Ace Attorney Investigations 2 Still a Possibility in the West

The game could be released depending on the success of Ace Attorney 5.

The ruling may not be final when it comes to Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth 2 being released outside of Japan, according to Capcom USA's Christian Svensson.

While he noted that AAI 2 is not being "held hostage" over sales forecasts for Ace Attorney 5, it of course wouldn't hurt if it does well in sales.

Svensson made it clear that Capcom USA set sales projections much higher for AA5 than previous entries, just to ensure its release in North America.

Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth 2 was released in Japan on February 3, 2011 for the Nintendo DS. It has not been discussed just how a possible localization would be sold here.

That is just BS, Capcom as whole has an unbelieveably bad record when it comes to promoting they're non-mega franchises. Okami is a good example; you can't expect to get high sales unless you make TV commercials, cause casual gamers don't go on gaming websites like we do.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to get both games, but I can see how it's a tough call.  These games come down to the text.  You can't just do literal translations.  Poor localization means poor game.  Paying good writers isn't cheap.  Advertising isn't cheap, and perhaps they just figure they won't get back what it costs to run the TV ads.

I'm surprised they're messing with DS carts.... again, love to fill in my collection, but with the past games coming on iOS the digital only format seems ideal for this series (and a format they could really milk if they wanted to get "greedy" - think pay for each case/turnabout)
