TalkBack / Re: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Review
« on: May 14, 2012, 09:14:24 AM »
I don't think this game is meant for me. Even though I enjoy rhythm games and I love FF6, I really didn't care too much for any of the other installments of the FF series that I've played. I'd end up only playing the 4-6 songs from FF6 and nothing else. That hardly merits a retail purchase for me.

Wait, what? 31?  I can only think of half of them...

KBK has a valid point. While errors in text may not distract you, they can potentially detract from a players suspension of disbelief. Text is a part of a game's overall production value and should be noted in a review.

My own pet peeve is swapping "to" and "too" as if they're interchangeable.

I don't even remember hearing about this. Hopefully it turns out to be as good as it plays out in my head.

I was going to pick this up until I read your review.  Now I'll have to take a deeper look at it before I buy. Thanks for the honest review Neal.

Capcom's brand new idea:

You buy these Robot Master toys and they interact with your video game via a Mega Portal.

Top 15 N64 games? I don't think I could name 15 N64 games I liked. I was in my early 20's when it came out and was pretty disenfranchised with the hobby altogether.

Gauntlet Legends
Ocarina of Time
Pokemon Snap
Mario Golf
Mario Party
Super Mario 64
Megaman 64 (played it on the PS1)
Resident Evil 2 (played it on the PS1)

8 is close enough.

Possible changes with a new iteration:
-Longer battery life
-Larger screen
-2nd circle pad
-Larger 3D "sweet spot"
-More in system memory for DSiWare

Any others?

I think I'm the only one hoping for a new 3DS iteration. I'm ready to trade up my current 3DS for a 3DSLite. Then again all my gaming dollars are focused on the DS/3DS. I can understand someone being hard-pressed and upset for a new release when you're supporting your hobby on two to five different systems.

The Nikkei (which is the market Nintendo trades on) is up 1.22%. Still, I do think increased 3DS sales was more likely the reason than announcing an event since Nintendo tends to hold multiple events throughout the year.

Nintendo trades on more than one market and is also affected by more than one. A perk of being a pink sheet.

Anyways, I'm glad that they confirmed this rumor. I still don't believe it had much of anything to do with the stock increase.

Mysterious event or 3DS sales jumping +700%. Wonder which one it could be...

Not to mention the market is up overall, ~2.5%.

TalkBack / Re: New Wii Exploit Requires No Games
« on: August 11, 2011, 10:48:51 PM »
@Mega: Very true. That's why I suggested haxxing a cheap-o second-hand Wii. $50 and a few hours and Xeno, Pandora, Last Story, Code R, Disaster Day, Fatal Frame IV, etc... are all yours.

I don't like to condone piracy but lets be honest; if you dont care about having a physical copy of a specific retail game you probably don't enough to buy that game new either. If so then the only people you're hurting are your local GameStop employees.

Of course there's zero chance of Nintendo finding out your Wii is hacked if you never set up/turn off it's online capabilities.

It's not like there's much of a reason to hook a Wii up to the intrawebz anyways, Netflix aside. If you do flick the nets it might even be worth picking up a second cheap Wii on craig's for $50.

I must admit, the site of ten little Kirbys ganging up on an enemy and beating the tar out of it made me laugh.

Thanks for the impressions. I'll have to keep an eye out for this title. It seems to be the more interesting of the two.

Which E3 build did you prefer?

There's a lot of great deals at Gamestop. I bought used copies of Elite Beat Agents and Meteos, $4 each, box and manuals included.

No one forces you to sell your games to GS. No one forces you to get a card or make a preorder. All you have to do is say "no."

I always buy my games from the lowest bidder. More and more that's been Glyde.

Great read Pedro.

Sweet Home is an excellent game. I've completed it three times myself and it really shows the roots of Resident Evil. One of the notes near the balcony even loosely translates to the mansion as a house of residing evil.

Anyone who enjoys difficult, exploration base, old-school RPGs should check it out.

Will you be doing a post on the Friends List?

I'd love some real details about it's functionality.
