Devil's Third Announced for Wii U
« on: June 10, 2014, 06:40:00 AM »

And it's an exclusive!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/37726/devils-third-announced-for-wii-u

Devil's Third has been announced for the Wii U, and it's an exclusive for the system.

Developed by famed Ninja Gaiden director Tomonobu Itagaki, the game is a blend of both the melee combat and first-person shooter genres. It is under development by Valhalla Game Studios, the studio Itagaki started when leaving Temco in 2008.

What is also notable about the game is that originally it was a multiplatform title under THQ, but things changed once the publisher declared bankruptcy in 2013.

There is no word on a release date at this point.

I thought this game was quietly cancelled close to 2 years ago.... at least for Nintendo systems.
That is a pretty exciting get for Nintendo.

Awesome to see more exclusive titles coming to Wii U... but I have to admit that this game looks way outside my personal interest. Over-the-top violence. Gratuitous sexuality. Cursing. More over-the-top violence.  Just not really my thing - and I wonder how many other Nintendo fans and Wii U owners will flock to this type of game?

you told every what was going to happen?

that Devil's Third, which was rumored to come to the Wii U (& PS3/X360) oh so long ago, but fell off the map 1-2 years ago, would actually resurface at E3 2014 as a Wii U exclusive?
because if that's the case, we will be requiring a link to that post.

and I just watched the video, and you can tell this is very much a PS360 title at heart.

I said that Nintendo would probably make Devil's Third a Wii U exclusive by purchasing the rights to it.

so Nintendo found a loop hole to their third party problem, just buy up the rights to the game, wish they would just buy out Sega and be done with it damn.

I am getting very conflicted watching this trailer.
Melee combat! Hack and slash! Awesome!
Shooting dudes... Ugh..
Hack and slash!
Generic shooting...

I love Ninja Gaiden Black and i hope this game will turn out as good.

IGN had a gameplay trailer today: http://www.ign.com/videos/2014/06/10/devils-third-gameplay-demo-e3-2014

It looks a little rough and a mediocre playthrough. I'm sure it will get polished though.

Okay, that was pretty cool when he threw the sledgehammer in that play session. The melee weapons look to be the best part.

Still, It looks a little dated and generic in style.

The animations seem to have a low frame count and the lighting need spruced up. Doesn't mean it won't be fun.
