The latest downloadable content for Mega Man 9 includes an additional time attack stage and increased difficulty options.

 Yesterday, Capcom released new downloadable content packs for Mega Man 9. Players have the option of downloading two new difficulty modes and an extra stage.    

Two of the new DLC packs, Hard Mode and Expert Mode, add an extra challenge for gamers who can breeze through the regular difficulty setting. Both modes will adjust the location of enemies throughout the stages. Players who dare to tackle Expert Mode will find the difficulty increased threefold from the default setting. These modes do not support the Rankings or Challenges Modes.    

The other new downloadable content pack is a Special Time Attack Stage. The stage includes a brand new level that ends with a fight against the new boss, "Fake Man." The Special Time Attack Stage is comparable in difficulty to the Wily Castle stages. The stage supports online rankings.      

Each of the new Mega Man 9 DLC packs can be downloaded on WiiWare for 100 Wii Points ($1).

Yeah, these "releases" of Capcom's are in bad taste. The target audience for MM9 is less likely to put up with this sort of extortion than others. Perhaps I'm wrong, though, and Mega Man fans will bitterly allow themselves to be nickel-and-dimed.

I watched videos of that level, your not missing any thing. It's a bunch of **** ripped from other parts of the games, including a Wily stage boss as well as a few of the mini bosses. Fake man is uncreative and adds nothing. I wouldn't buy this.

Considering how much the game is about spike and hole deaths I wonder how they could really alter the difficulty...

Sadly you're probably wrong.  This whole generation's business model appears to be based on ripping people off.  If I had one Hong Kong cent for every time I thought "only a complete moron would let videogame company X rape them like this" I'd be as rich as Nintendo.

Hardcore gamers fall for this kind of stuff because they're completists.  Casuals fall for this kind of stuff because they're ignorant.  Only a small group of people in between are unaffected.  If Nintendo can make a bundle every time they repackage an old game then Capcom can make a bundle with this.
