my overall opinion of Pikmin 2: It's the best of both worlds. Though both Pikmin games are excellent, I've always favoured the sequel because it offers more of everything, and that was basically the only shortcoming I had with the first game -- I was left wanting. I felt that Pikmin 2 built upon the many things that made the first one great. Also, the Water Wraiths that were found in the depths of the caves were downright terrifying. Oh, and Pikmin 2 had the Pluckaphone, which almost single-handedly renders the first game obsolete.
